This plugin has not been updated for more than 2 years, producing notices that it may be abandoned. It still works with PHP 7.4 and it would be helpful if the compatibility with the the latest version of WordPress can be checked together with PHP 8.0 and any updates carried out, if required.

is it possible to add the Woocommerce Product Categories to the sitemap? I am haven a WPML – different domain per language – installation and when I am adding eg. the .com product categories to the sitemap, they will also be displayed in the .es sitemap and .de sitemap.

Your plugin is causing duplicate title tags in Google Search Console. The title of the HTML sitemap is exactly the same as the title tag on the homepage. It would be better to use the title that you can fill in as the sitemap page title.

I have a small feature that I have added into the plugin on a site I’m working on. I was wondering if it would be possible to get it added into the plugin so other people can benefit and I don’t have to patch every future update.
The code is just adding a couple of filters to SimpleWpMapBuilder::generateContent(). one is to allow people to drop posts they don’t want in the site map. The other is to allow people to modify the URL that is added to the sitemap based on the post.
I totally understand if you don’t want to add this in but I thought it would be worth an ask.
Here is the code:

]]>I’ve just installed Simple WP Sitemap Premium. I clicked on the links for the two sitemaps and they both give URLs that end in a slash. My link checker knows the .xml and .html shouldn’t have a slash (/) after them. How is that getting added to the end of the file name? Can it be taken out?
]]>Hi I have number of songs on my site and the sitemap lists all these songs individually as pages even though when I go to the links they bring up a 404 error. Is there a way to stop these from showing on the sitemap? All of them have “/songs/” before them. Can I do some sort of wildcard block?
]]>I noticed a problem when I viewed the sitemap.xml file on some sites. The XML file was displayed without any of the CSS, so it was just an uninterrupted string of all the URLs generated instead of the neatly arranged list I saw on sites where the XML displayed correctly. The oddest thing is that it affected some sites and not others, even though they were running the same theme and plugins. When I tested the site on XML Sitemap Validator, it showed the file was not valid due to “Incorrect http header content-type.” There were no PHP errors or any errors when I enabled WP_DEBUG. There were no visible blank lines at the top of the file when I looked at the source of the sitemap.xml page. If I copied-and-pasted the source into a text document, saved it as a *.xml file, and opened it in Firefox, it displayed correctly.
It turned out the problem was with WP Super Cache. Even when I was logged in and WP Super Cache was not caching the page, on the affected sites, Firefox Developer tools showed that the lines:

<?xml-stylesheet type="text/css" href="https://thedomain.com/wp-content/plugins/simple-wp-sitemap/css/xml.css"?>
were commented out with HTML comments. I think that WP Super Cache must have been adding some kind of characters to the beginning of the file, but nothing showed up when viewing the source. I verified that I was using exactly the same settings for WP Super Cache on the affected sites as I was on the unaffected sites. I took a look at some other sites using other XML sitemap plugins, and found that this problem isn’t limited to Simple WP Sitemap.
The workaround was to add the sitemap to the list of files not to be cached in WP Super Cache -> Advanced -> “Add here strings (not a filename) that forces a page not to be cached:”

Hello, I use (Ultimate Category Excluder) category excluder to exclude some categories from frontpage, I want these posts on sitemap too but they won’t show up.
Is there a way to fix it?
And, after I deactivated and deleted Simple Wp Sitemap plugin, when I try sitemap.xml or sitemap.html on browser, home page opens up instead of a 404 error.

I recently apply to OnPage.org free account that crawl your site and reports problems found.
Not sure why but my first report complains about 56 indexable URLs that are not in my sitemap but I don’t really care as it appears to be all archives.
My problem is that only 23 that are in the sitemap.xml as reported by OnPage.org stuff although my blog has more than 100 posts…
It could be it is an old sitemap file there, how your plugin behaves if I ever copied a point in time sitemap at address your plugin intercepts to return a dynamically generated sitemap ?
I refresh settings in your plugin and I am now waiting next crawl result but I am a bit impatient and want to know what happened…

i suspect Speed Booster Pack , because i enable remove rss feed link , i read on internet that removing rss can cause error with sitemap.xml , is it true ?
then i try to disable and delete Speed Booster Pack , and also clear cache from wp fastest cache , but didn’t solve the problem

– emptied cache
– with and with visiting the page after changing the post
– looking with different browsers.
It’s a Page update not a Post.
Homepage is updated whenever I visit the website.

https://www.foobar.com/sitemap.xml works as expected.
Other sitemap plugins previously installed (since removed) generated /subsite/sitemap.xml as expected.
Any ideas?

When I try to login to site after updating the plugin (using WP Remote) I get a blank screen with this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/content/20/9957220/html/aut/wp-content/plugins/simple-wp-sitemap/simpleWpMapOptions.php on line 36
The front end of the site still displays properly but I cannot get to admin.
This has happened on four client sites on GoDaddy hosting.
