Doesn’t work on WP 4.8
I tested with several themes, including Twenty Seventeen, no active plugins.
The button “Find something to customize” does nothing but display the message “Select your element”. Clicking elements on the preview does nothing at all.
The screen Simple Customize > Customizations shows an empty list.
Am I missing somethig?
I just noticed this today. Had to do some sleuthing and realized that as of 4.7x, any settings created with simple customize cannot be saved.
You click the save and publish button, it cycles for a moment and then save and publish is still lit up without actually being saved.
]]>Hey Marius. (Sounds Scandinavian to me)
I am testing out your Simple customize plugin. Locally using Desktop Server and Twenty Sixteen. Clicked Simple Customize. Clicked find something to Customize. Tried clicking something like the site title, menu item, post title…. nothing happens though.
I have turned off most other plugins.
]]>*font issue*
Some of the fonts (mainly google fonts) are not loading properly onto the website. My interest is Lato, but none of the Google fonts are loading.
I don’t see the changes in a live preview as I modify the customizer. For instance, when selecting color I won’t be able to see the change unless I save and reload.
]]>For example, this is the customization string I was using:
This is sort of catastrophic for me. I was doing a massive set of customizations with the idea of moving them around, Not being able to do so is somewhat devastating.
(Yes the theme names are the same between installs)
]]>Adding new categories don’t show up on the customize screen. New selectors, if put in one of the wordpress defaults do, But categories do not.
The theme used is a basic blank output from underscores.me
]]>Hi !
This plugin is a great IDEA !!
But, I don’t find the picker very easy to find elements we want to customize, especially when elements are included in one each other, with Z-depth, semi transparency etc…
It would be nice to have the possibility to enter our classes, and override the picker.
Simple CSS syntaxes would be fine.
For example, if I want to customize my list elements and my H1 background, just need to enter this in the field :
ul li, h1
What do you think of that ?
Thanks you for listening ??
]]>Hello – I need to adjust the text color I’m using on my nav bar titles as well as the categories listed on my side bar. When I click on the word I’d like to change the color of, and select “color” on the “what to change” dropdown, then adjust the color manually, nothing happens. I’ve selected several different elements to try to customize (again, I only need to change the text color), and nothing happens. Can you help me troubleshoot? Do I need to select a different option from the “what to change background”?
Thanks!
]]>I have tried this plugin on two separate sites with two different themes. In the customize page view under the section “simple customize” where you add new styles, there is no style selector field as your screen shot shows. All I have is:
name
category
what to customize
and the search function.
No selector.
I can configure this on the settings page, but from what I can see, this is broken in the customizer view.
This plugin is fantastic and after extensive googling is the only one that works in 4.0 (another similar one – wp customize – had good intentions then became abandoned.
As a web designer I would rather pay for this plugin on codecanyon as I would then feel it would continue to be supported proactively. Do you intend on supporting it in the foreseeable future? Also, if it ever breaks because you no longer support it, will the css rules stop working i.e. they are not in a file that can be retrieved, but are in the database arent they?
There is NO other plugin out there that currently does the same as this one, and works. It is GREAT – I only hope you fix this part of it, and continue support.
Please place this on codecanyon and get the income from it you deserve. I will pay for it for sure if you do.
]]>Hi there – –
i love the premise of this plug-in. However i am not having much like making any use of it..
i am running customize with the preview window…
am able to select an element – i.e. “hello-world”
in which the name, category, and what to customize appears as selectors.
i make some selections and click “add element” and the screen refreshes and im back to where i started.
any light you can shed on this would be grand.
many thanks / all the best
]]>Hi,
I cannot get this plugin to work on my MU setup. I have disable all plugins but two (cannot disable) nginx helper, and domain mapping plugin.
The plugin installs, and I see the settings in the appearance menu, but when I go to customize there is no option there from simple customize, just the standard stuff. I’ve also tried several different themes.
Does this plugin not work with nginx or the domain mapping plugin? I have a dev machine setup (localhost) using a wamp type server and it works there. Obviously, the wamp server doesn’t use nginx, or the domain mapping plugin.
Thanks in advance.
