Support provided great support when we encountered an issue, being plugin customers!
Powerful plugin and we cannot easily live without it. It can become a bit complex, but it is logical.

You guys are the best. Simple ui. Just works. Easy to restrict categories and sub-categories. My first review on a plugin in 5 years of wordpress development. Props!

This plugin along with PublishPress Capabilities gives me the ability to grant access to specific pages on a page-by-page basis. Exactly what I needed!

Hi, I have installed the plugin but I cannot find how to hide a user role.

We were happy to come across this plugin. We have several groups of users who need access to differing sets of pages. This plugin worked like a charm. Nice job to the devs.

Just make sure you don’t disable filtering for anonymous users, or you can’t block logged out users.

Too complicated to setup and interfers with other plugins.
Support tickets get fast replies but even if the developer know a fix they wont release it within time because they don’t care about second level bugs but money only.

Necesitaba controlar el acceso a determinadas categorías por parte de ciertos usuarios y este plugin me he resultado ideal.

I’ve used this plugin since what I recall was it’s earlier incarnation as RoleScoper, a very helpful plugin in supporting the way I set up my sites. Kevin fixed a recent issue I had very quickly. Always found him to give excellent support.

I’m a fellow plugin developer, and there was a conflict between our plugins. But Kevin got the issue resolved quickly and effectively. ????

Been using this version for a while now, and no problem so far. Works beyond expectation, considering I’m using the free version. Would recommend to upgrade to pro version.

Fantastic people!

I have tried several other plugins for the same purpose: I wanted to restrict certain post and media categories (with an additional plugin) to logged in users. Permit Press is the only plugin that works properly, it also hides menu items for the restricted category! I am really happy! ??

A comprehensive plugin, both effective and efficient: doing the right thing right. The support is even better.

Absolutely love being able to fine tune various things from allowing authors to revise other author’s posts (with their approval), members can assign other members to edit their posts, automatic user-as-post when people sign up, precise category permissions, and scenario based permissions. For example I could create a WP-tag that is assigned to a WP-post that is a region/organization/idea; then modify permissions of all posts assigned to that tag. This allows for regional moderators, hiding some tagged content, allowing revisions on not just category based but other specific criteria. Other perks include giving specific members special permissions, revoking for bad behavior, and not giving moderators too much power.
In 2018 I left Joomla swapping to WordPress which I missed it’s access control levels. PublishPress not only brought it back, it adds hundreds of variations to choose from. Members having auto generated posts allows for adding custom fields, members search integrated within content search, potential for mapping, likes, ect. When running into technical issues the staff are extremely supportive, quick to respond, and are welcoming. One of the better treasure finds this year.

The other plugins cannot block individual pages or posts for certain groups. This plugin can do it! It is exactly the missing plugin that WordPress needs compared to Typo3 or other CMS with much better rights management. It is exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks to the developers! In my opinion you need more attention.
@developer
I don’t use credit cards on principle. Can you add PayPal to your payment options? Then I would also order the Pro version for multiple pages. Thx.

I build a system in which clients accessed certain parts of a blog-like diary, seeing only content assigned to them.
Worked perfectly (after figuring out how everything worked ?? took a day…)
Highly recommend this.

The interface is slightly confusing at firstm but this is the only plugin that I know of where you can customize the individual posts that users can modify.

After the latest upgrade, I am now no longer be able to add exception to anything (post, page, users, events, etc). So basically PressPermit is not usable at the moment. I’ve contacted support but the issue was just marked as resolved without asking me for feedback at all. It’s still not working and we’ll be forced to look for alternative if there’s no help from “Support”.

I have spent over 10 hours trying to figure out a solution to hide posts with a specific tag, and also without another specific tag, from specific user roles. I couldn’t find anything with the exact conditions I need. This hides things from archive pages, from direct URL access, and even from the Divi blog module. Huge downfall: not hiding from search results. I have to use my own plugin to display different search results dependent on user role.
A less important note…In the circumstance that the user uses a direct URL, it would be nice to be able to have a “please sign in to access this” page (instead of 404) then redirect them back to the page they were trying to access.

I’m not sure I could use WordPress in my current company without this plugin. Its great
