I can install the plugin OK and get the activation email OK. When clicking the link to activate we get the following error:
An error occurred on Reach API Could not contact your WordPress site at ‘https://[domain-removed]/wp-content/plugins/shopbop-widget/lib/shopbop-api.php’. Please refresh this page to try again. HTTP Code: 404
I have tried this many times with all plugins disabled.
Any clues as to way this is happening?
I receive the email activation and get An error occurred on Reach API Expired activation code. Please request a new activation code from within WordPress. Caching off, all plugins off.. I’ve tried 8 times now. help?
I went to update the widget today and accidentally hit delete. I redownloaded the widget and tried to go through the steps to get it to work again and it is now not showing up as a widget in my widgets menu and when I try to get the email to reset my account I get “An error occurred on Reach API could not contact your wordpress site at “. Please refresh this page to try again. Error: malformed”.
I had the widget working okay prior to accidentally deleting and installing. Not sure how to fix this issue.
Are there any plans to update this plugin for SSL compatibility? I read the previous response that the images and their hosting are outside of the widget’s control; however, the 2 images that are loading insecurely for me appear to be Shopbop images, as they are both ads for saving 15% off your first mobile order.
This is a huge problem given that Chrome will start showing warnings on both non-SSL sites and SSL sites that load insecure images. This plugin is the only thing preventing my clients from getting the green padlock, and they don’t want to have to deactivate this plugin.
Hi again,
Not sure if you guys can do anything about this one, but the product images coming from Amazon CDN only works with http. When attempting to make my site secure and load the images using https, I get errors in my console log. In opening the image urls with https in the browser, I also get an error saying the certificate is invalid.
Basically it’s not possible to have our WordPress blogs be secure when running this widget, because the images can’t be loaded properly using https. Is this something you can change on your end or pass on to Shopbop?
Hi,
Not sure if this is something you’ll be able to control, but when running the Google PageSpeed Insights tool, I found that images being loaded into the plugin were not being optimized. Please see screenshot below:

Please I need your help!
I was have shopbop widget in my website, it was working well!! and then I remove it to get the last updated widget and after installing, there is an activation email should be received, but I don’t receive it whether inbox or in spam folder. So do you have a way to make it works again
I recently validated my blog using the W3C validator, and it’s returning several errors that coming from the Shopbop plugin. It seems the plugin is returning 2 types of errors:
1. & did not start a character reference. (& probably should have been escaped as &.)
The links generated by the plugin have ampersands that need to be escaped. For example https://www.shopbop.com/york-small-makeup-bag-tory/vp/v=1/1591486020.htm?&extid=wordpress-TORYB44142 should be https://www.shopbop.com/york-small-makeup-bag-tory/vp/v=1/1591486020.htm?&extid=wordpress-TORYB44142 instead.
2. Duplicate attribute class
Eg: <a class="shopbop-product-link"href="https://www.shopbop.com/selvedge-boyfriend-jeans-3x1/vp/v=1/1595813552.htm?&extid=wordpress-THRXO30206" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" class="shopbop-widget-carousel-description-button-anchor">
Can you please address these issues? Thanks.
I’ve designed and developed a few blogs that utilize this plugin, and I’ve noticed that the widget is no longer appearing in the sidebar with the recent update of WordPress 4.3. The plugin can be installed, settings formatted, and the widget dragged to the widget location. However, it doesn’t appear on the front of the site. I have at least 10 examples of where this issue is occurring (various hosting providers and I didn’t develop all the sites). Thanks!
I just recently changed my WordPress theme wherein all my widgets are inside a container and it seems that the Shopbop widget couldn’t adapt to the container. I tried minimizing the size but no luck. Is there any way I could fix this?
BTW, you could check the widget here for your reference: https://www.yanadelacruz.com
