Here is the answer from vimeo support. Maybe you can improve the error-handling.

Please note that this ban was likely caused by the
plugin you are using not properly handling error messages from the API. When too many requests to the API are
made within a short amount of time, we return a 429 Too Many Requests error message. If your plugin continues
to make requests to the API when a 429 error is returned, the IP address of the server making the requests is banned.

If you find yourself using this plugin and getting banned again
1. Reach out to us with the same information
2. Reach out to the plugin developer and ask if/how the plugin handles 429 Too Many Requests errors

I’m running 1.2.5 and getting a PHP error using Query Monitor plugin.

Error says:

I’m using your plugin in conjunction with another shortcode:

For this to work I needed to add a do_shortcode() wrapper around the $content variable in line 77 of respvid-frontend.php (v.1.2.5).

Could you please add this to the plugin’s next release?

I like this plugin. Is it possible to load the video image, but not the video player until there is a click, and then replace the image with the player and play? This would save about 200kb and a significant amount of load time, especially where videos are on heavily visited pages (e.g., home pages), where the video is actually played for only a small percentage of the visits.

I’m not sure how to use this with Soundcloud. I tried inserting [video]https://soundcloud.com/caitlineadie/step-on-your-feet-by-caitlin[/video] on its own line (along with other links also associated with the track to see if it was just that type of link or not) only to get an error message that the URL is invalid. Anyone have any success using this plugin for soundcloud?

Appears the 1.2.2 is referencing /wp-content/plugins/responsive-video-shortcodes/assets/respvid.css, but the current build zip is missing both the assets and languages directories, that version 1.2 had.

Symptom (other then a 404 attempting to load the plugin CSS) is videos appear small.

Quick fix appears to be downloading 1.2 and copying the assets/ and languages/ directories to the /wp-content/plugins/responsive-video-shortcodes/ directory.

I think I posted in a wrong section before. The plug in works well with pretty much everything except Instagram video. I looked up oEmbed and it supports instagram. Any clue what’s wrong?

Hey – check out my webpage where I have embeded 4 youtube videos using the shortcode:

The first video looks perfect, but the next three have some strange appearance where the title is sort of chopped off and there is a gray bar along the bottom of the videos. Not sure why it looks this way, but everything looks fine once you click “play” on the video.

Any idea why this is happening to the last 3 videos and what can be done to fix it?
