Downloaded free version of plugin. Followed Mr. Hoppe’s installation instructions. The 2 sample posts did not appear on the page. Tried the short codes. Did not work.
Reread installation instructions. Read the lastest 10 “See what others are saying” messages. Tried some of the solutions discussed in the messages. Tried the short codes again. Visited Mr. Hoppe’s web site. Still did not work.
Your mileage may vary, but my configuration was unsuccessful.
If I have time, I may try to deactivate all my other plugins, then reactivate one by one.

The plugin should show a listing of all template files (identified as template by the function Find_Templates() localiezd in the templates dir of the theme, but does not.
I’ve tried what ocpplus says in the post : https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/post-page-associator-missing-template-section?replies=7 without success.
All others features seems to work.

]]>Titles display with the link showing part of the html in the link. The problem is cosmetic but not great on the site. My theme is Atahulpa. Every one of the four templates has this issue.

I downloaded the last (not the latest)version of this plugin. I never used it because I was thinking about how to structure my site. Yesterday, I installed it but it didn’t have everything (probably because it was the version before the last WP upgrade)and also I was horrified at how it installed a widget that did nothing except demand money, filled up various bits if ny admin area with more demands for money and changed the layout of the Page admin area into a single column.
Ironically, if it had worked ok (and I am not blaming the plugin it was probably the wrong version) and NOT sent me demands via widgets that do nothing I would have sent a donation when I got some work. I always do for clever people on the net who make things……..
So, having never used it, I deleted it. Now I have problems…..
I still canot have my page admin area in two columns it is stuck on one.
Posts and pages which were functioning fine yesterday, now have problems, images won’t centre in either and various other problems are occurring too.I am really upset as I do not have much time to get an online portfolio together so I can get work.
It must have altered something – but Mr Plugin maker (or anyone else) how do I put it right? Do I really have to uninstall WP and my Theme and start all over again to install?
Please could you advise?

I have the plugin installed and I can see the association page options, but nothing shows up on the page. I am using the shortcode provided in the description “[associated_posts]”. Nothing. Broken.
]]>Ok, I like the basic functionality of this plugin, but I HATE the spamming of the admin interface. The dev asks for “donations” for the pro version that doesn’t have the ads. So basically, if I want the ad removed from the footer, sidebar, dashboard and everywhere else, then I would have to give a “donation” of $30 and a monthly charge for support and updates. That’s a lot of money for any plugin. This dev is spamming and ripping people off.
Now, since I need the basic function of the plugin and I don’t feel like getting ripped off, I have no other choice but to edit the plugin to remove the spam.
WordPress should remove the plugin and warn against it until the dev can learn to be professional. If all the other devs start spamming and holding our admin interface hostage for a ridiculous “donation” amount, then our admin interfaces would be impossible to work in. WordPress, nip this in the bud before it gets out of control.

And I know that Post Page Associator worked before Jetpack was installed.

But what I really wanted was a way to introduce and describe the category, and this works much better then a sticky post would have because its right there without having to open a post to read the intro. Just upgraded to 3.2RC1 and PPA is no longer visible on the Page creation / edit screen. The donation request on the dashboard is there however. Could the author confirm that PPA works with 3.2 before I make a donation?
This also happens on a clean install, no plugins running except that one on the default theme.

Before I purchase the pro version and other pro versions of your plug in I have a question about your plugin.
I am using your free version of Associated Posts. Even when select more than 4 posts in the custom section of a category that has more than 4 posts – this includes leaving “Number of posts:” at both 10 or blank – I only see a maximum of 4 posts.
Is this related to my theme design or related to the fact the free version has a restriction of up to 4 posts versus the pro version?

I tried do use your plugin and the plugin “wp-pagenavi” to display a pagination on my pages but it doesn’t work.
I did a query_posts width the “paged” attribute but don’t work when i use while ($associated_posts_query->have_posts()) : $associated_posts_query->the_post();
The pagination work fin with while (have_posts()) : the_post();
Do you have any solution to use your plugin with a pagination ?

]]>Hi…I am only a consultant, and use the basic versions of plugins to ease clients into new functionality. And I have a few almost sold on associator… AND now its gone? Because of a spam spat? I hope you get back in the game. It is, or was, a great product, and wordpress is the perfect community to stress test your concepts. People will pay/donate for the upgrade and customizations… you dont need all the banners outside your settings page… in fact, anywhere else it only confuses/irritates non-tech users getting use to wordpress, the end client who pays the bills and could cut you a check. food for thought.

?Is it possible to use the shortcode [associated_posts] twice with different settings on the same Page ? The first one [associated_posts=1] calling articles with a certain tag, the second one [associated_posts=2] articles with another tag ?
It doesn’t seem to be the case in the free version, is it in the Pro version ?
?If not, is it possible to sort the articles by tags in the Pro version ?

]]>I have a problem with the next and previous messages. When I open a message on a associated posts page, those next and previous don’t go to a message of the same category. They just bring you to the next message, regardless of the category.
How could I resove this?
Does anyone know of a plugin much like this that works and is free?
The price seems ok but now he wants monthly payments as well, that has gone to far. Time to uninstall and look for another way.

1. Reactivate Plugin
2. Reinstall Plugin
3. Delete and Recreate Pages w/ post associations
Still not working!!

Hi Dennis, the Cart66 shortcode [add_to_cart] expands properly when I choose full content. But if I choose default template (and put the shortcode in the excerpt], it just shows [add_to_cart] on the page of posts.
My problem is that the full content is much too big. Can you think of a way round this? I don’t think it is a problem of Cart66 specifically, I think it is some sort of different handling od excerpts.

]]>I tried this out on a site I’m building and it doesn’t work. When I attempt to assign posts to a specific page, the posts only show on one page but will not show on others. I tried to use the Blog Page template that is part of my theme but the Theme options override WordPress options and displays ALL posts on the blog pages accordng to ALL categories.
