I know this plugin is discontinued and fully understand if you can’t help here. But a small question … Is it possible to change the shortcode input from:
[dropcap]...[/dropcap]
to
<p>[dropcap]...[/dropcap]</p>
Been trying to change the plugin files but haven’t been able to change the input.

]]>Hi, my Drop Cap Automation stopped working (possibly due to new update/Gutenberg) so I manually added the shortcode to the posts.
The first letter (letter within the shortcode) is now cut off on Show Content excerpts in my featured post widgets.
I don’t know why the automation stopped working. It was working fine yesterday.
I know you don’t keep up with this plugin anymore, but I’d certainly appreciate some help!

And I got this problem: When I start a paragraph (let’s call it X) with a dropcap letter and end the paragraph with a footnote, theres no empty line between paragraph X and the subsequent paragraph Y. I am working on customizing the posts section of my blog. I uploaded Simple Drop Caps yesterday & it was working fine. It was drop caping the 1st letter of each post. Today, I uploaded TinyMCE Advanced & justified my posts. Now the drop cap is gone.
Is it possible to use both of these plugin/widgets? Do you have any suggestions as to what the problem may be?

]]>When the automatic drop cap is enabled, the line height of the paragraph containing the drop cap is changed. I have tried adjusting the line height in the custom CSS box, but that only affects the letter that is drop capped, not the rest of the paragraph.
How can I prevent the line height of the entire paragraph from being affected?
]]>When displaying the full post the drop-down displays as expected. However, when looking at the excerpts of the list of posts the first word (enclosed with the dropcap shortcode) does not display.
How is this fixed?

Is there a way to increase font size relative to current font size.
Was excited to use this plug-in. Installed on 3 of our blogs (we really loved it) – then realized later that the plug-in makes it so that the first letter of the description in all our existing Pinterest pins (we have thousands out there!) is missing! We use “pinterest article rich pins” plug-in but willing to bet that this happens for pretty much everybody who has Pinterest pins.
Is there a fix? or are you working on a fix I hope? Would love to be able to use the plugin!

Thanks for this lovely plugin! I just need help with the size of the dropcap. In the plugin settings, I found display mode, dropcap color settings which I could change. But I want to change the size of the dropcap as it is too big! Help Please!

The drop cap plugin works great when the span code is inserted into individual blog posts, and displayed on the blog post page. When those same posts are aggregated to the home page (Metro Pro Theme), the drop cap letter just disappears.
I’m a novice, so I suspect that I’m missing something basic in how best to implement/use this plug-in.

One some pages/posts, the text besides the drop cap takes 3 lines, from the 4th line the text go back to default full width. However, on some other pages/posts, the text besides the drop cap takes 4 lines, full width text goes back at the 5th line. The text font and font size are the same in different pages and posts.
I want to make it to so that the text goes back to full width at 4th line. How do I do this?

It would be great to allow the option to use the drop cap style on more than the first character, especially for non-English languages. I’ve edited simple-drop-cap/includes/register-shortcode.php like this to just make the plugin follow where I put the shortcode:
