Is there a way to hide sitemap.xml file to the public and only allow access for it be crawled by search engines′ robots?

I am using your Robots & Sitemap plugins, it works very well.
However, there are some minor bugs:
1 .The search-console reports that the home page is currently an HTML tag.
I had to disable the homepage from the sitemap.

2. And the Robots item does not work, but I found this unnecessary.
How do I get help on how to turn off the Robots seting in plugins?
