Love using short codes, The block editor is handy too, but short codes are so nice. Good job.

This plugin is god awful. Not only does it break parts of woocommerce their update notifications are insanely irritating when combined with profilepress.
Shortcodes aren’t that hard to add so it baffles me why people need a plugin like this to do such a simple task.

Good Plugin for useful shortcode!

love this plugin! thanks.

This is a fantastic idea, it retains the normal functionality of WordPress Shortcodes where as developers can properly control the output and the end users simply use the shortcode in a more intuitive way.
Please develop THIS and NOT GUTENBERG.
PS bonus round: WooCommerce is training wheels for Magento, if you are using Woo and not liking it then its time for you to get off the the pedal bike and buy a real car, ie: Magento.

Guys, like the plugin, it is a useful one. But there are errors, please develop it.
Thank you!

Absolutely love this idea.

A shame since the concept has potential and the code (which you’d have to review, just to figure out how to use this plugin) is pretty good, but wow, it just doesn’t feel ready to use, especially with a woocommerce site. In any case, it would be nice to see the developer/s polish this plugin at least enough that users have a level confidence in the project.

Totally messes up Woocommerce when installed.

Unuseable with WooCommerce. Fix this, and I will change review.

Straightforward, easy to use, easy to understand when one checks the source code. Better documentation wouldn’t hurt. Anyway five of five thanks.

Loving Shortcake for development!
I’m finding it quite extensible and have just started to create custom fields for my post elements.
In future I would love to see nested shortcodes support, that said, for everything I would love to see improved, right now it is already proving to be amazing (so still 5 star worthy).
Lets get this to core ASAP!!

Hoping for further development so that the interface can improve.

There is no shortcode option in the media dialog.

After I added my custom code to support my shortcode, it worked like magic. I could not believe that it was that simple.
I am looking forward for support repeatable fields and nested shortcode in the future.
Keep up the good work! ??

I always hated shortcodes. The meaningless string wrapped with brackets was not good enough. Users struggled to understand what is a shortcode, and why they need to know how to “code a shortcode” into a WYSIWYG editor. It doesn’t make sense. We wanted more from the WordPress post editor.
Then, it came Shortcake. And I finally like shortcodes. No more meaningless pieces of code. Now we can see the real content (or at least a visual clue) of what we’re editing. Now we have a nice UI to work with shortcode attributes. Now we can create shortcodes that are so cool, and works so great, that user will never find out that they’re using a shortcode.
Please, merge Shortcake into core ASAP! ??

I’m very glad this seems to becoming part of WordPress core, I deeply hope that plugins developers will use it ??
Shortcodes are a key element to WordPress, they need to be more usable.

Shortcake es y debe ser el presente y futuro de WordPress, para estandarizar el uso visual de shortcodes frente a la creciente cantidad de maquetadores visuales que salen y no contribuyen a la estandarización de usos comunes, como el de shortcodes.

Custom fields plugins are fantastic, but there are times where the content in those custom fields need to be (in a sense) portable all the while being intermingled with other copy. Enter Shortcake to solve this deceivingly complex problem in a very elegant way. It’s one of those plugins that handled problems I didn’t even know I’d run into when trying to take an approach like this. It’s full of wonderful surprises and niceties (e.g. pulling in your custom TinyMCE editor styles into the preview it generates) that make it really pleasant to work with as a developer. I think I like it more than my clients will.

Just added integration with my BeerXML Shortcode plugin, works great!
It would be nice if there were some additional examples and some documentation about what the parameters are, but it’s a great start. Keep up the good work!

Sometimes I am forced to use Visual Composer. One great feature it provides is the Shortcodes UI built in. You can create shortcodes as normal in your code and then register a UI for them using the Visual Composer backend.
Shortcake does this as well. Currently using simple arrays within the code to build out the UI for a shortcode. I see this plugin expanding and providing more complex field types (repeaters for tabs for example). I am loving it so far. Its the perfect plugin for developers that do a lot of custom theme development.
I don’t always use shortcodes, but when I do they’re enhanced with Shortcake…
