The plugin does not support BuddyPress Avatar
As it seems not to sync with BuddyPress
This plugin works perfectly. In case updates are needed are you still updating this plugin? I would be happy to pay for it if you chose to continue taking responsibility for it.
it would be a good idea for rich snippet support or to enter tags before and after name.
also it would be a good idea to be able to change the more about text on the links
is there any way to add in a page the option to show or hide the post author?
i know that by default it should show it but in a custom page it doesnt have it.
can i do something like this on functions.php to include it? the following doesnt work
add_post_type_support( ‘wysijap’, ‘post_author’);
Thanks for this plugin. I think it’s great.
From my understanding, you’re planning on fixing this issue in the next version.
I was wondering if there’s some type of code I can add (I’m guessing to functions.php) to display everything your plugin normally outputs so when I’m viewing an archive page that lists multiple posts, after the title of each post but before its content/excerpt, it’ll display it. I’m guessing it’s possible to do this by adding a filter for the_content and the_excerpt, but I wouldn’t know how to code it.
I’m using the 2012 theme. Thanks again for this great plugin.
Hi, I set this up a few days ago, and it was fine, but my name has disappeared now and I can’t work out how to get it back! my website is here.
Thanks!
Hey it seems that the author is being displayed as expected in the pages / posts in main container, but when in sidebar it is not.
Am I doing it wrong ?

First off, really like this plugin! Question – does it support custom post types? I’ve created one, and I’m not seeing the checkbox on the bottom that says, “Hide author for this article (Post Author plugin)”; I’m only seeing the list of authors, and the author info. is displaying in the post (and I want to hide it.)
Thanks.
hello,
i have a gym site with 6 team members and in each member it shows author and i dont want it. on the edit page there isnt a hide author option. how i can manually disable it on those pages?
i think you must include in your plugin the option to select the specific custom post types we want it to show (the custom post type is coach and Add author to Posts is the only one selected)
is there a shortcode to siable post author on a specific page or post type?
this plugin is exactly what i want although in my page it doesnt show anything. is it possible for a shortcode in order to place it manually?
thanks
When viewing post from the archives the author doesn’t appear as part of a given post.
I am testing the post author plugin, but the image won’t show up. Is there a specific size that it wants. It only states that there is a 2MB limit.
I can’t change the author of the article.
When I choose a different author it always come back to the same author once I save the page.

On product description pages, the Post Author (me) is being shown. Unfortunately, when I go to edit a Product Page, the checkbox to hide the author is no there. Any ideas? Thanks.

Where does the plug-in pull the Author Avatar from. It’s not one of the User Settings. Am I missing something?
Hello,
I have been using the plugin and it’s been great. I was wondering if there is a way to add multiple author names to a post? Any modification to the code that can help do this?
Thanks.
I have Related Posts and Jetpack plugin installed.
In posts the “Author field” is below related posts and the jetpack social icons plugin. I want the author field to be just below my post, where and how can I change that?
We are using the Shuffle WP theme. In the settings area I’ve unchecked the add Post Author to Pages but it is showing up in the Portfolio pages. While there is an option to opt-out of Post Author for our Pages, there is no such option for the Portfolio pages. How can I remove it from our Portfolio pages but still keep it on our post pages?
Here’s an example:

I noticed that there is another post with the same topic in here, but since it doesn’t show an answer and it was long time ago I decided to make another one.
I just wanted to know how can I get the authors name in te front page of my blog. I hope someone can help me.
Regards, Luis.
Hi, I’ve activate plugin and it works ok, except one thing.
In admin, when I’m editing a post, the box to edit the author of the post does not appear. However, when I’m editing a page it does, and I can change author in it.
Could you say me what’s wrong with it?
Thank you very much!
where can I change the location of the plugin
this would be just below the article should be
So just in the content
Since the code repeats the authors name if the same author modifies the post, I suggest making the following change to the code to the condition for adding the revising author:
&& $modified_author <> $author) { /*MSB added AND condition*/
as in
// NOW ADD REVISION
if ($options[‘post_author_modify_author’]==’on’ && $modified_author <> $author) { /*MSB added AND condition*/
if ($post_date != $modified_date) {
$content .= ‘’.$options[‘post_author_modified_before’];
$content .= $author_modify_link_start;
$content .= $modified_author;
$content .= $author_link_end;
$content .= $options[‘post_author_modified_after’].'’;
}
}
Hi, thank you for this great plugin. I`ve read the topic in this forum about changing font size, buy I couldn’t find how to do it. I’ve tryied but it was imposible. Do you know which code should I change or ad and in which line? I need to change to a smaller font size.
Thank you so mucho
María
My author tags won’t appear on page where blog excerpts appear:https://aea.us.org/news/aea-newswire.html
But they appear on individual pages such as this one: https://aea.us.org/news/aea-certifies-multifamily-properties-in-greenpoint-rating-system.html.
Why and how do I fix this?

[No bumping, thank you.]
I’m new to running a wordpress blog, and unfortunatley the custom theme I have set it up with doesn’t show the author’s name, which is very frustrating. I googled and found some code to post into the index.php single.php and it still doesn’t show my (author’s) name on my posts.
So…I had to get a plugin, and I chose this one.
Trying to edit the plugin by hand is impossible for me, because it is a wall of hieroglyphics I do not even begin to understand.
When I make a post, the image inside the post forces the “posted by” and my name to be all smushed and messed up.
I’d also like to be able to remove “last revised by” and have it just display the date, thanks.
So can you remove the blue hyperlink look from the Author Name. I still want it to be a hyperlink but I don’t want it to be blue or underlined. Not sure where to look in the CSS for the Post Author code.
Using theme 1229, The “Latest news” displays 3 posts at a time, with author photo, date of creation, author name and PART of the content.. I want to get rid of the content and/or excerpts.. Want to just dispay author photo, date of creation, author name.. how do I do this?
Thx!
Where does post author inject it’s self into the word press theme. I cant seem to find it. We are using avenue theme by https://themesector.com/ and although the have a similar option yours is way better. I can shut off their code but its placement is in a better spot than where your injects. see example here https://www.sponsoredbythelettert.com/?p=1051 I can supply any code/pages necessary. They use a “featured image that seems to inject before the content/body variables.
What I want to do is see the author noted below the post title on the front/home page. That is, the author name only seems to come up on the post’s permalink page. Not all of our posts require a “read through” and most people will not be clicking the post title to go to the permalink page.
Is there a way to have the author name listed below the post title on my blog homepage? I hope so. So many posts are read only on the front page without clocking through.
Thanks!
Dan
