I was performing WP updates on a client site and Wordfence flagged this plugin as being abandoned, since it has not been updated in quite some time. Can you please let me know one way or the other if this plugin has been abandoned? Thanks.
]]>Not sure if I’m missing something super obvious but the plugin runs and it finds shortcodes but it doesn’t actually removed them.
They show in the details however they are still present in the page code and the content if I go into the editor.
How do I make it actually remove them? Is there a big delete button I’m missing or something?
There are no instructions to this effect and I’ve looked through all the settings and haven’t found the answer. Why is the plugin not removing the shortcodes it finds?
Thanks,
Nicole
Hi there,
At first glance this plugin is great. It cleared all my WPBakery shortcodes which are preventing me from moving to a new lighter weight theme. However, I realized it’s also removed all my images and videos which are inside the shortcodes.
Is there a way to use this plugin to remove all shortcodes but keep all the media? For example the video shortcode is removed but the video remains. or the image shortcode is removed but the images remains?
I have over 500 posts with images and videos but I can’t use this plugin as it removes all my media.
Thank you
Will
]]>Hi there,
I’m sure this is a great plugin, and I would purchase the paid version BUT
I have installed the lite version and watched the video.
But nothing makes it clear on how to actually apply cleaning up once you have configured things.
I have a website that I am switching from an old theme with Visual Composer (WP Bakery), but can’t figure out how to cleanup the old shortcodes.
TIA, Dave
]]>I just have a question regarding the shortcode cleaner. I have a site on a private network that was developed over the last several years using wpBakery. I want to delete WPbakery and install elemental pro.
I have also used other programs that insert shortcodes into the text. (So for example a nav menu). I want to keep those. So when I turn off wpbaker, the shortcode cleaner will clean just the broken (i.e. wpbakery) but leave the unbroken shortcodes right? I’m assuming I’ll be purchasing shortcut pro at some point. Most of the pages have two columns: the first column is a vertical nav menu (put into the page using the text field for WPBakery) and a second column. I know the columns will likely be gone, but if the rest of the unbroken shortcodes still work that is ok, I’ll just quickly create two columns in Elemental and drag the ‘working’ short codes into the new columns. Does that sound like what the Shortcode cleaner (or the pro version to remove from the database) will do?
THanks.
Will this delete shortcodes generated by WPBakery Page Builder?
]]>QUESTION:
Once the plug-in has been installed and turned on then it does the cleaning immediately, or first it shows what is going to clean?
I’m afraid to install it and clean it straight away without letting me know what it will cleanse.
Thank you
]]>If you’re on WordPress 5.0+, you will need to install the Classic Editor plugin for this plugin to be able to clean the shortcodes from your content.
]]>Hello,
Is your plugin deleting the shortcodes or simply hides it? Because Divi is storing their shortcodes into the database. Does it mean that you can’t revert to Divi after using your plugin?
Thanks.
How does your cleaner handle images inserted into DIVI – Are they still present and linked to the correct file after the cleaning process?

Your plugin description mentions stripping shortcodes inserted by page builders, and uses the Elementor and Beaver Builder as two examples. However, neither of those page builders work by inserting shortcodes into the post_content, so they do not need to be cleaned.
