The previous post (closed for comments) says it doesn’t work anymore. But I worked for me on WP 5.1.1 and from the last reviews it seem it is still working for a lot a people.
The other plugin suggested doesn’t do the same thing, it is meant to work on new posts only (and I haven’t tested if it does work).

i find it today it’s very cool.
]]>Good day,
I like this plugin however it lacks some improvement. I don’t know if there are still someone from the devs who can change/update this plugin to automatically set the first image in post as a featured image once it is publish than manually starting or clicking the start button to set the featured image.
It would really be helpful specially if the posts are scheduled and you’re away at your computer to click ‘Start’ when the posts are published.
Thanks.

]]>Can you add the provision to automatically add the first image of the post type to be set as featured image, once it is posted ? Rather than we manually assigning them through the plugin.
Or can the plugin run at regular intervals in the future updates ?

]]>Hello Lucy,
Your plugin is really awesome.
There is just one or two tricks to change (IMHO) to become perfect.
1rst I have corrected it myself adding the path to image. Mine are not at root of uploads. They are in uploads/year/month.
2nd is that once it found a image it adds it to the media library. But because the image is already in the library it’s doubling the number of images. I’ll try to correct it. If you have one minute maybe you can help me with this part.
Thank you once again.

]]>I have about 80.000 posts in my database. All posts and round about 20.000 in one category. Is it possible to add an option to update only these posts in this special category?

]]>Hi, I have tried your and a few other plugins. Yours works the best. For published posts at least.
However, I have a problem. I have many scheduled posts on my WordPress website. They’re getting published on a daily bases and are visible at the top of home page. Every post has 1 image, which is uploaded to a separate folder via FTP
I tried other plugins that supposedly autoset featured images every time a post is published, but they don’t work. So, all of my currently schedules posts are getting published without featured image.
I then have to log in to a website every few days just to set featured images on them via your plugin.
Can this be made a bit easier?
Maybe set featured images for schedules posts instead of just published ones?
Or maybe set up some kind of internal plugin schedule, for example it can check the posts daily/weekly/monthly and set featured images on those that don’t have one?
