Hello,
with lighthouse, it works on desktop but not mobile. in PSI, it shows the warning for both. I checked the page source and the tag is there. I even added both images for desktop and mobile and checked “as” option.
The image in questin is the top bg image.
Thanks

How about if we cache HTML – would it still preload the right image for mobile if HTML was cached via desktop?
Hi, is it possible to automatically set the preload on all featured images of my website? Not manually?
Hi, I’m testing this plugin out on a development site. I have an image set for the home page, but see the following console error:
Preload of xxx.xxx.xxx ignored due to unknown “as” or “type” values, or non-matching “media” attribute.
Looking at the source code, the type=""
attribute is indeed empty. Does this impact the page’s performance?
It also doesn’t appear that the mobile image is preloaded. Then again, I’m checking on a desktop.
I’m using the GeneratePress theme. Also using the Block Visibility plugin to determine which LCP image shows up on a given device.
what if my LCP is text?
This plugin is exactly – or almost exactly – what I need. Astra’s Custom Layouts editor can be set to place the preload code in he desktop page or the mobile page, but simply in the “header” and not the
of the header. This plugin places it in the
of the page but doesn’t distinguish between desktop or mobile.
Is there a plugin that’ll allow me to designate on viewport of the other?
Jeff
