Getting a 404 when I change a Post permalink. Anyone know why? Custom Post Types and Pages work fine.

]]>We have added the Public Post Preview plugin and this works for the main WordPress pages and Post types.
However, we have a custom post type for spaces that has had custom work done to the permalink structure.
When sharing the preview link the link says this is expired. Do you have any suggestions what may be causing this?
Many thanks
We use the ppp_nonce_life
snippet, but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t and the preview expires too soon.
We set it to 7 days, but sometimes it expires after 2 days.
Is the expiry measured starting from the moment the preview link is generated? Or it works differently – measuring from some other date, like post creation or update?
]]>Hi all,
I have an issue..
After I created a preview – my partner cannot view the post.
I found out the preview: ‘domain/?p=52073&preview=1&_ppp=93cdb7c0f3’
is redirected to ‘domain/?p=52073’
Ff i deactivate the plugin, there is no redirection (I just get a 404 on the link)
I deactivated all my plugins, but the issue still is there. And even worse – it is not in my staging area .. ??
Sorry if I am wrong as I am using a translator.
Thank you for creating a very easy to use plugin.
The only problem is that sometimes text fields using Advanced Custom Fields are not displayed on external public URLs, although this is not a problem that occurs every time.
Sometimes it can be fixed by trying to delete the cache a few times or republish the URL.
The problem does not occur in the normal preview screen.
Is there any solution to this problem?
First, thank you for creating and maintaining a wonderful plugin. I fact, I recently shared your several people in a WordPress Meetup who were unfamiliar with Public Post Preview.
How might I disable the feature programmatically for specific post types?
In this support post, when you referred to Permissions Pro, were you referring to PublishPress Permissions?
]]>The Public Post Preview plugin is incompatible with the “Newspaper – News & WooCommerce WordPress” theme. Although the plugin creates links, they fail to function correctly. Instead of displaying the intended content, the generated URL redirects to different theme pages.
For instance, when attempting to share a draft post, the link redirects to a cloud template path such as /tdb_templates/blank-single-template/, despite the original link being ?p=75076&preview=1&_ppp=c2864df1d0.
Is there a possible solution or workaround for this issue?
]]>I’m getting a security alert from my Wordfence security plugin that the Public Post Preview Configurator plugin is a medium security risk ’cause it “appears to be abandoned.” Is that the case? Should I be concerned? Is it a security risk?
Thanks!
]]>Hi! The post preview is showing blank after sharing the preview then editing the page then sharing the preview again.
We’re using ACF to show content.
Here’s how I’m getting to this issue:
When on a page, I click the “Enable public preview” and then click “Save Draft” then I visit the URL within the “Enable public preview” field.
This works fine and looks good.
Then, I go back to the page editing screen and edit the content of the page, then click on “Save draft”, then visit the URL within “Enable public preview” field. This shows a page without any content.
It shows the header and footer of the website, but nothing within the content area.
If I don’t use ACF and just use the normal text editor, then it works fine. So I suspect some meta fields are getting lost along the way.
]]>After the last update I seem to have some issues with the preview links. I am getting feedback that they just see a blank page when opening it on a desktop or laptop. Besides that when sending a preview link in What’s app, the picture doesn’t load. So it’s just a plain link instead of the full preview screen including picture, like it was before.
]]>Hi there and thanks for this great plugin. It’s true that the public drafts are set to no-index
but I was wondering why they are still set to follow
links? I am asking because I am using Yoast duplicate post plugin to rewrite posts. The rewrite functionality creates a separate temporary draft that can be edited while the original post is live and then merged to the original once the draft change have been completed. I share a link of the temporary draft with the help of your plugin. The original post already follow links so I was wondering if there was any SEO inconsistencies with the temporary draft having links also followed even though it’s set to no-index.
Hi. I have a custom post type (in Pods) but public post preview isn’t showing. How can I add this function to custom posts in Pods?
]]>Hello, thanks for this great plugin!
I’m using the snippet example that is used on the main plugin page and set it to 60 days but the link still expires.
Is this snippet in seconds or days? The example shows 5 days but the snippet actually looks like it’s in seconds.
Also, I assume this goes in the functions file?
add_filter( 'ppp_nonce_life', 'my_nonce_life' );
function my_nonce_life() {
return 60 * DAY_IN_SECONDS;
}

Good morning
I have been using the plugin for a long time but now
I set a Premium content restriction system (Membership skyverge)
How the principle of a preview link could work with non-logged and non-premium temporary drives
thanks
]]>I have extended the expiry date using the provided snippet to 30 days, however is there a way to know the exact expiration date/time would be?

]]>I have two expired preview links from 05/08 that I need to recover…
There were some issues with my website, resulting in loss of content. Hence I can’t ‘just create’ a new link, the entire articles I wrote are gone. But I would be able to copy and recreate them if only the preview links hadn’t expired….
Any work around for this???

]]>We have been using this plugin on one of our website for a while now, but since WP was updated to version 6.2.2 it doesn’t work anymore. I know in the plugin description it says that it is only compatible up to version 6.1.3, but is there any way to get it work again on newer versions?
Thank you for your help!
]]>We are using this plugin the plugin does the job, but we have a cache plugin installed and enabled on the website. Due to the cache, we couldn’t see the changes in the preview link. Also when we disable the preview link it throws an error like below.
error while changing the public preview status.
@ocean90 Does this plugin stopped working or stopped giving support?

]]>Hello,
We are using your plugin on our site. We noticed the public preview links expired after updating WP core to 6.0.3.
We are able to generate new links by unselecting/selecting Enable public preview as a workaround. Is this expected behavior when updating WP, or should the links remain active until the preview period has expired?
Thank You.
]]>Hello,
Recently, the preview links no longer work in public.
The plugin always returns me a blank page. But the link works if I’m logged in as admin.
You can help me?
Thanks in advance,
]]>Hello,
Oxygen dynamic content for wp field (typically the title, featured, the content) is not going to be displayed when a user previews the post. *acf field are alright though
so I have read this thread
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/not-working-with-oxygen/
have not yet tested it. But if I have to do it. I will have many templates for the site to refine which is exhausting.
Any plan to release any fix on that?
thanks so much~
