I have been using this plugin for a couple of years. It still works perfectly and I’m using it on WordPress 4.9.8 running Twenty Fifteen theme.
Perhaps it can be updated officially to WordPress 4.9.8?

The data is not real. I installed the plugin on my new site with a few new posts and I quickly noticed one post got a lot of hits. It says: 68 hits
I was surprised and wondered. So I carefully watch it, and use Google Analytics to compare. On Google Analytics, I don’t have any traffic for my site. I use the Real Time of Google Analytics to watch and there was no one got on to my site (I even closed all tabs that was mysite) – I refesh the backed and the hits increased and it make me lost trust with this plugin.
After watching these things for 3 hours, I am now about to remove this plugin.
Sorry for a bad review but wrong data means totally useless.

I run several membership sites, and this plugin tells me just what I need to know. The options (a) to disable specific user roles (like admins) from the hit count and (b) to specify on which posts the hit counter will work, are wonderful.
While it’s possible to reset the hit counter on each individual post, it would be great to have a “nuclear option” button that resets everything at a stroke. But the plugin is easily worth 5 stars even without that!

Does what it says on the box – busy adding this to a clients site and it works beautifully.

It’s nice plugin, a bit needed work to be better, such as work on users. Whch users click on which post.
Also a black list of users whom can’t count.

This is a good plugin and does what it says. But if you intend to have registered users on your blog. The registered users can see the hit counter at the top of the page. I personally don’t want this, since I have a site that has been around a long time and just installed this plugin, so it makes it look like to my registered users that my site is not a very popular one. If this could get fixed it would be a 5 star rating.

I really appreciate this plugin. I wanted something simple and to the point and Post Hit Counter delivers just what I was looking for. Plug and play installation, no brains required. Thank you devs
