I am an Elementor user, I paid for Pro to get forms support but does not work.
Money down the drain.

If you’re not relying on this plugin for important work, it’s probably fine. Our organization uses it to publish critical information, but there are constant issues.
I would have rated it higher, but their support team marked my issue as resolved even though they had never provided any troubleshooting help. They also did not respond to multiple attempts to contact them.
I’ve paid less for plugins that provided better support. Glad there is another option to this plugin now.

We’ve been using Simply Static for several projects, and it has consistently delivered great results. The plugin is well-designed, easy to use, and helps create static versions of WordPress websites seamlessly. What really stands out is the level of detail and care put into the development—it’s clear that the team behind it knows what they’re doing.
The support team has been incredibly responsive and helpful. Even when we encountered an issue with our hosting setup (which was unrelated to the plugin itself), Patrick and his team provided guidance and solutions, going above and beyond to assist us.
We highly recommend Simply Static for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient static site generator. Great work from the entire team!

What this plugin can do for your website is simply amazing, and I recommend the pro version, the support is outstanding.

It was creating an archive of the simple website with 10 pages on localhost for… 5 hours.
But all this time I couldn’t reach the site at all… Thought it was dead…
Strange plugin

Hello, I have about several WordPress sides but this plugin only working on one of the sides allow to have slide show and click on the images. Also some images become corrupted when converted to static.
Several tickets were open in the support forum and in GitHub forum. It was answered that the problem solved by using relative path but there are still not slideshow and images are not clickable even so I’ve used relative path and followed direction provided.
Results in Simply Static -> Settings -> Diagnostics -all passed except PHP option < 8 (7.4). My server provider is working on it . So, it is not likely that PHP version create an issue since one of my WordPress side is workin.g in static .
Is a free version of this plugin allow to use Jetpack galleries or it is limited to only one WordPress side?
How to make WordPress sides and particularly Jetpack galleries to work with this plugin?
Thanks.

I tested very very early versions before it had some issues but developer looks like fixed all those issues.
Now I tested my bricks builder site and generated statics html. it worked really nice. my site even had custom gsap animations and lots of custom css animations none of them had a problem.
Well done

The free version works fine, after you learn the quirks of this plugin. And it works for free, wowee. Now that WP2Static is gone this is really the only serious game in town. The quirks take a long time to learn tbh, but look at the support section and update history, the developer obviously reads every support thread and frequently updates this plugin. I couldn’t get images to work with Bricks but I’m sure I can figure it out or just ask in the support forum. A beginner would struggle a lot with this, but maybe the pro version would suit them better and save them a lot of time learning quirks and doing research. Personally, I suspect I’m going to be spending a lot of time learning how to get this to work in different scenarios. I’m tired of hosting so many personal hobby sites on a full fat server when there’s so many static host options that cost nothing.

Thanks for keeping the main functionality free and building a decent plugin that does its work well.
We had old site that was kept up for archiving purpose. But due to server PHP updates, we were planning to take it down. Thanks to this plugin, another site will stay up for at least couple of years, instead of disappearing into the abyss.
Its a content rich page with couple of thousands of posts and pages, that were built many many moons ago.

The plugin is “Generating…” for 20 minutes.
Nothing happens. Can’t talk about a successfull experience.

I am a big advocate of headless / decoupled / static front end so for that reason I really want this plugin to succeed.
I purchased Pro LTD of this plugin 2 times and returned / refunded both the times because as of now it still has bugs and minimum support. But I am sure it will get there and will be quite a useful plugin.
The FREE Version works great to export static files of your WP however following are the few bugs / shortcomings I noticed.
1 – It doesn’t export all images (wp-content properly) for example if your WP creates resized images (thumbnail, etc etc) those do not get exported. as a result, these images will not display in respective devices (such as mobile etc). A work-around for this is that you can copy your wp-content/uploads manually from your wp install into your static zip and upload that zip so all content is there.
2 – The folder structure that gets exported isn’t quite clean. Sometimes you’ll see multiple folders for one single post / page each having an index. Are these post revisions by any chance? I am not quite sure.
Nothing else major. So for a free version (except above 2 points) it’s quite a good solution. The first one (content not getting pushed) is a bit of a weird one, i hope there’s a easier workaround or fix for that.

I’m really blown away by Patrick’s plugin. He is constantly shipping new updates that make it more robust. We have saved a lot of money (and headache) by using WordPress as a staging site, then pushing updates to a live, static site.

Thanks so much for an exceptional static website plugin for WordPress. We’ve tried a number of them over the years and Simply Static (and Simply Static Pro) is the only one that could handle all of the complexities of our websites.

It even replaces your domain with a forward slash on all generated pages for simple relative URLs. Thanks a lot.

This plugin is supreme. As an experiment, I achieved a 100% free personal site with custom domain and SSL thanks to Simply Static and GitHub. I run WordPress locally with MAMP, generate static site files in a local repo then push to remote for GitHub Pages to serve. Bob’s my uncle!
You can buy Pro too, you know. It’s easier.

I had to archive some old wp websites to static and had no problem doing so thanks to this incredible plugin.

“It drastically improves the performance of your website and minimizes security risks as it removes the connection between your traditional server and your static website”
The plugin creates static files in a folder/location of your choice. It doesn’t actually do anything else. The claims are based on “what could be achieved..”.

As someone who has been navigating the world of WordPress for quite some time, I’ve come across numerous plugins, but Simply Static stands out as a true game-changer.
I had a specific issue regarding deployment to GitHub, and this is where Patrick, the developer of Simply Static, came in. His commitment to helping users is exemplary. Patrick assisted me personally, ensuring that my issue was resolved promptly and efficiently. It’s rare to find a developer so dedicated and responsive, and this level of support adds immense value to the plugin.
Simply Static is a comprehensive solution for anyone looking to improve their WordPress site’s performance, security, and cost-effectiveness. With the added bonus of outstanding support from Patrick, it’s a must-have for any WordPress user. Highly recommended! ?????

Using Simply Static has allowed me to move largish content sites that needed good servers into a very cost-efficient hosting arrangement (with their own SimplyCDN service). Generally just works; and support is fast and efficient when it doesn’t. Good speed of releases improving things regularly. Big fan!

I generated a static Zip file utilizing the plugin and then proceeded to upload it to Cloudflare Pages. Unfortunately, I’ve encountered issues with certain elements, specifically the hamburger menu, Lottie files, forms, and FAQs. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving these problems, with a particular focus on addressing the hamburger menu. Could you please provide me with a tutorial or guidance on how to rectify these issues?
Edit: The website, plugin and the process was just fine. The problem is with my DNS is managed by Cloudflare so when the website caused issues when served through its network. it worked just fine once i turn off the proxy setting in DNS.

Sadly didn’t work for me trying to convert a simple one-page wordpress site, without post or feeds. Design and interface is nice anyway.
EDIT: In another website it works very well but take a long time so I change my rating : ) Thanks dev.

Thanks to this plugin, I have saved myself lots of time. Instead of converting my WordPress theme to one of the static site generators (Gatsby, Hugo ..etc), this plugin just did exactly the same but also I kept the powerful editing experience of WordPress. Thanks for making this.
