A good plugin. Sadly it’s currently broken. Would give it 5 stars if it worked.

There seem to be a lot of negative reviews lately. I just updated the plugin on one of my sites which has just been updated to latest version of WP – and the gallery stopped working.
But that was because when you update the gallery, you have to activate it again on the plugin page control panel.

Also not working for me since version 1.5.1 which is a real shame because I previously liked this plugin. Please provide an update that works on newer versions of WordPress! ??

This plugin hasn’t worked for me since v1.5.1. As I can’t update it, I’ll need to migrate to an alternative.

Have used it for several sites before, but it gets more errors / bugs with every update. Would not recommend this plugin to anyone anymore. Since there is NO support and the plugin is filled with several BIG deal breaking issues. Sorry.
A HUGE update is a must to breath life into this plugin again but this do not seems likely to happen any day soon.

does not work anymore

Broken in the last update. Many other people report the same both here in the ratings, and in the support forum.

Wasn’t even able to figure out where to add portfolio images for the app after about 30 minutes and I’m not dummy… All I could find were the settings but no where could I actually add new portfolios and images. Waste of time, shouldn’t be that hard to figure some little plugin out.

This thing has become a horror show with ZERO support from the authors. I guess I get to go find another portfolio plugin…

This plugin is great, I’ve used a lot for many websites. It’s quite easy to use, don’t need to fill thousand input fields to go, I like how simple and useful this plugin is.

I’ve been using Portfolio Slideshow for years and it is an amazing plugin. It seems to work perfectly with newer versions of WordPress. I’m pleased to see this plugin being supported again after a brief period of inactivity. One very cool Portfolio Slideshow feature is that you can add the photos for the slideshow directly into the page and then easily rearrange the order simply by dragging the images. Thank you for the awesome photo solution.

With the latest update it doesn’t work, and creates conflicts with other plugins.

Update 1.11.0 breaks the plugin. It was working fine and really added a great feature but now all the shortcodes are useless and I am editing posts to remove.
Do not update the plugin if you do not want to replace it.

Unfortunately this once great simple slideshow plugin has
This is all since the developer change, so I presume there’s a new approach to downgrade the capability of the free version of plugin.

nothing displayed. but it DID NOT break anything. ??
FWIW, i have been using and recommending this plugin since its “made by raygun” days. not only recommending it, but pushing people to spring for the pro version. george has always been most responsive and helpful.
in this new version, i saw setting options for most of the features i use regularly, but without being able to actualy display a slideshow and play with the configuration it was impossible to fully compare generations.
overall, it looks like they’ve done a great job of streamlining the slideshow building process, even if old-timers such as myself need to relearn a few things. now if only it would display. ??
two stars for now, but i’m more than happy to jump back on the portfolio slideshow bandwagon if someone can help me get it working.

I’ve been using this plugin on a site happily for a couple of years. On a different development site which makes extensive use of the Page Builder plugin the Portfolio Slideshow plugin breaks the Page Builder structure on every page where Page Builder is used. It maybe that the issue is connected with the later versions of WP or it could be a straight code conflict, but worryingly the author says on the support page ‘I’ll do my best to help troubleshoot bugs, but should set expectations early that customer support is not provided for this plugin at this time’.
So I will look for a different plugin and I’ll replace the instance on the operational site as well.

Up until recently there was another plugin called “Portfolio Slideshow” written by “momnt”. There was a free version and a pro version. This plugin is no longer listed in the wordpress directory and the developers website is gone. I have version 1.9 of the old “Portfolio Slideshow”. The new “Portfolio Slideshow” is at version 1.10.
The new “Portfolio Slideshow” has different developers. It works the same was as the older plugin, in that it display the attached images to a post or page. Unfortunately, as others have noted in recent posts, it is buggy and basic functionality from the older plugin is missing or not working.
Perhaps the current developers can explain the relationship between the two plugins. Did they take over the code or just the name?

Great plugin in many aspects, maybe one of the best, for it’s really easy to use, but still very annoyed with that caption/description/title feature not working, too bad. Otherwise it would be a perfect 5*
Can we expect fixing about this feature soon? Thanks.

Plugin is great other than this feature not working. Will update to 5 stars when it’s fixed, unfortunately not usable until it is.

Loved this plugin, as it was one of the few portfolio slideshows that has customisable options for display, and is fully responsive.
However, I mistakenly updated to v1.9.9, and then 1.10.0 – without realising that the plugin had broken on my site.
Luckily, it didn’t crash the WordPress, and I was able to uninstall, and reinstall v.1.5.1 by downloading it from the plugin directory page > developers. It’s working fine again.
I hope the latest version is fixed soon!

This plugin update completely crashed our site. Now trying to figure out how to uninstall or rewrite without having access to WP-admin.

I have no idea what’s going on with the author of this plugin, but it took me most of an afternoon to recover from installing 1.10.0. It breaks WordPress. You cannot even see the login screen. I’ve kept quiet about this for a week waiting for the author to retract 1.10.0 and 1.9.9 but he hasn’t. I will now proceed to nuke this plugin in every forum I can find. Sad.

Although there were no updates for a long time, this plugin worked fine up to WP 4.2.
Unfortunately the plugin-developer decided to update the plugin. Obviously, without testing.
Therefor, I recommend not to update, also the fix of the update did not solve anything.

We are using PHP 5.3 and this upgrade crashed our entire site. Now we are still getting this error
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/content/01/7385801/html/ddworld/wp-content/plugins/portfolio-slideshow/lib/Plugin.php on line 57
And then I discover that the author does NOT support his work???

Was 5 stars for version 1.5.1. Now 1 start for version 1.9.9.
I upgraded the plug-in yesterday, and it broke my entire web site.
Turns out the latest version requires PHP 5.4 and my ISP only supports PHP 5.3.28. The upgrade took down my whole site, including the WordPress Dashboard. What a pain in the a**.

Exactly what a customer wanted, and precisely what they have! Good job with all the features while maintaining easy to use.

I tried out a few slideshow plugins, this one works so far and has a relatively easy interface. The best part is that you can add multiple images at once to a slideshow.
