With the update to WordPress 5.5, many of us are resorting to using the “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” plugin to keep sites working as designed (for now, temp fix).
When the helper is activated, it shows warnings for deprecated code. In relation to the rw Quick Page and Post Redirects plugin, I’m receiving these warnings:

I use the plugin a fair bit and I’d like to be able to continue using it. Do you know when an update for this scripts will be available?
]]>hello, i was using this puglins but now i know it will no recive more updates.
By the way, thank you very much for the plugin, but I am having problems with exporting the content, on localhost I get this error:
and on my server it doesn’t export anything, just a blank document.
]]>Hi Doug,
The quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin by Anand has been removed from www.ads-software.com. It says the closure is temporary pending a full review.
People have been trying to reach out to him without any luck. We’re concerned about the reason for the closure. Perhaps there’s a security risk?
In any case, would it be at all possible to make yours available again? Many thanks for the help.
Best regards,
JB
PS: I sent an email to your website before realizing I could start a thread here. Apologies for that.
Please go ahead and deactivate the Richweb QPPR version (I’ve sent a request to have this project closed) and then download/install/update to the latest version of the original Quick Page and Post Redirect plugin (the one by @anadnet).
The transition back over to his plugin should be just as seamless as it was switching over to mine.
With Anadnet now being back and working on QPPR, I do not want to take away from his hard work. ??
Thanks!
]]>Are you going to update this plugin?
it’s been 3 updates and over a year
Or should I go back to the original plugin here

thanks

Hi, The plugin does not register URLs with WPMkl, although it would be nice to be able provide a diffrent URL per language, or even have a translated page follow the originaol link. I don”‘t think it would take much to be done. Any such plan?
(I have seen the question has been asked before, but I wonder of any udpate)
Thanks for the great plutin

Hi Everyone,
Was asking if there is there a way to add redirects in a way, that it doesn’t get affected by parameters in the URL.
Usually when we share the links on facebook, it automatically adds fbcid parameter for tracking, so we only have option to add the full url when sharing Facebook.
So was asking if there’s a way to sort it, so it redirects with any parameters in URL.
Looking forward to reply on same.
Regards,
Mohan
Is there a way to ignore the parameters appended to a URL
Example Facebook appends a parameter at the end of the URL for link placed in an FB post
eg ?fbclid=IwAR0F8GYq3OgQRzJyvO9ON0qsUW2Obx32y28WW2keGR4W1u3xyQJVViVhgPs
This URL from Facebook works fine on my WordPress site, however, when it comes as a redirect in the older Quick Redirect it fails.
Does your version handle this use case gracefully?
I’ve changed my permalinks to just /%postname%/
Can Quick Redirects not redirect /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ requests to just /%postname%/
When I enter this, the Request URL field is empty on reload of the page.
Please advise.
]]>Hi!
Can you prepare your plugin for GlotPress translations?
https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/rw-quick-page-and-post-redirects
You can import some translations from old plugin:
https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin
rw Quick Page and Post Redirects 1.0.1
]]>Example Redirect:
https://domain.com/destinations/new-zealand/
to
https://domain.com/destinations/where-next/new-zealand/
but when the redirect takes place, it adds a query string:
# curl -ILs https://domain.com/destinations/where-next/new-zealand/ |grep Location
Location: https://domain.com/destinations/new-zealand/?q=/destinations/where-next/new-zealand/&
Location: https://domain.com/destinations/new-zealand/?q=/destinations/where-next/new-zealand/
You can see it actually adds an additional redirect to remove the & being added to the end.
Server is running Nginx with wp-rocket.
RedirectType: Quick Page Post Redirect – Quick
Location: https://domain.com/destinations/new-zealand/?q=/destinations/where-next/new-zealand/&
I’ve temp disabled all plugins minus Quick Page Post Redirect to ensure it is not a plugin conflict.
]]>Hi There,
When shifted from old Quick Redirect Plugin to this one, it stopped redirecting URLs. So was asking if you could help with sorting the same.
Following is one of the urls on staging site : https://k21academy.staging.wpengine.com/oam01

