As this plugin from Sendgrid is discontinued – I found “Post SMTP” to be a great replacement: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-smtp/ – easy to install , no additional fees using SendGrid API

I have seen similar functionality in MailChimp campaign email editor.

I think it is a fair question to ask since it has not been updated for over two years.

For those not willing to DIY repair an official plugin you can try this alternative which we’ve now switched to. It’s simple to setup and no errors as yet:

]]>Hello
I am trying to install this plug in. THe trouble is that in the installation notes it say s that in order to do this I have to set my API. I quote:
‘Set the API key. You need to make sure you set the Mail Send permissions to FULL ACCESS, Stats to READ ACCESS and Template Engine to READ or FULL ACCESS when you created the api key on SendGrid side, so you can send emails and see statistics on wordpress):
API key: define(‘SENDGRID_API_KEY’, ‘sendgrid_api_key’);’
THis doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t say where I get the API key. I caa’t see the Mail Send permissions or the Template Engine or give a link to the ‘SendGrid side’.
Please help.

This plugin triggers the following error:
contextual_help is deprecated since version 3.3.0! Use get_current_screen()->add_help_tab(), get_current_screen()->remove_help_tab() instead.
You can remove the errormessage (and also the contextual help) by removing (put // in front of) line 52 of
…/sendgrid-email-delivery-simplified/lib/class-sendgrid-settings.php
line 52:
add_filter( 'contextual_help', array( __CLASS__, 'show_contextual_help' ), 10, 3 );

1. This plugin has not been maintain for over two years and 3 major releases of WordPress at the time of writing.
2. The settings page will constantly refresh every ~2 seconds until a valid API key is entered. You have to stop the page from fully loading in order to paste it into the box and hit submit in time. Highly fustrating.
3. class-sendgrid-settings.php uses contextual_help which is depreciated and throws an error when WP DEBUG is enabled.
Please show some care for your paying customers and address these issues.

Hi,
it seems the Name field in the SendGrid options doesn’t handle apostrophes.

Hello,
just checking in to see if this plugin will ever get a version compatibility bump?
I have it installed on over 20 different installs running 5.3.2, and have no issues.
Thanks!
]]>Dear Sendgrid,
I have installed recently this plugin, there is an issue on the contact list not shown after API key insertion and i have already created a new contact list into my Sendgrid account but in this, the subscription widget tab under the Contact list to upload to option does not show my actual list of Sendgrid account.
This will show only a disabled tab and shows that Go to Marketing Campaigns to create a list and I have already created a contact list in my account.
I’m using WordPress 5.2 version if any change needs in the plugin then please let me know.
Please help with this issue.
Thanks and Regards

Hello.
We use plugin with version 1.11.8.
We use it with wp_mail mail function (redifined on plugin), and all work fine, but we receive new task:
some mails need to send with custom unsubscribe group.
Yes, we can reconfigure it in plugin options. But in this way every mail sends with it. We need some only.
Yes, we can define SENDGRID_UNSUBSCRIBE_GROUP before wp_mail call. But we cant undefine SENDGRID_UNSUBSCRIBE_GROUP after call. And if wp send any other emails after out mail – they are sent with this constant. Not fine.
No, we not have any way to tell wp_mail send only this mail with this unsubscribe group.
Can you add it in you plugin (i.e. add sendgrid_unsubscribe_group_id in $headers of wp_mail)?
]]>On testing server and a copy of the live site for development purposes emails were still being sent out from the plugin through Sendgrid account (the correct account) even though we tried to prevent emails being sent by changing the username and password setting in the plugin. The server is whitelisted for the account and perhaps this is what lets it go through. We were simply trying to keep the client from being spammed with e-commerce purchase notifications while worked on new features. Plugin let every single email go through even though we had invalid data in the settings. Not a big bug but certainly odd.
]]>The plugin has not been updated in 11 months. Has it been tested for compatibility in WP 5.0.3 and PHP 7.3? Latest documentation only goes up to WP 4.9.9 and PHP 7.1
]]>Installed the Sendgrid plugin as per the documentation. Inserted the generated API key, sent tester emails using the WordPress plugin backend, these were confirmed to have been sent – confirmed by the SendGrid account. None were received, to various email addresses on various domains and nothing of the forms we are using on the site (Ninja) are being sent now either. We looked into Sendgrid to make sure all are being sent via the forms as it was hit and miss… now however nothing is coming through.
]]>Please, im trying to remove padding to the widget but the css is added “manually” with style=”padding-top:10px” and im unable to make fit in the theme.
A week waiting for my last question so now im starting to find another subscription solution instead sendgrid…
They should include this forum in their CMS if they dont want to go here to read the questions becasue we dont need to create more and more accounts to be answered. Its easier to find another tool.
]]>I sent an email using the test button on the plugin settings page on my website and then inspected the full email text on Gmail. It seems the email shows the server’s IP address in one field. How can I stop the the plugin or SendGrid sending that information in the emails. Thanks.
]]>I wouldlove to configure the plugin once and then finish. For now i need to configure each site, translate each site, each widget and modify everything only with the pourpose to chose the sendgrid list where users will suscribe…
I think i must been doing something wrong becasue i think this way to go is crazy… It should be better to let the widget chose the list like most suscription widgets plugins…
The email should be the configured in the site, the translation should be general for all sites and you could chosse the list in the superadmin too…
I really want to use sendgrid but this is consuming too much time

]]>Hey guys,
I think I found a bug with this plugin and Elementor forms. The Sendgrid plugin works as expected when using my API key, I can send test emails just fine. But when using a form created using Elementor, Elementor will throw a ‘server error’ and the form is not submitted.
You may think this is a bug with Elementor, but then I tried the same thing but using the WP Mail SMTP plugin set to use my Sendgrid API key, and it works. No submission errors.
]]>Email confirmation sent from the Subscription Widget goes to a redirect loop In Pantheon hosting.
Test setup:
WP 4.9.8
Nginx 1.8.1
PHP 7.2.10
Sendgrid plugin 1.11.8
TwentySeventeen 1.7
No other plugin installed aside from Pantheon’s Must-Use
Hosted in Pantheon
Working on another test setup using same setup, only difference is it is running in Apache server and it works fine.
Consulted with Pantheon and it was due to double underscore parameter (__sg_api) generated in the link sent by that plugin as that kind of format affects caching performance in the platform: https://pantheon.io/docs/pantheon_stripped/#resolution.
Is there a way to customize the parameter __sg_api via a builtin hook without modifying the code plugin itself?
