I know I should provide as much detail as possible for this brilliant plugin but it simply leaves me speechless. Every time I use it it makes me feel like I have WordPress super powers.
I only wish I started using it sooner. My recommendation for new WordPress users and developers: start your journey on a high ground with Pods!

Hello,
My site is French and all my solutions are on it, but I have a problem with pods which displays the dates in English. What should I do?

This used to be a great plugin.
However the learning curve for the new security setup is too steep.

Pods works perfectly with my Elementor theme. It’s one of the best plugins I’ve found so far. Huge thanks to the developers, you simply rock!

I have been trying to use, understand, and extends Pods for the sake of maintaining legacy code.
I am still confused, to me it seems like an overcomplicated custom fields implementation that makes WordPress unnecessarily slow and is hard to customize even when reading the documentation over and over. I guess that a reason for still using Pods in 2024 might be a use case with a very complicated data structure. Otherwise, just define custom fields in PHP, if you’re a coder, or try ACF instead.

Me encanta….

Working with PODS for years now.. It is really fantastic to work with. Great Support, great flexibility and integration in Elementor.
Works with all the plugins I throw at it.
Don’t believe the negative reviews about the integration with Elementor, those users probably never contacted support here. Thanks a lot developers of PODS, you rock!

I want to love Pods but their complete lack of documentation makes it utterly infuriating to work with. The fact that an option in your plugin can’t be found referenced in your documentation is ludicrous. Half the time there is “documentation” it ends up just being a blank page or contains content that lacks any context, like a random data table.
For a plugin that has been around for years, this is completely unacceptable.

I am currently redoing a website for which pods.io was an absolute gamechanger. Unfortunately I don’t fully understand php and sql which is why I am possibly missing some features but until now, the plugin is configured and works pretty well. It will, in future, save me tons of hours.

I can easily create custom database tables through the admin UI without messing with codes.

crashed my site .. so many bugs !

One of the best, if not THE BEST custom fields plugin available.

Easy to use, and lets you create extra content types real easy.

Please don’t use Pods!
Unfortunately, I have to work with Pods for 7+ of years now … (our own decision back then, deeply regret it).
(For complex projects) The major issue is, that Pods is not working with WordPress, but working around it. Means, it doesn’t integrate into WordPress (and plugins) very well. You have custom, non-intuitive functions for everything Pods related. So you eventually have to write a lot of custom code instead.
It gives you more problems than solving. Whenever there is a new requirement where Pods is involved, it needs much more resources to get resolved.
The second major issue is, that the overall (code) quality of pods is terrible. Every update is a risk. It has a lot of technical debt, you will inherit using pods. Personally, it got more obvious after learning that Caldera Forms and Pods are from the same person originally. Unfortunately, I had to customize Caldera Forms too, which really was a burden… Clever ideas, but unmaintainable code…

Fails in many ways with Elementor and has entry bugs with plain WordPress. Regularly forces entry in “Text” mode for WYSYG mode instead of Visual. I am up to date with all parts of my site and am still getting regular PHP errors. Not good guys.
BTW how do I export the DATA not just the structure?

A very powerful addition for the WP dataBase, good support, does take some improvement with its tutorials though.

I received excellent support in slack forum. I solved my problem in 30 minutes. Great!

Pods has helped us create many complex websites for free which otherwise wouldn’t be possible . Its simple, intuitive and has a great community on Slack.

Pods allows you to do anything you can ever imagine with WP. Amazing developers too! Genius, amazing, responsive, and they get plugin conflicts fixed SO QUICKLY (though Pods is coded so well, plugin conflicts are RARE).

Plugin is ok on wordpress 6.2.1

I was hoping this plugin would work, but it doesn’t support the latest version of Elementor. It doesn’t allow for selecting a field key.

For me, it is the best plugin to create custom post with additional custom fields, extend the default post type with custom fields and create quickly a custom table options.
Also, I have to emphasize how easy it is for developers with many functions, hooks and queries to further extend its functionalities.

I massively use POD and I can say it is a great plugin. However, I am struggling to create a field to show in the template (Elementor) a pdf shared on google drive. Tried with oEmbed, text WYSIWYG, text, but it did not work. Any suggestion?

The plugin has a bit of a learning curve due to that it can do some pretty complex tasks with custom post types and fields. But it’s a great plugin, and the support I have received has been fantastic.

Very easy to setup custom post types, relationships between them, and templates to present the custom data. Just all-round awesome doing what it claims to do.

One of the first plugins I install on all my WP sites.

There’s a bit of a learning curve (although not as much as ACF) but it’s definitely worth the effort. And you can create a lot of custom content with the free core plugin.

I use Pods on almost every site I make now. The shortcodes and magic tags do everything I need to create some pretty advanced content types.

This is a very useful and free tool, it mostly lacks import/export capabilities (and good documentation). It is well worth any struggle getting started.

Great plugin for Custom fields and Relations (Posts to Posts). Support is fantastic fast (Just connect to Slack group)
