Plugin updates needed to be paid
-
This plugin was under MakeWebBetter in 2022, and I bought the lifetime license. A year later, they separated their business and moved WooCommerce plugins into WPSwings. Every year, I manually update the PRO version by downloading the latest version from my MakeWebBetter account. (Although updates should have been done automatically in WordPress since they need me to do it in this way, I’m still okay with that)
Until this year, 2024, I need to update the plugin again (otherwise, the PRO version doesn’t work as usual), but I cannot get the latest version of the plugin from my MakeWebBetter account. So, I had to contact the support. The support team from MakeWebBetter asked me to seek help from WPSwings, and I did.
I told the support from WPSwings about the issue, and it turned out the support team asked me to purchase 1 year of support, which costs $49 to get the updates and the latest version. I’m not happy and OK with this; since I have bought the lifetime license, updates and the latest version are the responsibility of the plugin developer should provided to the consumers. If there’s another cost for version updates, why would I spend money on buying a lifetime license? It doesn’t make sense and is NOT OK at all!
