Does this just mean it no longer works with the current version of WordPress?
]]>So 1.3 was the last version I could get to work well for me. I do not remember exactly why it keeps failing, I just know PressBackup is the one plug in I cannot upgrade. I keep an old copy on hand, and manually install it on all my sites.That works. ANd honestly, even that version is buggy- it only works SOMETIMES…. it is very unreliable. I click Backup Now (S3 or Localhost) and usually it will, but sometimes it looks like it goes through all the motions, but it never saves. THAT is sorta important in my book.
Anyway, I have gotten tired of always having this ask to upgrade, so I decided to try the new version… 2.5.1 right? So I install on a couple sites…
and it errors out:

]]>When I try to restore the file, I get the error “The backup file is invalid or it is empty. Restore process aborted.” I made this back up a couple months ago, and I’m worried the issue my be that I now have the wrong version of either PressBackup or WordPress. If that’s the issue, is there anyway I can determine what version was used to do the backup?

]]>I’ve been using PressBackup for about a month, and love it. It’s been running smoothly, until today. When I go to manually make a backup (necessary because I need to make some changes to the site), it gives an error, “Database Server return empty/wrong data.” I’ve no idea what’s gone wrong and can’t find an answer anywhere. The site is running fine. How can I get PressBackup running again?
]]>I want to copy a large site to a different domain (for development purposes), while still keeping the original site online.
I installed WP on the second site, and tried to restore the backup from the live site (uploaded from my computer), but got an error saying that files larger than 8MB cannot be uploaded. There must be a way around this – how can I restore a large site?

I’ve ended up in a situation where I am unable to log in to my WP Admin (probably because of some plugin conflict – but I can’t see the culprit in the plugin directory via ftp!).
So I want to restore a backup created by PressBackup.
How can I do that when I can’t login?

Just installed the plugin. Activate it. Before I could even sign up, it crashes my site. Error 503:

Plus, the compatibility check returned this:
Could not create a Cron Job Backup
Please be aware:
1) Running latest version both of WordPress and the plugin;
2) Host doesn’t allow for HTPP loopback connexion
3) Running WordPress cron
4) wp-config outside of installation folder

]]>I’ve just upgraded to WP 3.5 and plugin version 1.6. I made an automated update yesterday, before updating.
Now when I try to do a manual backup, the Backup Now (localhost) link is inactive.

Nothing happens when I click it — no errors are reported.
However, when I go to the Compatibility tab, a box states that
exec() has been disabled for security reasons

PS. The same thing happened on a multisite I run, and I thought that was the problem. However, the page is not a multisite. I updated the multisite in December, and automated backups have stopped. There, I get the same error.

I was able to backtrack to the old pressbackup version but have deactivated it to make sure it’s not causing more issues.

A backup was created for a site and it came out to 108 MB. I am unable to restore it as the upload limit is 8MB.
I have looked into increasing the upload limit for wordpress in various ways but none have really worked.

Every time I try to back up It will start downloading and then about halfway through I get an error message saying “Decompression Failed”.
I’ve tried adjusting the settings and it either does nothing or does download but when I try to un-zip it I get the error message “Error – No such file or directory exists”
I realise this may be an issue with my computer rather than the plugin but worth a shot!
I’m running the latest wp and plugin version, using safari in OS X Lion again all up to date.

Is there a way to specify when the backups start?
I’m working on a website in the afternoon and now it’s set to do the backup tomorrow at 11am. I would rather than the backup ran overnight. Is there anyway to change that?

I just installed the plugin, entered my S3 info, etc. When it was done, I clicked to make a backup (of evertthing) and got a 403 error.
This is the address I was taken to that generated the 403:

Trying to restore a whole backup does nothing after trying to load. File is 94MB so not sure if that is the issue although it is through dropbox.
So I tried to restore just the database which is 7.4MB but I am getting the following error when trying to : Wrong file type: application/octet-stream

]]>Well I guess, I said it all, I configured it well havent seen any error messages during the install.
I linked the plugin with my DropBox account, and it has succesfully created the “App” folder.I see that the backup goes well,it sends the backup to dropbox succesfully reaching the whole size, then the message appears.
Another problem I have is that if I choose to backup uploads also, it simply says that “zip file is corrupt”, but well I dont care about that much.
