hi,
When we write posts (or pages) with elementor builder (free version), can we use the plugin to convert it to pages/posts too ? no bug ?
Or does this plugin only work with no-builder, so only with posts/pages based on blocks ?
]]>I am trying to convert WOO products to posts. Works, but with one problem: My products use the short description and that is converted to the Excerpt of the new post and it should be the new main content.
Any idea how I can change this? Thx in advance!

]]>Hi,
I have a blog with a combination of pages/posts/articles (a custom post type), and I’d like to convert everything to a post, which I’ve tried and works great with this plugin. The only issue is, there are like 1200 posts and many of them have urls that have been shared. I would like to be able to change the post type and also have a redirect, or other method where there the original url will land the visitor on the correct post. Thanks for any help!
]]>as mentioned in the title
]]>Hi and thanks.
I just changed a Post to a Page in order to remove the required (?) title. This went great.
But I have, over the past years, emailed a LINK to the old Post type to many people, and of course, there’s no way to reach out to update those links. If you click on one of those emailed links now, it goes to my generic 404 page.
I’m about to start looking around for a Redirect plug-in, but figured I’d see if you had any suggestions. Would love to not have to install yet another Plug-in!
Best and thanks
Lance
Hi all. I am very new to all this! I have made some posts which i want to be pages. I have installed the post type switcher and activated it, so i can swap a post to a page. However, when i do that, the “new” page has no content on it, only the title. What am i doing wrong please? I’ve tried switching using quick edit, or normal edit on WP, removing the post from a category, creating a new parent page – but i can only get the content back if i change it back to a post. I’d be grateful for any help! thank you

]]>Hi, I’m trying to convert simple posts to post type “event” of the “the event calendar” plugin, but once converted if I open the post it generates a 404 error. can you check why?
]]>I am having the same problem as someone else on here. When I manually installed the Post Type Switcher plugin (was not present when I searched WordPress’s Plugin Library) it appeared to be disabled with no way to activate it. When I tried to activate it, I received this message:“post-type-switcher” has been deactivated, it deletes data necessary to manage your site and is not supported on WordPress.com. I don’t know if it’s because I am using Elementor to build my site or because I am using WordPress.com instead of .org or what the deal is because everyone recommends this plugin but I can’t get it to work.
]]>Hi! Was hoping to convert a page into a post using the Post Type Switcher plug-in but upon checking, it says “NOT SUPPORTED” even though it says that it’s compatible with my version of WordPress. (here’s the link to screenshot for your reference: https://ibb.co/tzGtYRL )
I did try just installing it regardless to see if it works and it didn’t The option to switch it in the edit page/post page doesn’t show up even after I installed the plug-in. I also can’t “activate” the plug in, it automatically just says disabled and it’s not clickable.
I also checked my version of WordPress / PHP etc and they should be ok so not sure what’s wrong here. I’m a newbie at wordpress and just helping out updating stuff every now and then so I’d be grateful for your help. Thank you so much!
]]>Can someone please tell me WHY the latest update of this plugin has been set to have the required PHP version at 8.0?
Considering that PHP 8.x isn’t fully compatible with WordPress, I Don’t think this is a good decision at all, this basically means this plugin cannot be updated (particularly in my case).
I don’t run any sites on PHP 8 because as stated by WordPress here (https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/handbook/references/php-compatibility-and-wordpress-versions/), it’s not yet fully compatible.
It’s my strong opinion that this should be changed, so the plugin can be updated on 7.4 and above. Even WordPress state the recommend version if 7.4 or higher (https://www.ads-software.com/about/requirements/)
]]>Is it possible to add functionality to the plugin so that a copy of the existing post type is retained? I am in the process of switching post type functionality and I would like the original to be retained until I make all the changes.
]]>Greetings!
We are using the Post Type Switcher plugin on our website at reputation.com. As part of our ISO27001 and SOC2 Type II certification requirements, we do an annual vendor risk assessment.
We have a questionnaire for the owner/administrator of the Post Type Switcher plugin that we need completed in order to maintain our certification requirements. Who should I send this questionnaire to, along with supporting documentation?
Thank You

Hi!
I’m seeing this error in my local wordpress setup:
Root composer.json requires wpackagist-plugin/post-type-switcher 3.2.1 (exact version match: 3.2.1 or 3.2.1.0), found wpackagist-plugin/post-type-switcher[3.2.1] in the lock file but not in remote repositories, make sure you avoid updating this package to keep the one from the lock file.
and notice that 3.2.1 is missing from wpackagist – https://wpackagist.org/search?q=post-type-switcher
and then notice that the version seems to be missing from WordPress itself as well.
Did it get deleted for some reason?
Hi guys, everything seems ok, it moves the contents but it doesn’t move the categories and tags.
Is it possible to do this?
The theme I was using created a custom post type (Articles) and now I would like to switch to another theme and therefore need to move the contents from articles to posts.
]]>After upgrading WordPress to 6.4.2, our website can no longer be edited. This appears to be due to incompatibility with Post Type Switcher plug-in. Has anyone else ran into this issue and is there a fix?
]]>Hi,
I’ve been using this plugin for years with success, even since 2013, but it doesn’t seem to recognize custom post types any longer. For instance, if I attempt to switch post types (from post to the custom post type created with ACF), it doesn’t show it in the dropdown). Nor when I edit the post directly and try and switch the post to CPT.
Any suggestions?
]]>Beware this plugin do not work with Admin Columns.
]]>No updates for 10 months ??
]]>Being able to switch the type from the “all posts” screen would be amazing. A user could select all or filter by category and then hit the convert button. Not sure how hard that is to implement but it would make it even faster and more convenient to use!
]]>Hello,
I kindly ask if it is possible, with the Post Type Switcher plugin, to import or convert Custom Post Types into WooCommerce products.
Many thanks.

Hi,
Please, is it working with orders?
I cannot found the switch button in the order page.
Best regards,
hi, it seems such a simple question, but i didnt find an answer.
can i deinstall this plugin after use?
thanks, julia
I used the bulk edit option to change 80 Pages to Posts but when I try to edit the Posts the normal post editing panels such as Featured image, Categories, Tags etc are missing. If I create a new post they are there as they should be. I am using the Guttenburg editor. Can you help as these pages are not much use to me as Posts without these features.
]]>I changed the post type on about 50 pages from “Page” to “Post” and even though the pages were published before some posts they are all showing together at the end of the archives.
If they were being sorted truly by “published date” they would be interspersed with all the other posts.
Hitting a wall here, is there anything I’m missing?
]]>I’d like to limit the user’s ability to change post types to just types that support the block editor. Unfortunately I can’t do this with the existing pts_post_type_filter
filter since get_post_types() can’t filter by supports without requesting an exact match. My only solution right now tacking on an internal-use argument, which I have to patch onto the Post and Page post types.
A pts_post_types
filter on the result of Post_Type_Switcher::get_post_types()
would be ideal.
Hi, thank you for the great plugin!
I would like to create a cron job with PHP in which post types are switched. Do you have an example for me how that would look like in PHP?
For example something like that:
require_once(ABSPATH . ‘wp-content/plugins/post-type-switcher/post-type-switcher.php’);
$post_ID =223;
$post_type =’archive’;
set_post_type( $post_id, $post_type );
Thanks!
