The plugin works fine, except for an error with the copy() function. It returns this message:
Warning: copy(/home/user/website.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/filmes-vencedores-do-Trófeu-CLDF.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/user/website.com/wp-content/plugins/rename-media-files/rename-media-files.php on line 160
The line in question is the one with the copy() function, and what’s funny is that the $orig_file variable isn’t empty, but somehow the file is not found (and believe me, it is there!).
BTW, I’m using your plugin because I reinstalled WP, but it is on the same server (Dreamhost), only under a different domain, but all the images with accented file names didn’t show properly, either in Media panel and the page.
]]>If I deactivate this plugin, will the image file names stay what I changed them to, or will they revert back to what they were before I renamed them with this plugin?
]]>I use a function to fetch an image out from the cache into media library with media_handle_sideload
and set_post_thumbnail
to feature the image in a custom post type. when using your plugin, the attachment file is saved under the post type of its parent post, not as post_type attachment. so I can’t see the image in the media library and not set it as featured image any more.
Plugin create new file, with new name but not delete old file with old name (after rename process).
]]>After renamed, the old images still keep in uploads folder, i think need to removed it after renamed.
]]>It does return several errors and you need to go back to the previous page after changing a filename, yet it still works. It even changed the filename in page revisions, so it seems to do a full database search and replace.
Cheers.
]]>I like the plugin.
After I rename the image file, at the top of the image listing
in the “File name:” setting ) ( at the top, to the right of the image itself ) – It stills show the original file name. It hasn’t changed.
Confused.
At the bottom where your “New file name:” entry is –
where it says “current filename is:” this is correct. But
the top entry is not.
Please Advise.
