We installed your plugin about 8 months ago. Starting this past February we noticed a HUGE amount of bloat in our database table wp_options. The table was growing by about 20k rows a day. Our developer says it is VERY unusual and shouldn’t be writing to wp_options. What can we do to fix this and remove all the rows?

While adding the widget I cannot set “Cache Period”. After saving my widget, the input field is cleared.

Besides this, it may be useful to add a min attribute to this input. I don’t know for sure, but when refreshing cache every few seconds (for example) this may cause server load issues?

Hi,

The RSS widget breaks the sidebar layout when theme doesn’t use aside for its widgets. In my case theme wraps widgets in a div, so sidebar breaks when adding your RSS widget. I was able to fix it with adding an extra class to your widget, called .widget

It’s possible to register a widget without this aside or div wrapping. It will use the tags that theme is registering.

BUT In the product field i have a shortcode that shows the price
[wcj_product_price]
works well and does its job
BUT when your plugin pulls the product rss feed the result of the shortcode does not show in the widget.
any ideas as to how to get it to? or why it is not working ???

Hi. I get an error when trying to link a shopify atom feed:

This seems to be a known issue, and only presents itself under certain conditions. It would seem this is the resolution, but obviously this is something that needs to happen in the code to fix it. If you could resolve this I’d really appreciate it.

Everything works well, except that the widget width is set to 92% for some reason (https://surovestrasti.com, on the right-hand side of the page) and not 100%, which is very noticable.

I don’t see an option to make it 100% in the widget settings?

On our RSS feed, we have set it to include 5000 words but it still truncates the RSS item description after 55 words no matter what the setting is?

The description paragraph for each entry used to be left aligned without padding, but now there is padding. Is there a CSS modification we can make to remove the padding on the left?

I’m not sure what I can do to ensure that the text and image fit within the carousel of the widget. As of now from the default settings, the feed itself is a it indented from the left, but it would be nice if I can add some padding or something to avoid the cut off for the feed to fit in perfectly. Please let me know.

I’m seeing this error on my site’s homepage: “Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 76 bytes in /home/biome/public_html/wp-content/plugins/rss-feed-widget/functions.php on line 229”

This is the line of code it’s referring to:
$rss_links = (is_array(unserialize($instance[‘rss_url’]))?unserialize($instance[‘rss_url’]):array());

Any ideas how to remove this? The plugin otherwise seems to be working fine.

Using the feed widget on both sites, on the sea-trek site, I have multiple images pulling from the RSS (my blog) and creating a ribbon of these images across the page. So, visitors can see multiple blog post images.

When I installed rss feed on the new site (tes.sea-trek.com/home/) I am only getting one image pulling from the RSS. I duplicated all of the settings from RSS feed, but it is not showing multiple images, just the very latest one. I want it to look like it does on sea-trek.com

I’m trying to display an rss feed with Rss Feed Widget. The feed i try to display is a news feed from a well known french newspaper. The feed seems to be read correctly in an online players like feedbucket or in rss app.

The widget work correctly with other rss feeds, so it seems to be a problem specialy with this feed.

In my posts, there is a date and an author. Is it possible to show the author and the date of posts when outputting through rss?

same problem for me.

If I activate RSS Feed Widget there is no more connection with Facebook and G+… error in retreving data (timeout).
