There is no reasonable way that I am going to get my clients to add a title attribute to links in a code edit. I am not sure why WP would go out of it’s way to remove an existing feature that really did not hurt anyone. I am glad to have a no-code option to put in title attributes again, it is a good little hint for visual and non-visual users (on screen readers). I am glad to have some accessibility back. I will definitely put this on all my client sites from now on. Thank you!

I am not a huge fan of wordpress, I do most of my own website design by hand, but some clients want a WP site, as much as I tell them NOOOO.
WP does a good job and has some awesome plugins to make my life somewhat easier.
This is not a deal breaker if this was not here, but I would stand my ground not to do WP sites. But with this plugin, at least there is hope.
Thank you.

Thank you so much, I was going to make this myself, now I don’t have to!
The core team wasn’t wrong about some of the usability issues with users not knowing what the title was though. I would personally recommend labeling the title field “Hover Text” since that’s what it actually does.
Why the core team didn’t anticipate the usability issues created by replacing one field with another that looks almost identical but does something completely different is beyond me.

Otto and Sergey, a sincere THANK YOU for taking the time to create (and hopefully maintain) this plugin!!!
I’ve read the discussions on why it was removed from the WordPress Core. While I understand their position, it does NOT set right with me. It seems contrary to the spirit of WordPress. “Declaring” it meaningless does NOT “make” it meaningless. There are clearly MANY users that like the attribute. At a minimum, it should have been a toggle for the user to decide whether it was important to them!
Their suggestion was to use the Text Editor to insert Titles, which was cumbersome at best. Your plugin makes it easy to write and edit!!!
Again, THANK YOU for listening to the valid perspective of many WordPress users and stepping up!!!!!

@ WP: if it works, don’t fix it!

Thx for “fix” the last update of wordpress ?? I think is was an error to remove the title at links… howeer, I’d like to suggest one upgrade to your plugin: add “rel” and “hreflang”, for set the re=nofollow and the language of the destiny page if diferent of the blog (for example, a blog in french linking to a blog in english, it would be hreflang=en).
