I have installed your plugin version 1.4.1 in my website and because of nonce validation lack in hook wp_ajax_nopriv_shared_counts_email, my server was down for a whole day!!
The logs? DDoS Attack in wp-admin/admin-ajax.php with POST these data:

It was not supported on Zeever theme and the social share buttons was spread all over the post content multiple instances of social share buttons was displayed and there was no other option to fix it.

This is a very nice plugin to have but, there is no clear or intuitive way to set it up. It seems like the questions in the Setting panel are good questions to have as options but when you go to use the plugin meta boxes in the individual post’s editor, there is no clear way to “do anything” with the plugin.
I believe it is lacking the simple instructions as to what each functionality or button is supposed to do.
It will say ADD URL, for example, in the post editor metabox. And there is not a way of knowing what the url is or where it is going or what it is going to do if you enter the url.
Then it has a widget to add a new image which, I assume is going to be used as the image that is SENT to social media but, that too is unclear as to what the image “does.”
Very ambiguous and lacks the UI/UX needed to use in confidence.

It was either gonna be Shared Counts or Social Warfare. I felt Shared Counts was cheaper, written just as well, very easy to work with. We did some crazy custom stuff.
– saved HTTP and HTTPS counts
– even changed permalink structure, and had it make calls to the old structure as well.
So basically we were able to combine 3 counts:
– old permalink structure in HTTP
– old permalink structure in HTTPS
– new permalink structure in HTTPS
I’m happy camper. Counts are even cached so as to avoid slowing down your site under heavy load. Love you guys!!!

I have tried many, and this is by far the best. The previous plugin we used was good as well, but it did not allow the ability to regain your shares after URL changes. This one does, and works just as you would expect it too, and it is lightweight.

I was advised to use this plugin by our WebDev. I tried a bunch of settings and I couldn’t get it to work. I emailed the Shared Counts developers and they got back to me within the hour. Pretty amazed. I wasn’t able to get back to them and they left a follow up email the next morning asking if I was still experiencing any issues.
Turns out it was user error (mine) the whole time. Great plugin, would install again.

Creates almost absolutely no site drag when used correctly(I mean I use it only for providing the share buttons for the users and nothing else)
Also, love how it looks. Adds beauty to the page, unlike other popular share buttons which add a lot of site drag and look ugly and annoying.

This sharing plugin packs it all but isn’t overloaded with useless features.
Very easy to setup, very light and low amount of requests, It’s also fully GDPR compliant, storing no user data.
It can fetch http share counts but even here it fares better than most plugins: You can include all articles but you don’t have to! If you only have few dozen of old articles that got a lot of http buzz, you can add them manually. This way the performance of the articles that don’t need http share count recovery don’t suffer. Simply amazing.
Forget the big names, Shared Counts does it all better. I really hope this plugin gets the attention it deserves.

Really like this plugin. When I recently converted my 9-year-old website from HTTP to HTTPS, Facebook treated each of my new HTTPS pages as brand new content. So, I lost all my hard-earned social proof for hundreds of pages. And each social counter on every page had to start over again — at zero.
I’m pleased to report that after installing the plugin, all my historical figures have returned.
This plugin successfully aggregates all my social “shares” and “likes” from multiple platforms and combines all of them together into one single total.
