I have used this simple and effective plug-in on many sites for several years. It is important that a site’s Events page not have out-of-date events on it. This plug-in does the basics superbly. Here are two enhancement suggestions:
1. Undelete function
The user can accidentally delete an event, especially if working on a handheld. Let’s get a recovery function programmed into the plug-in.
2. Recurring events
If, for example, a site has an event that occurs every Wednesday, or the first Monday of the month, or something similar, it would be helpful for the plug-in to enable recuurring events between a specific date range.

I use the shortcode [events], there are two problems. I have one event that passed “Tue April 6” but is still showing. Secondly, I have two events “Sep 6” and “Sep 7” that only appear when logged in. Any idea what it might be due to? I have no cache plugin installed on the website.

Show only events of a specific year

I have been looking for this kind of calendar plugin for a long time, so I really appreciate it!

I was wondering if there was the possibility to show only events of one specific year. I’m quite new to PHP so I can’t figure it out myself.

My idea was, that if I can only show events of a specific year, that I can insert the titles of the year in between the calendar, so that it would be structured a little bit.

Maybe someone can help?

Add space between events

Hi,
You can see that I have a long list of events scheduled. I would like to improve the layout by adding space between different events – ie. after the tweet link and before the next event beneath it.
I think it looks confusing for the title of the next event to be stuck hard after the previous one, with a space following it, but not above it.
Can you please help.

I use your plugin for a long time, and I’d like to propose a french translation and some small fixes.

Hi,

We are using this plugin for a German site. Default language of the site is German. But a particular letter is not displaying properly. Ie to show the month “March” in german the letter “a” is not displaying properly. Its shows as M?rz. How to fix this issue? Please help.

Description links not working

The description links beside “See more detail” do not work for the default subscriber role. If I sign in with an administrator role then the links will work fine. It appears to be a user rights issue. If I give the Default Subscriber role more rights in the Post & Pages then the links work for the subscriber. However I do not want to give a subscriber that much access.

NOTE:I am displaying the calendar using the calendar ID in a page.

Any idea if there is a fix.

Calendar works great on laptop.
Having trouble with calendar display on smart phones
Events show up on days as dots. Touch dot to read event and description disappears.
Touch dot again and nothing shows up.
Turn phone sideways to read event calendar and that has disappears also
Hostgator used plugin at my website when I paid to have site updated and more responsive. These technical problems showed up and hostgator refuses to help figure this out. Told me to reach out to developer. I am so far out of my comfort zone. I would appreciate any help.

I am trying to hide emails from showing in popup descriptions by using this tag [attendees email=”hide”]

But the emails keep displaying.

I use Xola to integrate booking capabilities with my Google Calendar–could this be causing the inability to hide emails?

Grid Format Crashes

I use this on a site that needs calendars in multiple formats, all coming from a Google calendar. The front page has a list of events and there is a calendar page with a grid. The front works perfect. The calendar page spins and then crashes. I finally just had to put back the Google embed on that page but wanted to let you know. Would love to have your prettier version on the page.

Google USA Holidays Showing Wrong Dates

I have a calendar made up solely of Google’s USA Haoliday calendar, ID: en.usa#[email protected].

Christmas Day is showing up both on Dec. 23 and 24 but not on Dec. 25, which is listed as being the day after Christmas.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day do not appear at all.

Valentine’s Day appears on Feb. 13.

There are other anomalies, but I’ll stop here. To the best of my knowledge, I have everything configured correctly.

I’m working on getting a Google Calendar up on my website and I’m having issues getting it to appear at all.

I’ve double-checked my Google Calendar ID and API key and everything seems to be in order. “Always enqueue” is checked and the calendar has been made public.

I’ve troubleshooted to see if it was a problem with the theme or with any of my other plugins, but that also doesn’t seem to be the case.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on? Thanks!

I successfully installed the simple events calendar plugin. In my google calender in the description fields there are HTML-links (to event registration pages). When I display the event calendar in WordPress the links are not clickable (looks like all HTML code is stripped of). Can I configure this somewhere? If not does anyone know of calendar plugins that show the events descriptions content correctly?

The twitter link to widgets is called over http this causes this resource to be blocked by default by the web browser (firefox 42.0 / chrome 47.0) when running on a https site. It would be better to move this to reference the protocol (http / https) in use.
