Great plugin, useful and simple! Thanks Robert!
I’m embedding pages from ?Wikivoyage.org. The maps on the pages are broken so I’d like to remove that HTML. I have copied the selector from the Original Wiki (‘#mw-content-text > div.mw-content-ltr.mw-parser-output > div:nth-child(5) > div.mw-kartographer-container.thumb.tright’) and entered into ?RDP Wiki Settings > Hide HTML elements. It doesn’t remove the map and corresponding frame contents. Link settings are set to overwrite.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!
Original Wiki: https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Marseille
Section: Get Around
Quotation marks
The inverted commas around the URL must be omitted!
Is there a possibility to hide the “Part of a series on” box? It’s not relevant for my website and it messes up the formatting.
See an example of such a box here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balanced_scorecard
]]>Hello thank for your awesome plugin
When I use the short code in a part of my site for the Wikipedia info box, unfortunately the whole Wikipedia page is displayed and I use another short code and set the value to 0, I get a red error
Please help me to show only the information box on my site
thank you
The plugin comes with own css styles what are affecting my whole design. In the plugin settings there is no option to change or disable that.
Have a look at this archive page: https://www.raeucherwiki.de/category/anleitungen/bauanleitungen/
The links appear blue but should be green.
When plugin is disabled my colors are OK.
Any suggestions?
Best regards
Danyel
The elder, deprecated plugin that RDP_Wiki_Embed is inspired by (wiki_embed) had a very helpful feature in that a search executed on the WordPress site searched the cached embedded content as well. That would be extremely helpful to have again.
]]>Hello,
Using RDP plugins works well with en.wikipedia.org but don’t work properly with the french version fr.wikipedia.org
The embedding is ok but setting seems to not working properly (title and edit link not appearing, layout come with all the wiki page,…).
Have you got any idea to solve it ?
thanks
Is there any way that the search that generates can be intercepted in a manner that allows the Wiki to be searched instead of the WordPress site?
I am working on a bit of a workaround, for this, but it would be nice to have out of the box.
]]>dont understand what I could do wrong, but with every short I get the error :
ERROR: Could not resolve host: ’http

Hi,
I just downloaded your plugin and made a test with a link but receive this error:
ERROR: This url does not meet the site security guidelines.
I also tried to downgrade php version from 7.3 to 7.2 as suggested in a different support request but the error is still there.
How can I fix it?
I installed the plugin, but got that error.
I have wordpress 5.5.1–de_DE and PHP 7.
Do you have any suggestion what could be the problem and how to solve it?
This is my shortcode:
[rdp-wiki-embed url=’https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IU_(singer)’]
Hey Robert,
Great plug-in so far.
Whenever I click on a image in the wiki to enlarge, it shows as a broken image, or “image could not be loaded”.
]]>We’re getting this error on every page we use a rdp-wiki-embed shortcode:
Notice: Undefined index: hide_html in (…)/wp-content/plugins/rdp-wiki-embed/bl/rdpWEContent.php on line 95
Using version 1.2.17 of the plugin on WordPress 5.5.1
]]>There is a security error when I want to import my wiki.
I recently installed preperly wikiMedia on my website, where are no vulnerabilities or protocol error. Is there a way to solve this problem ?
The url of the wiki is https://parangonrp.zk-web.fr/wiki/
]]>If I put https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_time_travel_works_of_fiction#Time_travel_in_science_fiction_films in a shortcode, the plugin still grabs the whole page. Is there a way to grab just that section, or eliminate all the other sections?
Thanks.
Hi Robert, thanks for this great plugin!
The info box and table of contents look great on desktop & tablet don’t format properly on mobile, so aren’t really an option to use. Wish you could hide them on mobile.
Otherwise, perfect!
]]>Where are the instructions on how to use this? I had to search on here and all I found was something about a short code, which gave me a red box with the word “error.”
I do not understand why no one ever gives instructions on these plugins. It is assumed everyone knows how to use them. Very frustrating and extremely time consuming.

]]>I installed this nice plugin and created a test page, using the following shortcode:
[rdp-wiki-embed url=’https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stamp_collecting’]
When opening the page, you only see ERROR in red.
Isn’t this plugin supporting the latest php version?
This was working perfectly before, and I noticed today that it wasn’t working. I’m on the latest release of both wordpress and the plugin.
I’m not sure how long it’s been broken for.
Any ideas?
]]>The plugin works great but because they have that [ , ] after “Harbour” the plugin doesn’t recognize the url. Is there something I can do to get around this?
Thank you!
]]>I can’t get this plugin to work. I copied this line from the documentation but get an error:
[rdp-wiki-embed url=’https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Congress’%5D
Here is the error (this is repeated many times):
Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: invalid range in character class at offset 4 in /…/wp-content/plugins/rdp-wiki-embed/bl/simple_html_dom.php on line 1386
Maybe I just need to find a website where this plugin is being used properly to embed a wikipedia article. Then I can just copy the working line of code.
]]>Hello,
New user to this wonderful plugin yet I ran into an issue today.
I have a MediaWiki site that I’d like to embed and although it worked perfectly at first, now I’m getting an error.
ERROR: Not a valid wiki URL.

]]>Hi, ‘seems that the plugin is not compatible to PHP 7.2 oder 7.3 ? Using PHP 7.033 the plugin works fine. If it doesn’t work with 7.2/7.3, are you planning an update to match this requirements?
]]>Says strpos(): Empty needle in /mystuff/wp-content/plugins/rdp-wiki-embed/bl/rdpWEContent.php on line 154
Line 154 is this:

I read in these pages that this feature wasn’t part of the plugin a couple years ago, but wanted to check back. Is it possible to embed on a per-section basis?
Thanks!
]]>Hi Robert,
I use the RDP Wiki Embed plugin for months and today I tried to make improvements in the plugin to solve some of my problems. I pushed four commits on github.
First, I noticed that info boxes fetched from Wikipedia was not always identified by the CSS class named “infobox”. On the french version of Wikipedia, the class is named “infobox_v2” (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debian) or even “infobox_v3” (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPress). I updated the line 92 of bl/rdpWEContent.php
.
Second, I added an option to the plugin setting page to hide or show the title on every fetched wiki pages. It’s easier for me to define this for all shortcodes I use in all WordPress posts. I don’t want to add the remove option to each shortcodes I add. I think that default settings is the best choice for this kind of option.
Third, in the same way, I created a field to add HTML elements to hide from all fetched pages. I used to include pages from some Mediawikis that use another theme than the default one. Navigation menu and footer links are not identified with same tags, ids and classes in the templates of the theme. To keep pages lean and mean, I need to specify some selectors by myself.
I published modifications on github just to show you these. It would be great if you could agree to add these options in your plugin!
Thanks.
]]>Hello Robert,
I’m having trouble with the plugin. It says “Error: Unable to locate body of wiki content.”
I checked the forum, FAQ and the installation instructions but couldn’t find a solution.
Here is the code I use : (with ” instead of ‘ )
[rdp-wiki-embed url=”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropocene” toc_show=”1″ edit_show=”0″ infobox_show=”1″ unreferenced_show=”0″]
My WordPress is up to date and PHP is 7+
Thanks for your help
Kind regards
]]>The content of embedded wiki pages looks good, images also, but when I click on the image embedded inside the wiki page, I get the message: ‘The requested content can not be loaded. Please try again later. ‘
Images that are clicked directly in the wiki appear in the foreground, scaled according to wikicode.
How to make the images from the wiki display correctly through the RDP Wiki Embed plugin?
I can’t show my pages because they are on the intranet, but the case is easy to reproduce.
