This is specifically related to the “Term order in posts” feature.
Is it possible or planned to have the tag order reflect in the Tag panel when creating or editing a post with the Gutenberg editor? I am using WordPress 6.3.x with no additional plugins (yet) besides this one.
It seems that this was once the case in previous versions of WordPress but in WordPress 6.3, the tags are displayed in alphabetical order in the Tag panel but do show in the correct order on the front end.

Hi
I only just discovered your plugin, and it looks like it might be very handy to use on all my clients sites.
I’m having one issue with it though – I want to give the editor role access to edit only menus under “Appearance”. But even though I am only selecting that option in the plugin’s admin page, the editor user can access both “Customise” and “Widgets” as well (I do not have these options selected in the plugin).
What’s going wrong?
Thanks for your help!
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
——————
The latest Slash Admin update (v3.7) now requires PHP 7 or higher, but doesn’t enforce that restriction.
Please modify the plugin’s readme.txt file to specify the minimum PHP requirements.
Instructions here: https://make.www.ads-software.com/plugins/2017/08/29/minimum-php-version-requirement/
DETAILS
——-
Due to legacy software that we are actively working to replace, we have to run our WordPress site on PHP 5.6.40.
In Slash Admin 3.7, line 13 of slashadmin.php (the ‘use’ statement) requires PHP 7+. It crashes our PHP 5.6.40 website when activated.
From the PHP error log: “PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘{‘, expecting identifier (T_STRING) in //wp-content/plugins/slash-admin/slashadmin.php on line 13”
If the minimum PHP version requirement had been specified, we wouldn’t have been allowed to install this update.

Hello,
I’m just getting started with WPML (normally use Polylang) and wanted to translate the cookie consent message and the spinner text:
Show EU Cookie Law consent message (check screenshots about available options). Since v.3.0 it also supports WPML for different message per language.
Sadly there’s no tutorial for this, just a hint within Slash Admin:
Retrieve the box message form from your “Read more” page’s excerpt instead of the plugin’s message field. You need to enable excerpt support to pages from the “Miscellaneous” section below. Check this option if you use WPML and you want to have different consent messages per language.
Did it that way for the cookie text but now I can’t format it anymore.
In SA e.g.
was supported and WordPress also says that
you may use (some) HTML formatting
: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Excerpt
Did also test
instead of
but didn’t work either.
So I still need translatable AND 8basically) formatable multilingual cookie text and would like to translate the spinner text also.
How to do that??
Thank you in advance for your help
Hi,
Part of the background (my full-width nav) shows when the preloader is loading. Specifically, a section on the far left shows. It is right at the edge of a div, so I looked for any padding/margins that might not be playing nicely, but I can’t find anything. I have the preloader loading with a logo, nothing really customized. I tried putting in the preloader manually after the body tag as oppose to automatically linked before the footer, but it made no difference.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated ??
Thanks!
Hi Mr Giorgos!
Greetings from Cyprus!
I have just uploaded your plugin Slash Admin and finding it’s really useful!
Was just looking at ways I could embed YT videos in the WP admin area as a guide for clients.
Atm I needed something else apart from this to add a note type of thing as it wouldn’t show the YT embed code.
Any plans? Still great for login logo, and adding my link at the bottom oh and no more howdy!
Any plans or ideas welcome.
Also will you be updating the plugin?
Many Thanks,
Danny
Hello,
Is there anyway I can add an admin page to a certain role ( or all roles since I only use 1 anyway )?
I’m using a booking plugin and a page isn’t showing in my editor. Can I add it into the code or something?
Cheers
Hello,
First of all, thanks for the excellent plugin. So far I’ve tested it out on 5 sites and it’s great!
Yet on 2 sites I have the same problem. For a user in the Editor role, he doesn’t have an adminbar on top of his page.
Only the admin ( me ) has.
I’ve tried to fix it by reinstalling but this does the same.
I can mail you a login for the site if you require this.
Cheers!
Hi!
I just installed some plugin updates (not slash admin – had the current release 3.3.1 installed already) and logged out again.
Then the following error message appeared above the login box:
Warning: get_headers(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in xxx/wp-content/plugins/slash-admin/inc/login.php on line 18
Warning: get_headers(https://www.xxx/wp-content/uploads/backend_login_logo.png): failed to open stream: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in xxx/wp-content/plugins/slash-admin/inc/login.php on line 18
Warning: getimagesize(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in xxx/wp-content/plugins/slash-admin/inc/login.php on line 19

