This is a new issue for me. Your plugin has been great and never had any problems with it. Today I noticed my publish article button was nowhere to be found. I deactivated every plugin and reactivated them one by one. Your plugin was the only one that made the publish button disappear, and I have no idea what to do. I like your plugin, but I need to be able to publish blog posts. What do you think I should try to do?
]]>Hi,
it seems that the “Disappearing Update Button” issue is back, i.e. the “publish” respectively the “update” button only appears when all boxes are checked, even with the “warn” or “do nothing” option active.
Anything I can do about this myself?
Thanks and kind regards
Franz
The “Pre-Publish Checklist” plugin needs to be editable in the Post Screen. The check list needs to be displayed with editable checkboxes, not a progress bar. The check list also needs to be editable in multi-edit mode.
]]>Hi,
I’ve posted about this before and I thought it was resolved with the release of the 1.1.2 version of the plugin however it has now cropped up again.
On published pages the update button disappears unless a user selects a item from the checklist.
Thanks
Ever since the latest update, I haven’t been able to save changes to the checklist when I save a draft or schedule a post. I never go directly to publish on the site I’m using this plugin on (I always schedule the posts), so that may be an issue too. If I have all the boxes checked and I schedule the post, when I refresh the post’s edit page, it ends up unchecking all of the checkboxes as if they were never saved at all.
When I revert back to the previous version 1.1.1, it works fine. I’m guessing there is an issue with the AJAX Request Handling improvement that was added to the latest version.
]]>Hi,
I’m following up on a support issues I submitted a week ago to see if there’s been any updates on what’s causing the disappearing update button and if this is considered a bug that will be fixed or a feature that will be left in so I know how to proceed when contacting clients.
Thanks
I’m using the Pre-Publish Checklist version 1.1.1 and i’ve noticed across several of my sites that when editing an already published post the ‘Update’ button disappears from the top right corner of the editing section the only way to make it reappear is to click on any of the checklist items which brings it back and allows the user to make their changes.
This happens when using either the ‘Prevent User from Publishing Page/Post‘ or the ‘Warn User Before Publishing‘ settings. To clarify even when using the former option the user only has to tick one item to make the button appear.
This issue is not happening across all of my sites using the plugin and after testing multiple possible factors the only obvious shared characteristic across the affected sites is that they’re running WordPress 6.3 or greater.
Can this be looked into as i’ve had several clients asking why the button is no longer there.
Kind regards,
I’m using Pre-Publish Checklist 1.1.1 and the plugin is adding a Filter dropdown to the Post list screen. I’m not sure why a Filter would be needed for this plugin, but when trying to use it there is a fatal error. Is there a way to remove the Filter? I can’t find a way in the settings. Maybe a function to remove the filter?
]]>Hey there!
The plugin is so helpful. But it lacks only when you want to create more than 1 checklists for different post categories.
For news articles, I want to show a checklist to my authors, and for guide articles, I want to show another list there, but it seems like it’s not possible, or I may be wrong.
Is there a solution to this?
Best regards
]]>This is a great plugin that is very helpful for our publishing process. We have an extensive list with about 25 entries that need to be checked before publishing.
As we frequently update our posts, one thing is sorely missing: The ability to uncheck all entries with a single click. Or even better: Uncheck all checkboxes when the post is being published. That way, when there is a revision of the post, we don’t first have to manually uncheck 25 checkmarks before going through the list again.
]]>Just happened to be checking my error.log for a website I installed this AWESOME plugin on and it keeps repeating this error:
PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/pre-publish-checklist/classes/class-ppc-pagesetups.php on line 73
PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/pre-publish-checklist/classes/class-ppc-pagesetups.php on line 88
Is there something that can be done to fix this?
Thanks!
]]>Can you confirm whether this shows up only for Admin or is this available to every user role?
]]>Hi
This plugin does not work for drafting. Can it work Pre-Draft instead of Pre-Publish?
We have a team of writers and we want this checklist to work when drafting.
Thanks for including this feature in the next update.
Hi, would it be possible to setup different pre-publish lists for different taxonomies? That would be very useful.
Thank you
]]>Hi everyone.
Is there a way to show the widget only for users with role as admin or editors?
I’d like to hide it for authors.
Thanks in advance.
]]>when updating an old blog post, if you ask me, it shouldn’t ask to checklist
maybe its worth adding a button in the settings, ignore update blog post
Hi, I’m using oasis workflow and it would very useful that one can create a checklist that is linked to a specific target state. I mean, lets say the post is in review, so then a checklist configured for showing when a post is in review should be shown. This way we can have the checklist working through out the workflow and preventing the workflow from moving until the checklist is complete.
]]>After checking the media checkbox and after saving the settings the checkbox is empty again.

Hello,
I have a problem when using the plugin.
I have activated the : Prevent User from publishing pop-up on on the pages.
When I create a new page / or update an old one, if I don’t check at least on task of the checklist, I won’t get any popup message telling me I have to check all the remaining tasks also before publishing – and it published the page.
Is it possible to activate publishing blocking even when I don’t click on any task from the checklist yet ?
]]>Hello,
is it any reason to manage only the public posts?
The post type can be private due to hiding it from the search results/archive but it can still be displayed through different shortcodes/templates.
Thanks
Artem
Great plugin, but it does not support translation to other languages. The plugin is not ready for localization.
]]>You added my 3rd request on my previous list of 3 requests: per-CPT lists! That’s awesome, thanks so much. This allows us a lot of flexibility.
Now I’m wondering if some of my other requests from that post can get some attention:
Either would be really help for our workflows. The first one because it keeps people honest: they can’t just check “add relevant categories off” without adding categories. It would only be completed when they’d actually added 3 categories. Or check “add featured image” without actually adding one.
The second because there’s always stuff to do after the post goes live. You want to share your content around. This list would be perfect for that.
]]>Hello!
Thanks for the excellent tool! I would like to request the option to create checklists for different post categories.
I see that the tool supports custom post types which is excellent, but if I’m working with a site that uses ACF without CPTs, and have different fields assigned to different categories, currently I am limited to only creating one checklist for “posts.” I can’t create different checklists for the underlying categories.
Hope that makes sense. Thank you in advance!
Jake
]]>Hi,
This is a long needed plugin. We love it! Thank you for making it available for us.
However, there is a minor bug with this plugin. It does not retrieve the translated Publish button. Instead it overwrites the user language and always show Publish in English.
Will you be able to look into this issue?
Thanks.
]]>Hi,
I want to know if this plugin support custom post type or only default posts and pages ?
]]>I would love it if I could have a custom checklist per post type. I like to create CPTs and would like custom checklists depending on the items in that CPT.
]]>I mentioned this is my plugin review but thought I’d post it here too to see if anyone else is interested in this feature:
It would be really good if you could show the checklist completion percentage (maybe as a progress bar?) as a column on the post list (/wp-admin/edit.php). It would be really useful for seeing at-a-glance how close each post is to being complete and ready to publish without having to go into each post.
]]>I had an already published post (from before installing the plugin), and tried to change it to “pending review” but the plugin prevented me until I checked all the boxes. Should only block publishing or scheduling.
]]>Hi, I’m glad I found this plugin. It’s great and suits are needs really well. But I have some ideas that could really make it even more useful:
I look forward to the future of this plugin and hope you’ll implement some of these suggestions.
