the plugin does not work with PHP >7.4
any plan to upgrade it?
thanks
We noticed this plugin uses the create_function method which is deprecated in php 7.2
I modified our copy to use a recommended solution to updating the code.
https://sarah-moyer.com/fix-create_function-deprecated-in-wordpress/
I am following the advice on this page an contacting the plugin itself to make this modification so my changes do not get overridden with an update that does not have this change.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
peace,
Michael
Hi there,
I appreciate how child categories are excluded along with the parents.
But does it not include grand-child IDs? I am seeing the grand-child (2 levels down) categories being rendered, even though the parent and the original grand-parent categories are gone.
Is this how the plugin works? Can you please confirm?
]]>Hi,
Are you going to release an update for this plugin? My security software is listing this as an abandoned plugin.
]]>Hello!
I would appreciate your help very much.
Want to exclude a specific category, found out its ID and saved it in the widget, but the category is still there.
Can you help me, pls?
Thank you very much!

]]>Hello,
I have a food blog and would like each post to only have it’s unique categories (not ALL categories) displayed in the side bar. For example, I want someone looking at a vegetarian curry recipe post to see all the other categories the curry dish has been categorized in, like Indian, vegetarian, spicy, etc.
Right now, I can only use the plugin to display all of the selected categories on all of the posts. I need to be able to customize each post’s categories individually. Can you please advise? Thank you!
]]>Hey There,
When using the Pro Category Widget I’ve been unable to either Hide or Show specific categories using the visibility function.
If you have a moment, could you please help me resolve this? Thanks ??

]]>Hi there… All of sudden after the upgrade, the dropdown style completely changed. See right sidebar on https://guitarpr.com/all-releases/ under “GuitarPR Categories”. Before, it looked like the others. Did you change something that would affect it. If so what?
Thanks,
Jeff
]]>The widget is not excluding categories at all.
You can see the page here: https://christinekoubek.com/blog/
I have categories 37,38 designated in the widget and yet they are still displayed in the list.
]]>When I select the categories to be displayed nothing happens. Could it be because this group has more than one level of child elements?
I have another dropdown that I installed with a different plugin and it works fine….
]]>Hello, i have problem to show specific categories of posts.

]]>Hi,
I’m a basic beginer…. I have a strange question about your plugin:
I wrote 4 differents articles in french (post in English ?), then, configured 1 main category and 2 sub categories as below:
Association
– conférence
– concert
2 articles have been configured in the sub category “conférence” and the two others in the sub category “concert”
My question:
On my web page, fom the sidebar where the widget appears if I click on “conference” how the 2 articles will be shown on the screen ?
Perhaps i am wrong in my understanding …
Many thanks

]]>Hi, I was suggested to use this plugin by my theme author, however when I add categories (or sub categories) to not show, it doesn’t hide them:
https://ebb.9df.myftpupload.com/ (top categories is your widget with ‘Life,Eat’ supposed to hide), and bottom categories is the themes category menu… both look the same.
Any ideas why this is not working?
Thanks.