Hi.
I just found out the plugin has new owner.
I’m trying to redirect the author page, https://mysite.com/author/myname/ to https://mysite.com/.
Not working at all.
Does it need to be a post or page for the redirect to work? As the author page is generated by wordpress. The backend is the user profile page.
Thanks
…and special thanks to BearlyDoug for making the whole transition so smooth.
]]>I tried installing rw Quick Page and Post Redirects (rw QPPR) without first removing QPPR. I am not sure if that is the cause of the problem, but I get:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare start_ppr_class() (previously declared in C:\home\tildet.com\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin\page_post_redirect_plugin.php:2359) in C:\home\tildet.com\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\rw-quick-page-and-post-redirects\rw_Quick-PagePost-Redirects.php on line 2371
The versions of WP and PHP are quite up-to-date. Has anyone else experienced this or have a tip? TIA.
]]>First off, THANK YOU for taking up this plugin and keeping it going, I appreciate it!
Your plugin (and the old one) work great when I use quick redirects for non-existent pages, however, when I try to redirect a pre-existing page, I can’t get it to redirect at all.
I created a new page, put “Redirecting” in the content, selected “Make redirect active” and put the forwarding url, then made sure to make it a “Meta Redirect” with 1 second. I published it and tested it out..
The browser shows nothing but white, completely blank, nothing loads and nothing redirects. I go into the plugin’s meta settings and check “Load Page Content?”, it then loads the site but still doesn’t redirect. If I remove all redirect settings within the page then everything loads as normal.
I went back into meta settings and changed “body” to “redirectpage” and created a new CSS class in my css that just turns the text bold. Wrapped that tag within a span tag around “Redirecting” in the content, but it still doesn’t redirect.
Thoughts?
Second issue is for some reason your plugin (and the old one) are ignoring one quick redirect I have set up. It just happened to be the first one I tested out after switching to your plugin, but I get a 404 error. I went into the settings and it’s entered correctly. I deleted it and re-entered it and tried again, same problem. Don’t have a problem with any other redirect from what I can tell. This is for a link that is no longer valid, so there is no post or page for it.
Help?
Thanks!
E
First of all it’s great to see this plugin has been taken over and revived as it’s extremely useful.
However, since I installed it on the website for my work https://www.mndassociation.org every few days it seems to suddenly deactivate itself which causes huge issues when users are typing in the short URLs.
I have an audit log plugin installed as well and there’s no reference in there of any other user turning it off, it just seems to happen by itself. Any idea on what could be causing the issue?
]]>Hi. Thanks for forking the original plugin. Is there a way to redirect and entire post type or category. Say I have mywebsite.com/custompost/post1, and I have lots of such posts mywebsite.com/custompost/post2, mywebsite.com/custompost/post3, etc. Now, I want to redirect all mywebsite.com/custompost/* to a particular URL. Is it possible?
Cheers!
]]>Thanks for reviving this plugin. Are you planning to include regex support?
I’m stuck using a different redirect plugin in the meantime (and searching for an nginx workaround for that plugin) because I need regex support.
Add that feature and this will be the only redirect plugin my team needs!
]]>I am using the plugin to redirect URLs attached to a custom post type for external web sites.
The trouble I have is to get those open in a new window.
I have set JQuery on in global options as well as on each individual post.
Here are 2 occurrences:
– on the “boite outils” section of this page, , built with Elementor Pro post grid.
(my initial need for your plugin was that this widget does not provide an option for new windows target)
– but it does not open a new window neither on normal WP archive template here:[ redundant link removed ]
The strange thing is: It worked before I think (although I had to open a new session to see that happen), and now it does not.
I wonder if it is a natural limitation of the plugin (as stated in its description), or if it should work and what I could check.
Any help appreciated.
]]>Hi there
Does this plugin support WPML and specifically the idea that each language uses it’s own domain?
Thanks,
Todd
hello,
thank you very much for continuing this very useful plugin. i have started to use your newer version – but i am having issues with option to open in new window.
i have tried selecting it from the individual redirect, which didnt work so i also selected it in the plugin options to open ALL in new window.
note on page link – i have set the post links (products) to redirect to an external website in a new window.
wondering if you might have any suggestions.
cheers.
]]>Good evening, everyone!
I’ve made the decision that version 1.X.X will be dedicated to just bug fixes that were carried over from the last iteration of this plugin.
Version 2.0.0 will be a complete restructuring of the entire code base to clean it up and separate it out a bit, coding-wise, and will come with a brand new interface. This version will eliminate the sub-menu pop out (everything handled via an in-page tabbed navigation system), and will also include the ability to allow standard WordPress roles to have access to the redirects tab (standard WordPress user roles), and the ability to “see” redirects on a page or post edit screen.
By adding user roles, you will have to make SURE you trust the members of your site’s posting community, otherwise, they could use this feature maliciously.
All that said, what other features would you like to see come on-board?
]]>Firstly thanks tons for continuing this plugin, it’s very handy.
Regarding bugs I noticed when using this newly revised plugin it’s now conflicting with “The Event Calendar” plugin seen here: https://en-ca.www.ads-software.com/plugins/the-events-calendar/
When having both running it seems to disable the event date fields when scheduling events. When disabling the “rw-quick-page-and-post-redirects” it seemed to resolve the problem.
Is there any code I can comment out to make sure both work well together?
]]>Hi, thanks for keeping this plugin alive. I migrated from the old plugin to yours, but in adding a new redirect, I am getting the folloiwng error (a couple of intial locations changed for security reasons):
Fatal error: Call to undefined function opcache_reset() in /location/location/public_html/wp-content/plugins/rw-quick-page-and-post-redirects/rw_Quick-PagePost-Redirects.php on line 201
I can tell you what prompted me to install yours, was that I was at 251 redirects on the old plugin, and it was not allowing me to add another one… not sure if that is related.
]]>Hi Team
Please add support for user roles for this plugin, I mean I could give access to add new redirects to my shop manager in woocommerce.
Looking forward to your awesome support
Regards
Tushar
I think I may have found a bug with the plugin.
I clicked Preview on a draft but I received a “This page isnt working” error (HTTP ERROR 500). I deactivated the plugin and tried again and it worked.
Any idea what might be causing it? Thanks.

]]>To preemptively answer a question:
If you were using anadnet’s “Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin” and “upgrade” to this one, you can rest assured that you will not lose any currently saved redirect data.
Great pains were taken to ensure that we’re using the same exact database structure, so that no one would have to spend time re-adding all of their redirects.
Upgrading is super easy.
#1 Make sure the “rw Quick Page and Post Redirects” plugin is present on your plugin page (unzip and upload via FTP, or upload through the Plugins > Add Plugin page).
#2 Deactivate anadnet’s “Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin”.
#3 Activate the “rw Quick Page and Post Redirects” plugin.
#4 Remove anadnet’s “Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin” via FTP or through the “Delete” link on the Plugins page.
That’s it! No additional tweaks/adjusting needed. ??
