Images for the post links only show up on some pages, not all. Chrome inspector shows that the image src field is empty rather than containing the bitmap for the image.

It even takes nearly 0.00044 seconds as well to set it up. I am as well superglad to have this issue finally resolved, and with a little bit of CSS I get even the sobriety I like. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful, the author is a genius and this plugin will shoot to the stars… 5 stars from me.

First of all thank you for this plugin it’s really nice and simple for what my client wanted but I do have an issue. I’ve chosen to use the share buttons all posts but the images don’t show up on only some of the posts – on others it’s fine.
It seems as though the source isn’t being placed. I’ve had a look through the PhP but I can’t see what would cause this.
<img src="" title="Facebook" class="ssbl ssbl-img" alt="Share on Facebook">
If you have any ideas it would be much appreciated!
Thank you
Cheryl

Obviously I’m biased but I love it ??

Have found this Plugin works best in Standard posts where I found no conflicts with featured thumbnail images (that I was finding in Video and Quote formats in my theme), so I have changed my review to 5 stars, as it is a nicely designed plugin with very easy install, plus it is free. I also like the Simple Share Buttons Adder version.

Thanks so much for this. I needed something super simple to just have the top 10 sharing links bottom of each post; no tricky counters, no tricky tracking, no bouncing balls, or free candy canes on click.
Does just what I needed and saved me having to “roll my own,” which is about where I was at for this.
THANK YOU! ??

This plugin is light and simple, which means it’s light and simple (not many options in the plugin admin). I simply wanted to center my share icons at the bottom of each post, mess with the padding a bit, and make sure the background of the container matched my website. I know very little about code so while this worked, it could probably be expressed in a better/proper form.
Obviously, save this file before you change it (either through ftp or through your host dashboard, etc).In WordPress admin go to the plugin editor, selected ssbl, and open the file “simple-share-buttons-light/simple-share-buttons-light.php” and find “FRONTEND HOOKS” and find “$output=”….”;
In between the “..” you can style your buttons container, background, button size, whatever. I made the buttons smaller, centered them, and added a transition and opacity effect on hover. So there is some flexibility if you tinker around a bit and it is pretty painless. And again for the experts here, this is probably expressed incorrectly, but it seems so work nicely:
// add ssbl css
function hook_css()
{
$output="<style>.ssbl-wrap{margin-top:90px; margin-bottom:90px; text-align:center;background:#fafafa;} .ssbl-container{background:#fafafa;} .ssbl-img{background:#fafafa;width:32px;height:32px;padding:0 6px 0 6px;border:0;box-shadow:0;display:inline;-webkit-transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out;-ms-transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out;-o-transition:opacity .3s ease-in-out;transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out;}.ssbl-wrap a:hover,.ssbl-wrap a:active {zoom: 1;filter: alpha(opacity=40);opacity: 0.4;}</style>";
echo $output;

I’m consider myself to be a bit of a ‘speed demon’ when it comes to site loading time. Perhaps it’s the ridiculously slow internet in Australia that has helped me appreciate sites that load fast that has made me empathetically want to do the same with my own.
I run a few different websites and when I saw David released this plugin I thought it was perfect for the purpose of one of my personal websites. The speed is truly wonderful and this plugin does the simple job it’s meant to do excellently.
You’ve got the added bonus of having awesome support from David who’s always open to improvements and willing to help. The Plus version is also another good option for more advanced purposes which I’m definitely working on implementing soon for my larger sites.
Great work!

Many of the most downloaded social sharing plugins take ages to load. I can’t stand watching my site hang just to load the share buttons. It forces me to make a tough decision: should I slow down my site or make my content easier to share?
Simple Share Buttons Light set a lofty goal to be the fastest sharing plugin, and absolutely nails it. All of the images are base64 encoded, so there are no image file requests. The little bit of CSS needed is added into the page, rather than loaded in a separate file. And there are no Javascript files loaded whatsoever. The end result? A sharing plugin that has virtually no effect on your site’s load time.
This is a perfect choice for webmasters who want to incentivize social sharing on their site, but don’t want the slow load times.
