This seems very buggy, it renames the images to sequential numbers, so now instead of img223.jpg it is just: ‘1’ , with no extension.
The url looks like this: /wp-content/uploads/1
The File name is still : img224.jpg
Definitely test this before doing major renaming. I messed up about 5 images before I double checked. Uninstalled.

does the plugin check if the choosen name already exists?

I tried changing a featured image of a Product in Woocommerce. The image did not show in the shop. If I went to the product in the dashboard and looked at the image, the renamed image was missing. Just the new name was found linked to the product but no image.
Media File Renamer had a similar problem although the image did show when viewing the product in the dashboard – but not on the shop
Hello,
The plugin have a bad management of accentuated letters.
The display is modified if I remove an accentuated letter in the file name.
Cheers,

Will this plugin allow me to batch/mass change all my image filenames to the corresponding ALT/TITLE Tag?
]]>I have some Umlaute such as ??ü in my Title. It is also applied to the file name. This can work as most browser should be able to handle nowadays, but a mapper to the alternative writing (exists in databases like oracle) would be good.
]]>It doesn’t always rename all photos I upload together and just today it renamed my uploads folder to the name it was supposed to rename the uploads.
At first I thought all my photos were deleted as everything on my site disappeared. After restoring my database from backup and uploading my uploads folder I noticed another folder with the name of the post I was working on when everything went bad. After looking inside I realised it was my uploads folder and it was renamed by this plug in.
This happened after I uploaded five and deleted the file that didn’t get renamed in the bunch that I last uploaded. It was the first file that didn’t get renamed, I guess it renamed my uploads folder instead.
]]>First off: Love the plugin. Makes things so much easier!
I noticed that capitalization is not consistent when changing files names. For instance:
I uploaded two images: Dexter-Season-1.png and Dexter-Season-2.png. I then changed their Title to: Dexter: Season 1 and Dexter: Season 2. The plugin auto changed the file name to: dexter-season-1.png and Dexter-Season-2.png. Not sure if there is something I am doing or if this is a bug. It’s definitely not a deal breaker but just wanted to let you know.
Again, thank you for the great plugin.