Fact is, that backend_login_logo.png is still shown correctly and I can’t find other problems either.
Got PHP 7.0.24 running and wanted to switch to 7.1.10. Couldn’t see a difference here…
How can I manage to get rid of the PHP errors?
Best regards and thanks in advance
Hi,
I was using your plugin for two years, but i had to remove it recently.
The reason is that at tools.pingdom.com with the plugin active it shows that it loads the root domain twice. It has nothing to do with redirects with www etc.
Can you reproduce that behavior? I would like to keep using your plugin, which is really helpful.
Php version 7.0
Hi again George.
I have set up Varnish for my website and I am using the Cookie Law Message function from your plugin. Although I have excluded the plugin’s cookie that is responsible for the message from my varnish configuration, it still randomly appears.
I have done extended testing on several browsers, cleared browser cache, varnish cache etc. I am also talking with the host but not sure if it’s going anywhere. Also not sure if this issue is really related with the plugin itself.
Can you provide any feedback?
Thanks a lot
Hello George,
Please check this issue –> https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cloudways-incompatibility-killed-website/#post-9468853
I think your plugin is involved.
Hi, first of all, amazing plugin, i use it on all new installs. I’ve being running into an issue lately where, once i launch a site to Prod, i still see a debug message, like the site is under development. This is the message i see on Prod sites.
Debug mode is disabled. It seems that this site is under development so, you might consider turning it on. (more info).
I found no way to turn this off without modifying the plugin itself.
Is there an easy fix, or can this be fixed in the next release.
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I tried testing this plugin and it seems there’s a problem. It only shows first (General) tab, all others don’t show at all.
Here’s my config:

WP Version: 4.7.2
WP Multisite: –
WP Memory Limit: 256 MB
WP Debug Mode: –
Language: en_US
Server Environment
Server Info: nginx/1.11.5
PHP Version: 7.0.12
Hi Giorgos,
The EU cookie law option used to show a link to a ‘read more’ page.
Sadly, this link doesn’t show anymore even though it is properly configured. Only the “Accept” button is shown.
This changes when I check the option ‘Retrieve the box message form from your “Read more” page’s excerpt ….’
In this case, the link is showing. But then of course the custom message text isn’t showing any more.
Is there any chance you can fix this quickly?
Thanks a lot and all the best
Christian
After switching server to PHP 7.0 (from 5.6) i got a blank screen, after login into WP (admin).
After deleting the plugin, i could. If you need more assistance…
Only the main/Fronted shows options
Everything from Administration to Documentation are blank.
Here is a screenshot on Administration tab

Hi,
I just installed the plugin and did not exclude Pages for non-admin.
But still Pages do not show.
What could be the problem?
Thanks,
Guy
Giorgios,
We have a couple of requirements for our WP user environment that are met (and greatly simplified) by this plugin, specifically where Editors are provided access to Menus and Widgets, and even the Customizer.
However, we still need the standard Editor role without access to the Appearance options.
Which is the more straightforward path, in your opinion, based on your experience:
1. Create a new “Editor Plus” role (copy the Editor) and modify the function of your plugin to use that role instead to allow the appearance options.
2. Create a new “Editor Simple” role, and just use that to assign users with the default Editor capabilities.
Thanks in advance for your insight.

This is more of a heads up than a complaint. In my local dev environment, I am beginning to test with PHP 7. In doing so, an error was generated by this plugin, stating:
Fatal error: Switch statements may only contain one default clause in …\wp-content\plugins\slash-admin\options.php on line 296
In looking at your code, I found a default clause on line 257 under case ‘upload’, then further down as indicated by the error message above you have the main switch default clause.
Not sure if the default on line 257 was intentional. I have deleted it in my test environment, and so far all of your plugins functionality seems to be working for me.
Again, this is only appearing when using php 7 so it will not be a major problem until that becomes the defacto standard.
Hi Girogos
I love this plugin! I use if on a number of my sites. However, my daughter is launching a review blog and I cannot seem to use this plugin with WP Review, which is a very well known review plugin – which clashes for some reason with Slash Admin.
Slash Admin activates, and I can access the frontend panel in the Slash Admin settings – and that is it. All the other tabs don’t present any options – they’re not visible at all.
Is there anything that can be done so both plugins can work alongside each other?
Thanks
Hi George
I am wondering of you could include a revert to previous settings button. What happened to my experience when i deactivated the plugin, is that the original wordpress logo in the login page does not come back, the uploaded logo does not appear (of course since i deactivated the plugin) but there is a hidden link to https://NiviJah.com. This is very strange.
Secondly the original css in the admin area does not get restored. The green background in the selected menu is still there even after the deactivation.
Can you please let me know how to fix this?
Regards
Hi,
This looks like a neat plugin with some useful features. However when changing the login logo I get a warning:
Warning: getimagesize(https://www.mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/logo-login.png): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/slash-admin/inc/login.php on line 16
The logo does appear but seems it is trying to get the size of it. Using WordPress 4.3.1.
The website is for a client so this does not instil confidence with them even though it is just warning.
I have the FRONTEND page but no other page show anything, just the menu with nothing actually on their pages. Is it just not worth using on the latest wp?
Tried on FF and on IE
Hi,
Thanks for your plugin. I gave it a try and it seems a very good work indeed. My problem is I just want to hide admin notices for non-admins, seems excessive to install Slash Admin just for one of it’s functions (it works, I’ve tried it ?? ).
What do you recommend just for that? Is there any snippet I can use to hide admin notices except for admins? I looked for one and can only find for hiding update notices, not every notice (including plugins’).

I have been adding the [slash_mailto address=”[email protected]”], but when inspecting the code in Chrome, the regular mailto: html code is showing. Is this actually hiding the email from spammers? Could you please confirm?

Thanks
