Even though I found this plugin to work exactly as described in WP 4.6, it has been awhile since this plugin has been updated and I see it has scared some users off. This is sad because this is a great little plugin. Any chance we can get a version update to reflect current?
]]>This looks like a very simple way to create a series of posts and link them via category. Sounds very sensible. But, 3 years since it was last dusted off… I’d rather not risk the glitches with WP updates and other plugins.
]]>Is Really Simple Series compatible with PHP 5.4+?
Our email discussion group (Mailman) is running foul of new spam settings (DMARC and stuff – whatever that is.) Our web host is testing a setup with a new version of Mailman that’s meant to help these problems. That server runs PHP 5.4. They’re happy the latest version of WP should run fine but said I should check with the developers of the theme and plugins I use. before we try migrating.
Do you expect us to be OK?
Thanks.
]]>I love how Really Simple this is to use!
I love having the category page show the posts from oldest to newest.
I would love the plugin more if the list of posts in the series showed clearly which is the currently viewed post. So readers didn’t have to scroll back up to check the title of the current post and decide which is the next to click on.
Is there code to “unlink” the current post or change it’s formatting so it is easy for the reader to see where they’ve got to and where to go next?
My example is at https://www.hphl.org.uk and the series is Cherry’s Implant Blog. There’s an introduction currently on the first page, below the sticky post. I’m adding the blog in batches but the journal has been going for 3 years so there are a lot of posts! I guess I’ll need to subdivide as otherwise the Really Simple Series lists will be unmanageably long.
Can you add the option to the plugin and/or tell me what to edit where to do it? Hopefully the former as I haven’t yet had to edit files and don’t know enough about code to know what to edit where. Thank you.
]]>Love this plugin. Just having one problem: At the end of each post, the subheading “View all posts in this series” displays with the series links beneath it. Some display dates while others don’t. Is there a way I can hide all the dates?
The site is currently in development and is not viewable yet. I could take a screencap if that would help.
Thanks again for a great plugin.
