Podcast Importer SecondLine Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well.I am reaching out to seek assistance with an issue I am experiencing while using the Podcast Importer SecondLine Plugin. Specifically, when I attempt to import posts from the Libsyn dashboard, the process does not correctly import the Libsyn audio files or the URLs included in the description. Instead, the plugin defaults to displaying the standard WordPress audio player.
Here are the details of the issue:
Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue? Any assistance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,

Hello, I know there’s an option to append the episode number to the post title, but are there any options for importing the season number anywhere in a custom post type? In the RSS feed we can see this is coming through in the <itunes:season> field. This would be particularly useful for visually denoting different seasons in the episode listing, or sorting different seasons into different sections/pages.
Hello;
I have a problem when importing podcasts from RSS.com hosting and it is that it does not load the image.
If I use another hosting it does work.
Inspecting the rss feed there seems to be no difference with the and tag.
Is there a problem with the hosting that I haven’t detected? Any settings in the plugin that I need to change?
An example: https://media.rss.com/el-charco/feed.xml
Thanks
I’m new to WordPress as in the past I used to build my sites on Weebly, so I’m not up to speed on all the WordPress lingo, but do have a basic understanding of how it works.
I have a podcast on Spotify (which used to be anchor) & initially I used SSP to import via the RSS feed, but it kept having errors during the process, & would duplicate episodes when I restarted the import.
After many hours of watching videos & reading posts I came across your vdeo on YouTube about creating separate Podcast & Blog sections: https://youtu.be/gPAm3H_dZ1g?si=aSvNglBCCUO-BRwl
The video says you can integrate with SSP to keep your Podcast episodes separate from blog posts. I have 62 episodes imported using your importer, and following your video I have added them to the category “podcasts”. As far as SSP goes, I have no episodes/posts, so how do I get my 62 episodes into SSP?
Hi,
The plugin has stopped importing the featured images for some reason.
We’ve deleted the 3 latest imported posts without featured images, and emptied the bin.
Neither a manual re-sync or hourly import is bring the featured images in.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks.
Hi,
Great plugin, and the import feed works with the latest episode showing.
However, no featured images are imported.
Can you confirm the episode images are not appearing because they are not appearing in the RSS feed, please?

Hi,
Can you help me understand why certain episodes are skipped? I have modified the importer to only import episodes since the 1st of this year, yet it only imported the very latest episode.
Thanks

Hello! This plugin is great. I was wondering if there are any plans in the near future to update the Libsyn embed player to the new style, rather than the current old one?
Hi everyone,
I have been using your plugin (second line podcast importer) for a few months and I am very satisfied. Everything was fine until two days ago. Now unfortunately the podcasts imported from anchor no longer import the image, nor in the individual articles, nor in the initial page of wordpress where the last 5 articles (podcasts) are automatically published. Can you give me a hand please?
Best regards

Is it possible to import more than one podcast using SecondLine importer?
I’ve got the plugin up and running and successfully importing 269 out of 270 episodes from my podcast but I can’t figure out why it’s missing one. As the import processes, it says it sees all 270 episodes but then it skips one (it happens to be the second episode ever published). I’ve carefully checked the XML and nothing is noticeably different with this episode (and it’s not a duplicate title) so I’m not sure what’s going on. I have debugging on but I don’t see anything getting printed to debug.log so I’m not even sure how to dig into this further.
I installed the plugin on my wordpress site, then tried to set up the import (RSS: https://anchor.fm/s/ac18c214/podcast/rss). The plugin is just stuck making a circle icon and doesn’t import.
Other relevant info:
WordPress version 6.1.1
Current theme: Twenty Twenty-two
Host: Blue Host
Thoughts? Thanks!

This plugin has been working great and is still pulling through new podcast episodes on the page.
BUT, it doesn’t appear to be creating blog posts so when I click on ‘podcast archive’ none of the new podcasts are there.
I’ve tried a manual import but it states that there are no new episodes.
Can you help?
We’ve been importing podcasts into our WP site, from Libsyn. Recently the audio fails to load. We recently changed hosts, but that did not stop our latest episode from importing. The audio just doesn’t load anymore. It works everywhere else (Apple Podcast, Google, Spotify).
Looking at some of the setting for importing (and there are several). I’m not sure if something is missing. Again, the last episode loaded, so I’m not sure why the audio is missing. It’s happening on all episodes, even ones from years ago.

I’m using WP Bakery and I’m not sure how to showcase the podcast on my page. I’m not sure if I missed a short code or something when I did the import but I can’t find a way to embed the podcast episode/player.

