As stated in the title, the plugin works fine with posts slugs but, when it comes to pages, it doesn’t work properly (in fact, it doesn’t work).

I have a site which is bilingual in Spanish/English, so it goes like this:

Posts:

Spanish: https://whatevermydomainis.com/titulo-de-la-entrada
English: https://whatevermydomainis.com/en/post-title

Pages:

Spanish: https://whatevermydomainis.com/titulo-de-la-pagina
English: https://whatevermydomainis.com/en/titulo-de-la-pagina

So, as you can see, in pages, it only adds the ‘en’ prefix, but doesn’t use the translated slug, but the default language one, as it should be ‘/en/page-title/, instead of ‘/en/titulo-de-la-pagina’.

Any hint on how could I solve it?

When I activate the plugin, it all works fine except, that at the end of the posts, I see this message:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in /home/mydomain/public_html/mydomain/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 887

Any idea about how could I fix it?

Thanks for your plugin, it’s a lightweight add-on but still does the job! So I’ve got the plugin up and running correctly, but I want to translate the /products-page/ url. So let’s say in english my WP e-commerce products-page has url https://mysite.com/store . In dutch it’s url is https://mysite.com/nl/store. But what I want it to have in dutch is https://mysite.com/winkel
So I want to have all the custom posts of wp e-commerce with a translated slug. Any directions on how to approach this problem?

Hello everyone,
I’m using qtranslate + qtranslate slug with widget and i have a problem:
my site is in italian(default) english, french, spanish and deutsch. I’ve added
<?php echo qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode('image'); ?>
to my header.php with css fixes to display flags. All seems to work but if I’m in a page like mysite.com/ciao and try to switch to the en language I get mysite.com/en/ciao but it should be mysite.com/en/hello, the same happens with other languages.
Can you help me?
I’ve noticed that the widget works fine, it translate the slug correctly, so I think the problem is in the code that I’ve added to header.php

I have a big problem:

1. I create a first page in default language: sitename.com/default-name-page
2. I change the slug of other language page: sitename.com/en/other-name-page

It works but still exist the page with the first name page of default language: sitename.com/en/default-name-page
Finally I have 2 page with the same content (for each page) and for SEO and Google, duplicate content it’s very bad.
I’m doing something wrong or it’s normal?

After installing your plugin the “quick edit” that is usually found under each page seems to have gone missing. When I disable your plugin it returns. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?

this is really a problem – I downgraded WP from 3.4.1 to 3.4, but it doesn’t solve the issue. And I have to upgrade WP anyway in order to keep it compatible with my other plugins. So I lose my permalinks if I do that!

Thanks for this great working plugin!

However I think it’s not changing the rel=”alternate” generated by qtranslate. all alternate URLs in the html header still have the same url:

test.com/de/path
test.com/en/path
test.com/fr/path

but links in the frontend are correctly localised. How can this be localised too – it’s generating a lot 404’s

I don’t know if the problem is from qtranslate itself or from this plugin but I will explain myself.

When content is not available for a language, a message shows, wich is ok.
The thing is, for example, I’m in “https://www.test.com/es/noticias/” and have a link to a post. When I use the link, the message shows, with the available languages to choose. But the links are wrong.

It redirects me to:
. https://www.test.com/en/noticias – but it should be https://www.test.com/en/news.
It preserves the page name where I am, just adds the language before.

Can anyone help?

Problem: menu link to page, selected as front page, appears with double slash after domain name.

This plugin has a typo in line 849 that makes the category slug saving impossible.

Where it says:

function save_qTranslateSlug_category_fileds ( $term_id ) {

must be:

function save_qTranslateSlug_category_fields ( $term_id ) {

I changed it and now the plugins works as intended, in case someone is having the same problem.

Hello I noticed a problem with the tag <link rel=”alternate”, for example I have this page, in English and Italian:

mysite.com/page-one/
mysite.com/it/pagina-uno/

The alternate link for the Italian page on the English version is:

<link hreflang="it" href="https://mysite.com/it/page-one" rel="alternate" rev="alternate" />

The correct tag should be:

<link hreflang="it" href="https://mysite.com/it/pagina-uno" rel="alternate" rev="alternate" />

Anyone knows how to fix this issue?

A couple of days ago my WordPress installation asked me to update qtranslate slug to 0.5. Since then although I have the option to input manually the translated slugs they are not generated automatically as they were until y upgrade the version.

I have downgraded the version and installed again the 0.4 version and I have automatic slug generation working again.

I’m using qTranslate Slug with Widget with WP E-Commerce. I see that you can translate title/description for products, which is good. The problem is that URL is not being converted properly for product. When browsing in foreign language, clicking product URL will display product but in original site language.

It would be nice to have slug support for WP E-Commerce product. As well would be nice for the URL to display properly so I can use WP E-Commerce on site with qTranslate.

thanks for this “must” plugin.

I was already using qTranslate plugin, so I css-styled (instead of using “image” parameter) the list produced by qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode(‘text’).

I replaced this function call with qTranslateSlug_generateLanguageSelectCode(‘text’) but the classes in the LI tag that indicate the language (class=”lang-en”) were lost so I modified qtranslate-slug-with-widget.php at line 793:

REPLACE

echo '<li';
if($language == $q_config['language'])
  echo ' class="active"';
echo '><a href="'.qTranslateSlug_getSelfUrl($language).'"';

WITH

echo '<li class="lang-'.$language;

Thanks for this plugin, it’s realy a feature who’s missing in the marvelous qtranslate.

I’ have set in the edit widget the 2 slug, but the /en/my-slug will redirect to a 404.
