Finally!
This great little plugin works wonders for sorting both categories and posts. It also works for custom post types and even for Bricks templates (you have to toggle the advanced switch in the plugin’s settings first and then select it).
My OCD can now be put at rest.

Hello,
we have more than 3 hundred or more posts on this plugin page and it’s too much on one page so the web browser is crashing (newest firefox, 8GB RAM) I recommend you to create switchable pages: 1…2…3 >100

This plug-in used to worked well, even with all my plugins. For whatever reason it no longer works at all with the last few versions of WordPress. As far as I have tested: it is not a conflict with a theme, plugin(s) or page/custom post type.
Update: works now, just need to manually configure for each post type now, was working by default before. A bit confusing. For more info: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/drag-and-drop-not-functioning/

With custom post types won’t work, if you use ACF won’t work.

The admin sort drag & drop still works on these, but not the special interface.
Also, the “Use query ASC / DESC parameter” option does not work well. To get the posts to display on a CPT archive in the order shown in the admin, this option must be unchecked; but with this option unchecked, you cannot use order parameter to change the order.

A plugin you must have if you run a site with a lot of products / you want to sort your products easily. Works Perfect! I contacted NSP CODE support to fix a small discrepancy that was with my Theme Filter, and Dan who supported me just did not give up until he found a solution.
