For performance reasons, and instead of rendering plain CSS in page, maybe it would be better to generate a static file, versioned on each update for example ?
It could allow to cache this file, and serve it without php code execution on each page request.
Could it be possible for you to add this feature ?

Indispensable. I can add custom css from the WP root admin panel. But memo to the developers: you mark mediaqueries with red x’s. This doesn’t affect performance, but please, it’s long past time to fix this.

Warning to any one using this plugin: This plugin has been around for years at yet still loads CSS in the most inefficient way, serving the CSS using a dynamic non-cacheable request on every page. This will not only affect the first page visited but will delay the render of every subsequent page visited.
My advice would be to remove this plugin and use the default WordPress CSS editor, under the appearance > customize tab. There’s simply no reason to use this plugin.

Simple, lightweight and perfect. It’s the first plugin I add to all my sites. Has a decent sized viewer, unlike the css option in customizer that comes with some themes. Zero problems with this plugin.

Clean and simple as a Custom CSS plugin is supposed to be. Tired of all the silly un-needed bells and whistles getting added to CSS plugins. If you could move it out of the Appearance sub nav group and into its own link in the dashboard nav so I can go right to it while editing, I’ll change this to 5 stars in a heartbeat!

I use this on almost every website I create. It is simple and works as intended. I much prefer it to WordPress’s built-in CSS processor because it doesn’t add CSS to the head of your document. Often I use it to test styles before adding these to my website’s main CSS sheet.

I noticed the injected CSS looks like this https://mysite.com/?sccss=1&ver=VERSION and doesn’t get cached by caching plugins.
This URL is served by PHP, which in my case adds 1 second to my page load time.
Other custom CSS plugins generate a static file which is way faster. Very disappointed by this plugin and I don’t understand how 200k+ sites are running it with this major flaw.

I was sick and tired of having to add custom classes to body tag of posts and pages just so that I could override css in a theme/plugin, css got bloated and a little messy at times and was sick and tired of using the !imortant method.
This plugin just solves the problem as it is the last css loaded so auto override of all theme and plugin css.
And to make things even better, using it in wordpress Customiser is just amazing especially if your doing css for different screen sizes and the changes auto show on the site, click publish and your done.
The only thing missing from this great plugin is the ability to just click on sections of the page when in Customiser and it auto goes to the corresponding css (if any) for the page element clicked (similar to dev tools on chrome).
I use it in conjunction with “Viewport Resizer” to see what it looks like on different screen sizes and chrome developer tools to select the elements on the page so you know what the ID’s and classes are for the element you want to change.
being able to select elements in customiser view would be a massive improvement on this great plugin.

If you have a WordPress site and your going to be making tweaks to the design or layout of your site from themes to plugins YOU NEED THIS, forget about needing sub-themes and hard coding the changes you want to make, unless its a massive change this will do everything you need! I love it!

With the latest version of wordpress 4.9.1, it’s not working well. It has scrolling problems when you scroll the CSS. Also, it would be helpful if after saving, the page stays in the same css line without having to scroll again if you want to make a change to the last line that was just modified.
