I see this exact problem reported in support forums about a year ago with a previous version of the Semalt Redirect Manager, and it was apparently fixed a short time after it was discovered. Unfortunately, the issue has returned – but only with a ‘non-www’ URL of my site. (ie: https://hirelgroup.com redirected to google, but https://www.hirelgroup.com did not)
It won’t do it, now, because I disabled the plug-in in order to correct the issue, but has anyone reported a recurrence? We just started seeing this a few days ago, and we have the most current everything on the site.
I use the header-checker tool at https://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/header-checker/, and with the plug-in enabled, it returns a 301 response from hirelgroup.com, then a 200 from Google. With plug-in DISabled, the tool returns the correct, 200 response from hirelgroup.com.
Thank you!

]]>I have 5 out of 50+ websites that I installed the plugin and added my own list to… these 5 sites will not hold my list and when I click save it just goes back to the default list. I’ve tried to delete and reinstall the plugin but no luck. Not sure why it would work on so many other sites but not on a handful of others.
A couple of the sites are therapeutic mobility dot com and taylor made yoga dot ca
]]>Hi,
how about linking to, or even integrating some sort of up-to-date blacklist?
I found e.g. https://github.com/piwik/referrer-spam-blacklist/blob/master/spammers.txt which seems to do a great job.

]]>Hello,
Great plugin! I just want to ask if also blocks subdomains, I noticed on my analytics reports that semalt has subdomains like 12123.semalt.com and so on, So if I semalt.com is listed on your plugin will it block the subdomains as well?
Thanks a lot!
]]>Hi,
Great plugin, thanks!
On one of my sites it was causing an issue with the Media Library.
When Semalt Blocker is active I couldn’t see thumbnails in default thumbnail-view.
List view works.
Additional problems were experienced when uploading images – gave an error.
I pinpointed it to the following URL which was appearing in Google Analytics formatted exactly like this:
https://webmaster-traffic.com
It was the only spam URL to include https:// in Analytics. I think Semalt Blocker probably tries to resolve URLs in a way that URLs with https:// conflict with the Media library in some way.
I’ve removed that URL and all is fine now.
Thanks again!
]]>Great plugin! Thank you kindly for all of your time and effort!
I have a feature request. Can you add the option to redirect the domains back to themselves instead of redirecting every domain to Google? This goes for all of the domains on my custom list. Maybe just add check box to enable/disable this feature for an all-or-nothing-kind-of-thing. I think they should all get a taste of their own medicine.

]]>Hi All — problems aside, Semalt Blocker seems to do a good job of getting rid of not only referrer spam, but also these mysterious visits that are probably bots: they’re always from a different country, and they hit just the homepage, but they’re not associated with a referrer. How does Semalt Blocker distinguish between good bots and bad? Thanks much!
]]>I realize you state in a recent comment that the bug was fixed. I have just spent the last several hours furiously trying to figure out where and how my site was hacked because links to my site from other websites all redirected to Google.com. I could click on links internally just fine. It was when I tried to access my site from another website via a link. This is a huge snafu.
How often do people click on links to their own website from other sites?? Probably a lot more people have this issue and don’t even realize it.
I have your latest version installed but it still does it. I have turned EVERYTHING OFF. And one by one turned it all back on. Its your plugin that is causing the issue.
]]>I’m so grateful to you for creating this plugin, and for the attempt to add problem sites other than Semalt. Thanks!
Yesterday I found two problems: 1. Within my site, clicking my posts and pages ended up referring to Google instead of my posts and pages; the site was dead in the water. 2. Clicking links to my posts from an external source (Moodle course management software) led my students to Google instead of my posts.
Yesterday’s update resolved #1, but not #2. That is, the site is now functional once you are on it, but my URL links on my course site bring my students to Google.
By disabling the plugin I loved the problem. I hope you can push through an update that addresses the issue so I can restore the plugin!
]]>This plugin has been working great since I installed it a month ago. Today, I updated with the latest version and it caused some major problems.
Most notably, all of my links started redirecting to Google.com. Direct path to my pages worked fine, but clicking an in-site link sent me to Google. An even bigger problem was that when I attempted to log back into my WP dashboard by navigating to wp-login.php, it let me enter my credentials but then redirected me to Google. I had to log into cpanel in order to access the database directly.
Assuming that the issue was directly related to my most recent plugin update, I went in and deactivated semalt blocker, which immediately fixed my site.
Unfortunately, I can’t afford to have my site malfunction even for a minute, so I’ve had to remove the plugin. But I wanted to share what happened.
]]>Hi, I just updated Semalt Blocker, and when I logged off, I got a wierd message. So I attempted to log in, and got the same message:
Notice: Undefined index: domains in /home/[username]/[site]/wp-content/plugins/semalt/semalt.php on line 32
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/[username]/[site]/wp-content/plugins/semalt/semalt.php:32) in /home/[username]/[site]/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1178
What’s the best way to deal with that?
