In general, I cannot recommend this plugin at all. If you need a working plugin go for Amelia, really solid plugin offering everything you could possibly need. Back to Salon, sorry to say but for business websites use it is a trash. To be more specific I have purchased Pro version but still suffered:

1. Poor support Salon seems to be a beta-plugin. The backend design, logic of the setting etc. is very week. For me, it took weeks before guy from support could help me to finally make the plugin work. The documentation is chaotic, doesn’t include understandable instructions. Video tutorials are ridiculous – music on the background ? Seriously ? On top of that, I doubt there is more then 2 people in the background. It is more or less one man show. What you can possible expect from broken plugin with 0 support…
2. Front end seems to be fine but… Front end in demos looks nice, it take some time to understand how categories are working. But it give your really low level of adjustability in real page integration it is very tough to properly fit it into your stilling. Resolution on 4K screen – disaster. Short code implementation – some nice block editing ??? Forget…
3. Adjustability – there is basically nothing you can change. I really missed customization of the email notification. You have a template, with four tags. You can only change the text…no variables. Why you don’t allow user to insert a HTLM code – it is standard for all the plugins I know. It is a lie you can modify a php template. You cannot. Everything really hardcoded, without deep information of the plugin, you can do nothing.
4. Customer approach – On the end I was really disappointed. I had to prepare a websites for the customer by the end of the year. I was messing around with this plugin since I have purchased it and was not able to work on it. On the very end, the support was able to fix it but it was too late for me – I didn’t want to go into another trouble shooting and I needed to go for better plugin ( Amelie ) to deliver the site to the customer in time. I have asked for the refund. The request was rejected bcs of 30 day limit. But as I said, for me the plugin was not working a single day. What a joke.

To sum up, please don’t repeat my mistake and never go for this trash plugin. If it would be for free and would work on improvement by troubleshooting with customers, I would have nothing against. But want money for such kind of beta plugin is ridiculous. Go for Amelia or some other working plugins.

i’m so impressed with this Plugin. I have tried so many salon booking plug ins and this one is one of the best. The instructions are very easy to use. I have all the functions that I need for my company. Services and bookings are very easy to use and create. The team super supportive, fast answering any of my questions. Even though this is only a free version but its excellent ?? thank you so much.
I would suggest to have the two way, synced for Google calendar (any busy time I can export from Calendar, not only appointments).

I tested the plugin for ten days and bought it for a customer. The customer decided against it. I’m still waiting for the refund today.

<p>I really liked the plugin! It suited the needs of my client and his hair salon. There’s a responsive booking screen you can add using a shortcode, email templates can be edited, and it’s very customizable in general.<br />Best feature is the two-way Google calendar sync. That really impressed my client and made the whole solution very user/hairdresser friendly. Now if there’s a booking via phone or fb then it’s super easy for them to make a certain time period unavailable to other guests.<br />The Hungarian language file had a couple of bad translations, plus there are a few English strings in the email templates that you have to edit on the server in the files.<br />While the salon I made it for only has one employee/owner I can see how this solution can serve larger businesses.<br />Documentation is excellent.<br />Molte grazie!</p>

<p>Update: Still loving it, performing really well. The hairdresser really took a liking to the google calendar workflow. Clients are using it too so it seems that it’s making everyone’s life easier.</p>

It is very disappointing. Instead of taking the problem serious you get the answer “Use a cookie banner (the suggested one is a subscription)”. The plugin “Salon booking system” loads Fonts and Material Icons from Google. You will find detailed description in the support forum of this plugin, I had started a thread there.

I recommend not to use the plugin if you have to comply with the laws of the GDPR, so any state in Europe.

We installed Salon Booking System on one of our client’s website. The plugin does the job we expected it to do. We, however, had a problem with the Dutch translation and therefore contacted support. We were excellently supported and got answers to our questions within a few hours. Well done guys!

This plugin does its job. There is some space for improvement – basically to increase the flexibility with settings, but it works well for the ordinary Spa salon. It is the best soft I found in the given price range, and I recommend it to small business owners. Pretty detailed documentation and really fast support.

I would like to rate this plugin which has potential and works correctly most of the time. It is very useful, but sometimes it happens that there are really serious errors that break my entire website, but now the plugin doesn’t work as it should. On the days when I have normal working hours, it gives me a day off and I don’t want that, and it also gives me bad times there: we are open until 7:00 PM but it only shows me until 5:00 PM What it should be?. It would really like to completely fix this plugin to make it flawless. As I say, the plugin has potential because it is probably the best that exists so far in terms of booking, but these errors spoil it unnecessarily.

The system is broken.
Although I asked for one license they added another one by accident a few days later. Since then I asked them many times to cancel the second one and stick too the first.
*Years* have passed and the issue hasn’t been resolved the right way.

More problems: many times in the WP Admin Panel I need to add the license number because for some reason the system “forgets” it.

Even more problems: the support is super fast but they can’t speak English very well. As a result communication is far from good.

Last but not least: their website is full of bugs. Some of them are silly but others are pretty important. For example you can’t complete a purchase until you answer the question “How did you find us?”. But this question is invisible. However if you refresh the page, in the middle of the purchase, you can move on without needing to answer the question.

There are better similar plugins out there. I just can’t trust them anymore and I suggest you to avoid them.

I have tried several booking plugins. None of them even came close to what this one can. You can set almost everything according to how you work (want reservations) and even better: the process of making a reservation is very, very simple.
I used it for a friend who has a hair salon. His reservations went up (ofcourse because now he has a website) but since customers can book online he got 20% more customers in a day !

we had a huge problem with our website, it wasn’t possible to connect to the admin panel after a change we had done on the plugin, we contact the tech service by mail, in only few minutes dimitri came back to us and only 30 min after our first mail the problem was solved. a really good after sale and tech service, we are really happy to use salon booking everyday

I recommend this calendar management, different from what you usually find, the self-hosted solution being a very good idea in my opinion.

The extension does what it says and offers enough configuration possibilities to satisfy most people.

The mobile application has not been updated for a while now, although a refresh and some new features would be very useful and especially normal nowadays.

The support of the paid solution is very competent and responds quite quickly (12 to 24 hours in my case for the first contact), but the main thing is that they do the job.
