This plugin does exactly what the description says and enabled me to delete all the trackbacks/pingbacks on my blog without having to trawl back through hundreds of them and delete them manually.
Be careful you don’t hit the ‘delete comments’ button by mistake though!

Adds to TOOLS menu (a little different than in-line execution from plug-ins) allows wide variety of choices (ex: disable all trackbacks, but allow comments on PAGES).
Informs you of how many pages currently have the feature you are about to turn off and gives feedback after each operation (ex: you have just disabled trackbacks for xxx pages).
Straight forward, WORKS AS DESCRIBED, and keeps my thumb-fingers away from touching the underlying WP database directly.

I wanted to disable trackbacks for pages (as opposed to posts) and still keep comments enabled.
This plugin does it.
Also the source is so incredibly simple that I don’t need to worry about “yet another plugin” – it basically just facilitates a few simple SQL queries.

Turned off comments globally, but after you’ve already made a load of pages or posts? Been annoyed that they’re not turned off when you turn the global setting off? This plugin fixes that, and gives you 6 very clear buttons for disabling and/or deleting comments, trackbacks or their notifications.

I was getting thousands of spam ‘trackbacks’ and WordPress don’t care. WP could tackle it if they wanted but for bizarre reasons they don’t. (yes, the disable setting was on).
Then I discovered this excellent plugin.
I wish the people who made this a lot of success.
I was unable to make sql changes myself and this plugin did it for me.
