It didn’t work out as easily as I had expected. Some theme providers do everything to prevent you from deleting their credits. With some quick and competent support, and some careful copy/paste experiments, it finally worked.
Just deleting the footer text would have been much easier by adding a little piece of code in the customizer/footer section. But since I also wanted to add something new to the footer, this worked perfectly for me.

It seems to work, but not as intuitive as it should be. You need to copy the code that makes up the footer porting you wish to move and paste that into the box. Wish there as a way to simply way to remove it.

This is a cool plugin, and a lot more simple than many other ways to change the footer copyright, which I was so glad of. I think I messed up some page code while working with it though, and it temporarily messed up my page layout. It’s better now, though I still don’t know how it fixed. ?? But, I ended up using a different plugin to change my footer copyright, that was even simpler and more straightforward than this. This was the next best though!

it worked to remove what I wanted from my footer in the default language of my web, but I have a translation made with TranslatePress, so when I switch to the other language the footer appears again.
How can I remove it too in the translation?

A+ Works but requires some thinking if you are trying to change the footer credits in different situations like a child theme. Basically I did a (right click -> page source -> ctrl f) to find the theme name in the footer I wanted to change. It showed me the HTML for copyright, theme, and powered by wordpress. I copied that html and pasted to the plugin area. I then added the text I wanted to show and it worked.

I couldn’t get this plugin to work because I didn’t understand PHP. I contacted support and Mihaela worked with me until the problem was resolved and the plugin was working exactly as it was intended. I added this plugin as I couldn’t remove my out the box footer, even when entering the details in the customize css folder. The Remove Footer Credit plugin didn’t seem to work straight away, flushing the cache I checked an hour later and my personalised footer popped up. Thank you

I recently downloaded this plugin in the hopes that it can remove the annoying footer credit placed by my theme. At first, I was confused because it did not work, but after contacting support, she was able to help me remove the footer credit. The response times were fast and I was able to remove the footer credit in a matter of hours!
