ShareThis clearly has management problems: no support for the latest WordPress releases, no updates in almost a year, poor rating scores since the downturn. Too bad. The integration with myCRED would be nice but no way I’ll pay for a subscription to broken software.

This plugin used to be excellent but lately I have seen a lot of malware ads popping up on my website by using this plugin. Fake Chrome updates started to appear and replaced the pages users were at on the site. Sneaky redirections, tracking users, displaying fake google chrome update ads.
Just do not USE THIS PLUGIN. You have been warned.

Do not install and definitely don’t activate the ShareThis plugin. Once installed it places trackers on your site that cannot be removed and it leaves the sharing bar on the website even after the plugin appears to have been uninstalled.

It is true that this plugin adds a ton (like over 40) of tracking scripts and other spyware to the site. It will slow the website down even with caching. Besides that, why in the heck have they put all these tracking scripts in and why does www.ads-software.com allow trash plugins like this to stay active, because this really wastes our time.
DON’T INSTALL THIS, IT IS A BAD PLUGIN.
Although the buttons are cute, if you don’t look at the code and what’s really happening.

This plugin is a virus or something. I created this account to write this review. You can’t uninstall it. You can remove it from your plugins, but it embeds itself in your theme and collects data from your site. It added over 100 tracker links to my site!!! This added about 2-4 seconds to the load time of all my pages. I had to reinstall my entire theme to get rid of it. This plugin needs to be removed from WordPress’s directory. I can understand them adding the tracker links when the plugin is installed as it is free. The fact you cannot get rid of it once you uninstall it is a major issue, and not okay. DO NOT INSTALL. There are so many other plugins that do the same thing and don’t hijack your site.

Sometimes this plugin gets a little glitchy, but we ask it to do weird, outside-the-box things.
For the most part, it’s wonderful! We haven’t found anything we think is better and would highly recommend it.

This is plugin is literally the worst I’ve ever used. It creates a GOD AWFUAL popup asking users to share your content that overs over the top of the page with out any option to turn it off. It also places it’s own analytics pixel on your website to track your site visitors.

As the title states, I’m not one to leave a negative review without first discussing things with the author or trying to come up with some form of solution, but the issues with this plugin are way beyond a small patch to fix it.
First off, this plugin has caused a tremendous number of issues on one of our clients sites.
First, this plugin saves the settings via ajax, so if there is any js errors on the page things just won’t work.
Second, the amount of time/weight that this plugin has added to the site is astronomical. This has increased our clients page load times 10 fold.
Finally, and most offensive, each time the settings page is saved a javascript function is fired, st_log(). This function is actually tracking user activity and sending data over to the plugin authors Google Anaalytics account. This is strictly against WordPress plugin repository rules.

I have used this plugin in the past without any issue. But since this major re-haul of the plugin there have been some extremely major bugs and errors that have gone un-resolved.
Anyone looking to integrate share this, I would stick to the standalone embed code that you can generate on there site.
Do avoid this plugin as it has far too many problems to be run on a production ready site.

This plugin will ad 30 seconds of load time, install multiple tracking codes, and conflicts with many other plugins.
So bad, that I created an account just to review!
Not to mention that in a year and a half, not one visitor out of millions used it.

The use of this plugin means any users to your site get loaded with a tracking cookie that you can’t opt out of, each visitor has to do it themselves from 3 different websites according to their privacy policy.

Seems to insert spurious tags onto the end of page/post names (url)…
1) So the page/post links that get inserted into twitter feeds are not correct!
and
2) Because I have the <base> tag set within header.php, whenever I refresh any page it goes back to the home page instead of staying on the current page…

you can’t completly delete it. it modify your theme files and slow your website.
