This plugin has the best user interface I have tested in many e-commerce extensions.

Этот плагин мог бы быть хорошим, но в нём отсутствует выбор валюты, используемой в магазине. Из-за этого я не могу использовать платёжную систему “Пей пал” (у меня в рублях). Из-за этого пользоваться этим плагином невозможно!

Best plugin.

Prior to the update, my website was working well. After the update, my product images are not loading and shipping is not working. I’ve had a developer working on this with no success. I’ve searched on Word Press and the Shopp site for an answer. I’ve posted on forums. I’ve posted on third party forums. No luck. And the answer from Shopp is to purchase a “key” in order to get support. And even then, it could be hours to days to receive an answer. This is totally unacceptable for ecommerce.
There has to be a better option out there and I am on a mission to find it.

New version copes with all 4.4 changes

The plugin was working fine, not great, but file.
But now it does not work with Edge, so I hope there will be an update soon.
The Paypal button does not work in Edge.

On the plus side, Shopp does usually work (which is why i gave it 3 stars), however it is far from the best choice. WooCommerce, for instance, is infinitely better in every respect.
Some drawbacks with Shopp:
1) Poor documentation and support. Moreover, all answers to frequent problems are hidden on the shopplugin.net forum. You need to sign in first to view common solutions, you can’t search them through google, and the search they do have on their website is terrible.
If I have a problem in WooCommerce, a simple Google search turns up the solution 90% of the time, with shopp I need to go on digging.
2) Extensions. They work, but you do not have an excellent selection. I also had an experience upgrading from shop 1.2 to the newest version which broke all of my extensions. Turns out these extensions needed to be updated to a newer version, but I was never told this. I had it to discover it myself through trial and error. It’s again a situation where having no answers online is a problem.
3) Shopp stores images into the DB by default. I’ve seen this result in simple WordPress sites having databases that are over 600MB. This is an incredibly poor choice to have activated by default.
4) A general lack of polish which becomes far more apparent when using other WordPress ecommerce solutions.
In summary, I respect everything the people at Shopp have achieved, but for eCommerce with WordPress you should save yourself the aggravation and go with a real shopping solution like WooCommerce or WP eCommerce.

This plugin works for basic eCommerce needs. However, I’ve experienced several issues with adjusting shipping options, taxes, and product addons.
Shopp offers a manual with instructions for basic configurations. They also have a support forum that is NOT open to the public (a fee is required). While Shopp does offer a list of support professionals that you can contact for additional help, the list has over 7500 names listed! Shopp also advertises that they have a support turnaround time of 2-6 days — which I feel is plain unacceptable in eCommerce. While they do offer faster service for a fee, the Priority Support Credit is “Sold Out” and Escalated Credit is no longer available.
This inadequate availability of support (both documentation and live) makes it very difficult to “Be Patient” and “Be Polite” as they have requested on “Shopp Support: Tips for Getting Help”.

Despite their promise for this to be free … when setting up they hit you every step of the way to purchase a support program.
After installation, I was checking out the various pages, and the layout of my shopping carts was not good. So I looked at their support forum … community support is severely lacking, their wordpress forum looks like it just starting with not many posts.
All of the how-to videos show a different set of features that apparently I won’t get unless I have the support key.
Shopp is free, sure enough, but after the hook is in and they reel you on board, you find you need to pay for extras … just like *many* other ecommerce plugins … I want to know staight up ahead of time before hand, not after.

Killed my site – could even get it installed:
Fatal error: Call to a member function slug() on a non-object in /home/sites/firstintheq.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/shopp/core/library/Shopp.php on line 331
Another cart to the bin.

I’ve used shopp for around 2 years and it really impressed me with it’s ongoing development and support. The system can handle a lot of traffic and sales when running on a decent server.
Compared to other systems I have tried Shopp is really easy to work with and understand. The tempting system makes changing and customising the shop pages simple and the API gives your more options for advanced customisations.
I would prefer if it used the WordPress media manager rather than the built in image engine. I love that it plays nice with ACF for even more flexibility!

I have installed this plugin because it is simple to strip its ecommerce aspects. I just need a catalog.
Everything is displayed with functions so you have nothing to print_r and observe.
So I needed a little suggestion to show only first level of categories. They asked me to be a client first. I don’t know why, but I just didn’t like that greedy answer, mostly when you have a code maybe intentionally hard to understand and manipulate and also a hidden forum.
There are a lot of people willing to pay that are in a hurry, don’t know any coding etc, but for only one little line of code that I needed… shame! The previous 5 stars reviews seem to be from developers and their friends.

Good step to make it free, but there are a lot of things that can be improve.

Better then anything else.

Easier to theme than other offerings. Any bugs are dealt with quickly and the help-desk can often provide patches for problems to tide you over until a next release. The API is very flexible and can be extended if needed. I only use this eCommerce plugin for my shop or catalog projects.

I have been working with Shopp since the 1.0.x days and I have seen it grow into a mature WordPress plugin. I could not be more proud of the code base and happy for Jon and the other developers that have committed code.
Shopp is an excellent choice for your mom and pop online store. It’s easy to use, has great customer service (paid), and has a growing community with extra plugins and themes.

I have been using Shopp for around 6 months now, and I could not be happier with it. There are many reasons why I love Shopp, so i’ll make it simple and list them!
As my primary role is to match a given design down to the pixel, to find a system that really lets me do this and within my time constraints is super cool. I seriously can not thank the guys at Shopp enough for this.
I would not hesitate to reccomend Shopp; my clients love it, my colleagues love it, and I love it – I will definitely continue to develop my clients sites in Shopp.

Been using Shopp for several years now to run a high traffic store, was the best choice I could have made for WordPress eCommerce. Jonathan and the other main contributors have always been super helpful and easy to reach.
One of the best things about Shopp in my experience is how easy it is to customize. Jonathan has built a very solid and stable platform for developers and store owners alike to build a site upon.

I’m not unbiased – having worked with and on Shopp for quite a period of time now – but it is absolutely a solid choice, especially for developers wanting to build exceptional e-commerce experiences for their clients without being hemmed in by a restrictive framework.

I’ve been using Shopp since version 1.0 and I’ve been personally involved with the project for the past 2.5 years in several capacities, most recently as a core contributor.
It’s been really cool to see the code base mature, and Shopp 1.3 is without a doubt the best version yet. It finished up a rock solid foundation that was initially rolled out with 1.2.
The codebase in 1.3 has reached a level of maturity that provides a fantastic, robust framework for additional features in the future.
The developers of Shopp are obsessed with doing things right, even when that means holding back features in order to engineer a proper solution, or saying no to feature creep.
And that insane commitment to quality is why Shopp is the only e-commerce plugin I use for my clients.
(Yes, I may be a bit of a Shopp fanatic ?? )
