In the file SaFly-Curl-Patch.php there is a deprecated function on define(‘SCP_INC’, ‘safly’, TRUE); on future versions of PHP.

Hi! Found your plugin through the WordPress Support forum post “Error: WordPress could not establish a secure connection to www.ads-software.com“.

I noticed you disable CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, on line 63 of Safly-Curl-Patch.php. Please *do not do this* but fix your PHP configuration! I have a blog post explaining why: https://www.saotn.org/dont-turn-off-curlopt_ssl_verifypeer-fix-php-configuration/.

The plugin works (thanks very much) and enabled me to run the updates (including to WP 4.9.8) successfully, but I get this message when I visit any admin page or public page whilst the plugin is enabled (I’ve disabled the plugin on the site in question, hence no web link to it:

I guess that it might be a PHP version issue as this server is still on 5.4.45.
