After plugin activation a menu item for the plugin is created, navigating to it there is just a blank screen, no options & all images from the site disappear.

]]>Hi – I’m a little confused, first description says
Moves files uploaded through Media Manager to Cloudfiles automatically
but in FAQ it says:
Does this plugin handle theme or other plugin assets (Images, CSS, JavaScript)?
No.
What I’m looking for is a WP Multisite plugin to handle storing on Rackspace Cloud Files/CDN the wp-contents uploads folder including maintaining year and month folders.
Will this do that?
thanks

]]>Hey Richard,
Just installed your plugin into an existing site that has a considerable amount of images in it’s media library. When I activated the plugin it seemed to hang a little long. Checking the front end all the images had disappeared. Since the site is live and my concerns with breaking the site I deactivated the plugin. All is well…
The problem? I really want to use the plugin. I know I need to put in account info and click the upload button to get in going but my fear is anything it might do wrong or possibly break the site.
My concern is due to the large number of images that require uploading and the amount of time site will be down (if all existing images disappear up activation and remain gone until all images are completely uploaded).
I am hesitant to take that step.
Since this is relatively new plugin with not much going on in forum (good thing) and not that many downloads yet I guess my question is, does it work and are changes reversible if it fails (without going in and re-addressing each image manually).
Any insight into what I might encounter would be helpful.
This plugin would satisfy a huge need of many Cloud File users. A little more detail on what to expect during install on existing sites could be helpful
(all 18000+ images disappearing will raise your pulse. ??
Thanks

]]>I’m not sure what might be needed to overcome what seems to be an odd limitation but when a new image is added to the media library with the plugin active the path to the image is being given as the cdn path, except that that new image wont be on the cdn until the next cron and i wouldn’t think running the cron every minute would be a good idea?
Additionally, once the plugin is active and all the files are uploaded to the cdn, is it necessary to run a plugin like velvet blue to update all the image and file paths to point to the cdn?

]]>The manual upload of the files is complete, i can see the files on cloudfiles container, all looks good but still i get this error
Waiting on first upload
You have not run your first upload to the CDN. Click the manual upload button to move your existing files to the CDN and finish plugin activation. It does show “Found 0 files needing upload.”
I’d rather not delete the local files, i assume they can stay on the site and the CDN will still work.
I’ve setup the cron so I’ll see if it runs without problems.
How/when do the urls for the images on the pages update to show the CDN path?
I made a cname for the cdn url rather than the huge cloudfiles one, i assume its ok to do that and enter the cname into the plugin instead of the long cloudfiles one.
Thank you for creating this plugin, its really nice to have a simple setup interface.

]]>[Edit]: I realized that it was an issue with Cloud Files maintenance. Thanks!
I am having two issues:
1) When I click “Manual Upload” the operation is just timing out and nothing is being uploaded. It just will now say “9 Files Needing Upload” but nothing happens.
2) When the plugin is enabled, I get the following error that prevents files uploading to WordPress:
“Error: HTTP Error.”
The plugin had been humming along, but I don’t know what has caused it to break recently. Please let me know!
Thanks!

Thanks for all your work!

]]>Great plugin. Worked the first time right out of the box. Question: How do you recommend setting up a cron job to help keep files in sync?
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/rackspace-cloudfiles-cdn/
]]>Hello Richard,
tried your plugin, works well so far and looks promising.
I am looking for a way to get the uploads folder to a CDN and only there, so that the files don’t stay on the server longer than strictly necessary and take up valuable space.
And, ideally this would be completely transparent to the user. So she will just upload images and that’s it. No need to manually upload or sync them to the CDN or delete them afterwards.
Could that be the direction your plugin is going?
Thanks
Bob