Hi Team,
How I can import the apple podcast to my page https://dealertalk.io/audio/
can you please guide me how we can import podcasts from any one of the listed podcast platforms on this
https://dealertalk.io/audio/
I can understand if this is something that becomes part of the paid version of this plugin, but I just want this request to be considered at the very least.
I would love it if there was something when creating/editing a podcast import where you could specify any RSS feed tag and then also specify any WordPress custom field so that additional RSS feed details can be imported as needed.
For example, an RSS feed may have a

tag which is specific to each episode while the site might have an Advanced Custom Fields field (or just a standard custom field) for that link tag’s content to be inserted into.
This could be very useful & really expand the capability of the importer with this method able to be used for any/all custom fields and episode-specific RSS feed tag.
It could be as simple as a textarea where it explains the convention of “*RSS Feed Tag Name*|*Custom Field Name*” (use a pipe between the two names being mapped) where multiple could be specified by supplying one per line in the textarea. This basic setup could be totally sufficient as long as the form field explains things sufficiently.
Otherwise, I could see it be enhanced where the RSS feed tag & custom field name are their own text fields in a row & then there are buttons for adding/removing them like a repeater field (help simplify things by avoiding the need to know the pipe convention of the option mentioned above.) Going even further, this could have dropdowns used instead of text fields where each RSS feed tag & custom field name is detected and offered there (while offering the option to specify a new option just in case it’s a new custom field or happened to not detect things properly.) Then again, all 3 of these approaches would be sufficient so it’s a matter of how much time is going to be spent on fleshing out the UI of this for now.
Thanks for hearing me out,
Kurt
My WP site was built by someone over 5 years ago…and they’d used some kind of coding (that I was not aware of at the time). There is page that houses my blog posts in that coded format.
In the last year my WP site has had people go in and change other parts of my WP site using Elementor.
Today, I (an non-tech person) personally went into my WP site and uploaded the Podcast Importer plugin, in the hopes that it would import my podcast into a blog format/template. The upload of the plugin went smoothly. HOWEVER, there is no “Media File” showing on any of the blog posts (there are 121 of them)– no icons for listening, sharing, or downloading, etc.
My WP site is hosted on SiteGround; and they told me that they are not able to help me with this and had to contact www.ads-software.com directly. So, here I am and I need help to get this fixed. Can anyone advise/guide/help me pleeeeeeease????
Hello,
We are importing the shows, import working fine, but the episodes are not display under main shows, all the episodes are importing under Podcasts post type, how can we built relation between shows and episodes. It display No episodes are available yet for this Show like this.
Hi there, your YouTube plugin worked beautifully, so am trying it with the podcast plugin. But it doesn’t give me any warnings or dialogue confirmations. It runs through the import process, and then nothing happens. Podcast is on Anchor.fm, and the php.ini is set to allow urls. Any suggestions for me?
I know via https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/add-support-for-seriously-simple-speakers-plugin/ & https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/allow-ituneskeywords-rss-element-for-items-to-populate-tags-for-episodes/ that the

tag in the RSS feed can be auto-imported into a custom taxonomy & the iTunes keywords can be auto-imported into tags, but I’m looking for something like having the Speakers taxonomy Seriously Simple Podcasting provides via Seriously Simple Speakers where the import always has the same speakers set for the import.
Also, it’s odd that having the Podcast post type selected still has “Post Category (or Categories)” shown as the label for where you’re actually setting the Series (now labeled Podcast per the recent SSP update.)
I think it would be ideal if:
That would greatly improve (if not outright make it possible) having additional taxonomies that might be associated with the episodes being imported able to be set automatically as needed (both in terms of being able to auto-set more than the limited set taxonomies it offers now while also not needing to rely on the RSS feed to provide absolutely everything [per the category/series field already somewhat providing that already where this just expands on that use case.])
I have this plugin setup and the initial import went great. However, it is checking every hour for a new podcast, and then creating a log entry each time. I’ve had the plugin for a couple of weeks and it has over 600 logs under Tools>Scheduled Actions. If I want to delete these logs I’d have to click through 60 pages. I can’t set the number of logs to display per page. I don’t see a way to not keep the logs (I don’t need them!), and I don’t see a way to have it check once per week instead of once per hour. There is also not a “Clear log” button. That’s going to be thousands and thousands of log entries over a period of a year and I don’t want the database to be bogged down by that. Help?
Hey
Tell me what I need to do to make the podcast appear in scheduled Imports?

Hi,
How can I hide the episode number at the beginning of the episode title?
The episode title looks like this:
81: Mentale St?rke – wichtiger denn je | 81
Whereas in the hoster (Podigee) we only put in: Mentale St?rke – wichtiger denn je | 81
So, ’81:’ is added automatically in the beginning. How can I have the plugin NOT add ’81:’ (episode number and colon) in the beginning of each episode title automatically?
Thanks!
Kind regards
Hanna
Hi Admin,
I just bought the pro version plugin. Just wondering if the plugin can import a post with custom format. It’s always imported in standard” format while we want to import it in ‘Podcast’ format. So I have to always manually change the format from standard to podcast every time.
See the screenshot link below:

But it has not been inserted yet.

Hello,
I’m using your plugin for a while now. I’m so happy with it that I contributed to it with translating it to Dutch. But now since a few days the import stopped working.
I cannot figure out why. In the site health I don’t see any WP cron issues and I already deactivated and activated the plugin again.
I also entered the RSS feed url again but with no result.
Hopefully you can help me with this.
Thanks in advance,
Vasco
