Would be nice to have an option to show the facepile befrore the WordPress traditional comments, I think this is visually more strong to anyone visiting the post or page.
If you guide me maybe I can make a PR with this modification. I think would be trivial as is a boolean checkbox option.
Also would be nice to personalize the “33 comments” text as those comments are now reactions (likes, reposts, etc). Letting the user modify that text would be also nicer as we can have something like “33 reactions”.
Let me know your thoughts.
I have also opened an issue in GH here (sorry but I don’t see much activity in this forum or the repo so I posted double ??)

perhaps the undefined indexed (line 454) could be remedied by first checking isset($meta[‘type’]) ?

thanks for the webmentions plugin. I hope this is the right adress, since my wp theme does not use this color: Any idea, where in the code I have to look to change this hover effect color?

On my blog https://xmau.com/wp/notiziole all comments are sent to me for review, and those from a newcomer have to be manually approved. Since some months ago, while comments from oldcomers are regularly shown, I cannot see the text of those from newcomers: only the possible actions (approve/trash/spam) are present, with the relative link. If I click on the link I see the comment, but there is a warning “Invalid comment ID”, which is probably the reason while I don’t receive the text of the comment.
I removed all plugins and re-added them one-by-one, and I found that the culprit is Semantic-Linkbacks. That’s not much of a problem for me, since I actually did not use the plugin and so I just deactivate it, but I think it could be useful to let other people know.
I forgot: I am using a spinoff of SimpleX theme.

Hi,
I’m trying some indieweb things with my test blog and for this plugin, the Semantic Linkbacks Data metabox is missing when creating or editing a post.
When I first installed it, it was there and I could used it. After a few post it went missing for new posts (and also old ones when editing). When loading the new post site it looks like that it is there for a second but than the textbox goes over it (maybe?).
I’m using:
WordPress 5.5.3 running Autonomie theme (also tested sempress).
Tested it with Firefox and Google Chrome.
Tested it on a second blog with the same result, that it was there and than gone soon after.
The following plugins are activated:
– Classic Editor
– IndieAuth
– IndieWeb
– Post Kinds
– Semantic-Linkbacks
– Webmention
Deactivating, reinstalling the plugin, did not help.
I hope somebody can help me ??
When either Semantic-Linkbacks or Webmention is active, avatars on the Admin Dashboard are broken; in the page source they are looking for things like https://identicon

I recently installed the Webmention, Syndication Links, and Semantic Linkbacks plugins. To test, I posted a tweet – https://twitter.com/prtksxna/status/1149523826415304704 – with a link back to the post, I also added a syndication link from the post.
When I received a like (on Twitter), I got a WebMention from Bridgy and it shows up as a normal comment on my blog (https://prtksxna.com/2019/07/11/zuari-on-wordpress-org/#comments). How can I get a facepile instead? Or does it have to be a certain number of likes before it can show up? Not sure what I am doing wrong. Maybe my theme is disabling it, how can I fix that?
I have “Automatically embed facepiles” enabled, and the “Let visitors use a WordPress.com, Twitter, Facebook, or Google account to comment” Jetpack setting disabled.

I can count ten items. If I activate Semantic-Linkbacks the counter still says there are ten items, but only the top one show.

For some reason, Semantic Linkbacks has recently been showing all commenter avatars as user-secret.svg

Hi Matthias,
Is it possible to replace the menacing icon for anonymous comments with a friendlier one? Many of our readers refer to it as the “scary detective”. The icon name is: “user-secret.svg”
A friendlier (less threatening) icon would work much better in attracting comments.
Thank you ??
I’m still attempting to understand the larger world of indieweb code for WP, but I’m relatively sure that the issue I’m seeing is potentially coming out of the WP Semantic-Linkbacks plugin.
The issue:
Likes from Facebook as well as likes and RT’s from Facebook are feeding into the the WP comments dashboard from brid.gy properly, but once being approved, aren’t actually showing up in the comments section of the related WP post.
I’ve done a quick test with a comment with text on the same Facebook post and don’t seem to be seeing the same issue and it seems to show up fine in the comments on the post once approved.
Example:
WP post: https://lfl8424.boffosocko.com/2015/08/20/todays-books-august-20-2015/
Associated facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/ChrisAldrich/posts/10100846770831315
As this is a relatively new site, perhaps there’s some small thing that I’m missing or forgetting? I set it all up with the WP IndieWeb plugin (v2.2.0) and everything within it is current and installed/configured (except Hum and Micropub).
Its possible that it’s something similar to a related issue I’d had before on a different WP install (see: https://github.com/pfefferle/wordpress-webmention-for-comments/issues/1) though that seemed to be fixed (by itself?) shortly thereafter.
Within the WP admin interface, (https://lfl8424.boffosocko.com/wp-admin/comment.php?action=editcomment&c=25)
in the editable comment section, I’m seeing something similar to the following:

So there is data there, it’s just not being parsed/rendered properly somewhere.
Since I’ve got another WP set up that seems to be operating properly with the same general set up, has anyone got any ideas?
