This is an amazing plugin to have while learning the WP Template Hierarchy! This has my recommendation!

I love this plugin! It works very well and shows the WP Template file being used to render a particular webpage. My only gripe is that it is poorly documented. I had almost given up but this article by @lukefive which tells you how to enable the admin bar on the viewed page helped me get it working.
Thank you.

Very useful for developers.
How about showing parts that are coming from get_template_part()
as well?
Thank you!

Why are updates being issued that don’t actually change anything other than the version number, like this? “No functional change at all except the version number in the plugin php file and donation url.” This just wastes all your user’s time doing pointless plugin updates to our sites. The last three updates were the same.
Apart from this, the plugin works fine and is a very useful development tool.

We build some pretty robust themes and it can be easy to lose track of what page a template is using. This saves me so much time in troubleshooting and updating templates! Great plugin!

I use this plugin on most of the sites I develop. Extremely useful

Not seeing the template info? In the WordPress admin area, under Users, find the entry for the administrative login you are using. Click the edit link. Look for a checkbox named Toolbar. Make sure that is checked/enabled and the setting is saved (Update Profile). You should now see the template info, assuming you are visiting the site with the same browser you used to log into the sites’s WordPress admin. You can do this by having different tabs open in the browser.
This is not mentioned in the plugin FAQ. Otherwise, this plugin displays the template information as advertised. It can be very useful for tracking down obscure PHP problems inside template files.

If you want to edit any theme, then you should get this plugin. It shows you which template file is used for the page you are watching. That way you will always know what template file to edit in your child theme. Great and thanks a lot!

I had some problems with a premium theme (the developer must have been mad coding it or just bad). I could not find the template file for a specific page so i can re-code some stuff, this plugin saved my day
Rating: 5 stars
Didn’t realize when I installed it where the info about the template being used would be, but as soon as I did, it was great!
I had to search for “template” in page source:
Template: single.php
