Nice to be able to choose an appropriate grid size.

Thanks for creating the simple image widget, it’s great!
I was able to easily customize the template to finally display widgetized bootstrap cards the way I want.

With the native image widget that has been introduced with WP 4.8 this plugin has become obsolete. Still, this plugin has served me very well, so 5 stars and thank you for that!

Excellent choice for developers. Uses the native WP functions, and thus automatically supports the new responsive image attributes (srcset / sizes) ??
The widget template is awesome fun; make it work with Bootstrap 3? No problemo, boss – just add the template to your theme directory, adjust the wp_get_attachment_image() call, and off you go ??
Similar to this:
echo wp_get_attachment_image( $image_id, $image_size, false, array( 'class' => 'img-responsive attachment-' . $image_size . ' size-' . $image_size ) );
So, if you need flexibility and KNOW what you’re doing – go for it!

Great plugin and easy to customize.

This worked fine with the latest version of WordPress, WeaverX Theme, and even PageBuilder. But without a way to center or otherwise align the images in the widget area, it just isn’t good enough for my use.

This is easy.

Great plugin! Easy to use and integrates well with WordPress.

When this widget works, it works well and is easy to use. It has worked on 4 out of 5 of my sites. On the 5th site, however, using the same theme and version of theme as the other 4 sites, it will not work at all. I can load it into the sidebar, load an image and text into it, save it, and absolutely nothing happens. I’d like to give this plugin a 5-star rating, and I’d like to be a raving fan. When it’s fixed, I will.

Very easy to use plugin that has just enough features – not too many to be obtrusive, not too few that I’ve ever wanted more. I highly recommend this plugin to anyone looking to implement images in a sidebar easily.

Great plugin! Very easy to use, and custom template for displaying widget is great feature.
Thank you.

Not much to say: it does exactly what it says it does. Great widget. Very easy to use.

Great work, clean code, and it’s easy to modify the output template. I wanted to make exactly this, but discovered that someone already did. My day just got that much better ??

Great plugin! Easy to use and integrates well with WordPress. Better than the Jetpack image widget too. Thanks for making this plugin!
]]>Rating: 5 stars
I keeped Jetpack for widget “image”. So, now I use Simple Image Widget, is easy to use, light wight and work well. Thanks!

I’m not a web person. And since I’m low budget, I’m doing it myself and figuring it out as I go. That means when I have a problem….something doesn’t perform as it should, it’s 50/50 on whether or not I’ll figure it out.
I have Jet Pack and I wanted an to use an image to link to my Mail Chimp sign up page. Jet Packs image widget leaves the image BIG, and resizing it didn’t resolve it. It just made the image fuzzy. Plus the text was gray and hard to read.
No one responded to my question so I found another one – this one. Lots of downloads, recently updated, tested with my version of WP.
1.2.3 presto! Done! THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS (besides it’s EASY) is that it gives you the option of what size you want the image: big, medium, or thumbnail.
Thank you.

I absolutely love the template loader solution. If every widget plugin had something like that, there would be no war in this world. Probably.
Thank you!
]]>Rating: 5 stars
There are other image widgets out there, but this is easily the best, most flexible one ever created. If you’re looking to add images to your sidebar areas, you won’t find a better option.

Does exactly what it says and not a bit more. Easy to use. No extra features I don’t need.
Adding a permanent callout in the sidebar? This is the plugin.
Want to add a “Donate Now” button? This will do it easy.
Well done, I say.

When I put few together, it showed me one of them duplicated.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
Simple and doing its job.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
Well done, well thought out, and simple. Just what is needed. Works great!
]]>Rating: 5 stars
Thanks for the widget. Working perfectly.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
I got an image to appear once but I’ve no idea why as all the other times it just refused to – footer or sidebar – also the size didn’t look great when it did appear – i’m using 3.8 and it’s not been tested for that, so maybe that’s why.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
Easily adds images to widget areas. Simple and to the point.

First:
It’s perfect to add an image with a link and an auxiliary text.
Second:
There are no php errors => and this is rarely(!)
alt and title possibilities would be great ??
Thanks for this plugin
]]>Rating: 4 stars
Would be better if the image alt text worked. Could this be resolved anytime soon? Nevertheless, a good plugin. ??

I’ve installed plugins and widgets in the past, so I know what I’m doing.
I installed and activate this plugin/widget on two WordPress sites. It didn’t show up on the Widgets page for either of them.
So deleted both installations.
Perhaps someone else has created widget that will enable users to put images in the sidebar.
